Team Liquid announced they have signed Protoss player SKillous.
As a Russian national, SKillous was displaced when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began while he was competing at IEM Katowice 2022 in Poland. Since then, Team Liquid had been harboring SKillous at their facility in the Netherlands for nearly a year. During that time, Team Liquid saw that SKillous fit in well with the rest of the team, and have ultimately decided to officially sign him as a player. "He's a really skilled player in When we thought about it, we thought he would be a great addition to Team Liquid and our continuous investment in StarCraft II." said Victor "Nazgul" Goossens.
SKillous is also the recipient of the first esports visa issued by the Netherlands, according to Team Liquid.
I'm so happy about this! SKillous is a great guy and he is putting in so much effort to become a stronger player every day. Looking forwards to seeing him represent TL in 2023!

I can't imagine how difficult his situation has been for the past year. Hopefully he's able to find some personal and professional stability in all this.
Im so happy to see support for someone from Russia... Ive been a member of this site for over 20 years now and i dont play much BW or sc2 but i do play Escape from Tarkov.. and seeing what this war has done to the dev team... im trying to say there are many causalities of war. In many complicated ways.. my heart goes out to all... and seeing Liquid do this, well it reaffirms that this is the best esport and best esport team.
I had not seen the tweets by SKillous about the Russian invasion of Ukraine that are shown in his introduction video. I have a lot of respect for him and hope he will have a prosperous future. Looking forward to cheering for him during the next World Team League!
Was secretly hoping For LiquidMaxPax at some point, but then again he does not go to any offline events which I assume would be a requirement for playing on a pro team. Either way best of luck to Skillous ! Great addition to the team

MaxPax plays for a pro Team (PsiStorm) allready. He s their ace in WTL, where they have been more sucessfull than Liquid in the past couple of seasons. So him switching to Liquid is probably not going to happen anytime soon
Anyways grad that Liquid and SKillous could finally work sonething out, I was waiting for this announcement for like 1.5 years now
