"Hey guys sorry for being quiet lately I can finally say I’m going to Korea today , I’ll be staying there for a couple of months let’s see how it goes."
Will he play GSL?
For me it is a very exciting news.
(I couldn't find anything about it here, I hope it is not posted already).
Lets fucking GO It s the first time in several year, that I ll actually follow a gsl season a little bit closer I gues. Some much needed fresh air for the competition. He will have the worst seed in every single round, so it s going to be super tough and his group will always be the group of death, pretty exciting to see how far he can get
Really hope he stays focused and is on his best sigma male grindset. He should be a strong contender for the semifinals togehter with Maru, Dark and HerO.
Reynor definitely has the skills to win GSL, but if he wastes a lot of time practicing Protoss/messing around I can see him having an underwhelming run.

any info on where/how he'll live? is the foreigner team house still a thing?
Well, he already reached the Code S RO16 back in 2018, a few months before he was old enough to play in WCS officially. He's had an okay career since then, so I think he'll do fine
This is good for so many reasons, it creates excitement and increased viewership and interest for SC2/GSL, it motivates Korean SC2 pro scene to make sure they shut down Reynor (Koreans DO NOT want a non Korean to beat them at SC, it is a pride thing for them).
If Reynor wins a GSL I think he will have a higher chance the first time he plays it then consecutive attempts, and I hope someone tells him not to play Protoss. ( I don't think you can race swap in GSL actually, I think you have to choose a race when you sign up and then you must play that race.
Oh i can't wait to see how this goes. Id love see him win or get to finals. Has such great energy compared to a lot of pros too. This will make GSL interesting assuming he enters in more then one GSL
Oh, this is exciting! Reynor's one of my favorite players to watch, and the GSL is the main tournament I follow consistently, so it's great to have the two combined.
I think he has a real shot at doing very well indeed, but it will at least be fun. And hopefully he has a good time in Korea hanging out with Tasteless and the boys.
Very exciting news . He is probably the favorite to win it all alongside Rogue, herO, Dark and Maru, anything other than ro6+ would be a disappointment
Nice! Glad to see Reynor stepping up to be an actual legit player. Unlike some people call "GOAT" but is way to scared to play with the big boys in GSL main season. You honestly can't call someone a GOAT if they've never even attempted or expressed the desire to play in GSL main season. I can see Clem one day trying at GSL main season as well. Can't see any other foreigner attempt this as they aren't good enough to play in GSL.
Rooting for Reynor! One of the few legit non-Korean players out there!

Shots fired at Serral there, but I do have to agree. He doesn't seem to have the will to do what Neeb, Scarlet, Astrea, Special in the past and now Reynor will do and compete at Code S with the intent of going as far as possible if not outright winning it. But hey, it's an easier road for titles and prize money for him to beat up non-koreans than to face actual Koreans in a domestic tourney over several weeks.
Reynor is a true competitor and even goes out of his comfort zone by joining a Chinese Team just to compete at WTL, even offraces as Toss on open cups and major/premiere tourneys and now is going to Korea for Code S.
I wouldn't be quite so harsh to Serral, there's many reasons not to move to Korea for months. But of course I'd love to see it too.
It seems to me Reynor may be a bit bored and is looking to shake things up for himself. Joining a Chinese team, off racing in tournaments, now going to Korea and playing GSL...

Nonsense, ask the Koreans if they think Serral is a legit player or not…
It’s cool to see Reynor give it a shot, it’d be cool to see others give it a shot too but why turn something cool into a barb to bash other players?
Yeah, I don't think this is a knock against Serral in itself. Korea is no longer assumed 100% better than the rest of the world, and GSL is no longer the most prestigious tournament. Plus things have merged a lot back since the days of total region lock, so Serral plays the top Koreans pretty regularly at this point anyway. And from interviews they very much respect & fear him, seemingly more than any other foreigner.
Of course Korea is still one of the strongest regions, and if it's not the absolute top GSL is still one of the 2-3 most prestigious tournaments in the scene, and would be even more prestigious for a foreigner who managed to overcome the logistical and cultural hurdles. If Reynor actually wins a GSL in Korea it would be a huge boost to his status as a player. I imagine that's why he's doing it, other than the chance to improve and his general drive to compete and try things and keep himself interested.

Have you ever heard of optics? Things are way different from back then when Huk or MC or Idra would shit talk other players. Things are way too PC for any player to admit that they think Serral is a bad player. They say they respect him, but only for image sake. I'd love to hear what's in their actual mind.
Anyway, I was congratulating Reynor but some how people here is making this article about Serral.

I think even you know that playing in a month long league is different and requires actual skill compared to weekend tournaments like HSC

Reynor 4-7 Maru Reynor 3-2 Dark Reynor 1-0 Rogue Reynor 3-2 herO Total 11-11
They should definitely fear Reynor too, though. Looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table
No you see, some of those matches were in totally unimportant tournaments like IEM Katowice so Serral isn't a legit player.
As for Reynor's chances I'm sort of pessimistic just because GSL is such a different format from what Reynor's used to. He's even said in interviews that he doesn't do much prep for opponents, which may be fine in weekenders (even there I think it hurts him some), but that definitely won't fly in GSL. His baseline skill might be good enough for a deep run, but without some adjustments I doubt he can win.

I think if he can make playoffs he’ll have a good bit of space for decent prep and planning.
It’s probably the group phases that might prove tricky in that regard, and where Reynor may hope to get through mostly on his general level.
But yeah I largely agree, I think it’s partly why he’s doing this, to push himself out of his comfort zone a bit and develop that planning aspect as a player.

I think someone mentioned it before, but what also working against Reynor is the seeding. He might be in the same group with one of the 3 Dark-Maru-herO, Rogue is probably a seed in Ro20 as well. Throw in another player like Cure/Solar/Ragnarok in that group and its quite tricky for Reynor to get out of the group.

I think you are HEAVILY underestimating jetlag
Serral must be a superhuman as he has defeated koreans AND jet lag in GSL vs the world -tournaments. Or does jet lag only for when traveling from Korea to Europe?

I believe he arrived to Korea like a week or more before GSL vs the world - which is not GSL Code S BTW - which is plenty of time to rest and recover. Koreans when going to Europe arrive within a few days - usually 2 or 3 - before the tournament. These EU tournaments are also weekend events, so its grueling on the body as well. I'm guessing you've never flown anywhere long. Europe to Europe travel is extremely easy and not very taxing on the body.

Couldn't he ask Lambo for coaching again? Should work easily even remotely. I could very well see Reynor get upset in group stage without coaching, but with Lambo's help he should maximize his potential and go very far

AlphaX sometimes cast the replays of the qualification games (ie. the winner's finals + loser's final, giving qualification spots) like here: tl.net so even though the qualifier won't be streamed, there is hope some of Reynor's games will be cast afterwards
