They know how important SC2 is going to be. I really wouldn't be surprised to see them cut the 1st beta short and then have a 2nd longer one later. | ||

Also I definitely don't know what they're thinking. I'm just guessing about the beta. It could just as easily be a quick and simple beta and release during the holidays. But I'm putting my money on a release next year. | ||

It's just that instead of spreading the contant among all three races they decided to make each release dedicated to one particular race. It's still: vanilla - couple dozen missions, core game, bnet, etc. 2nd release - couple dozen missions, some extra units/buildings/upgrades/whatever, some improvements to bnet 3rd release - ditto Maybe the two expansions will get slightly more content than TFT. | ||

If they decided to just release one SC2 all three campaigns would be as long as one will be now, so it wouldn't really take any longer. latent: I don't agree with the way you're thinking. Blizzard knows SC2 is important, but they wouldn't announce a beta to later close it without releasing the game, unless something unexpected comes up during the beta testing. If they'd pull the beta in it would just be bad marketing, adding more fuel to the stupid, but in many peoples eyes valid, argument against "It's done when it's done". I don't think Blizzard is stupid enough to release a game for beta that they've been working on for this long if they're not satisfied with it. If I recall correctly Blizzard has also stated that their aim is to release one game a year, and with the latest wow expansion being their latest 'game' in November last year I'm guessing for a SC2 release this year. | ||
