Qualifiers for ‘2021 GSL Super Tournament I’ will be held on January 19th
Details are as below.
■ Qualifiers Application Period
- Until January 14th, 2021 Thursday 23:59 (KST)
■ GSL Super Tournament I Qualifiers Event:
Date: January 19th(Tuesday) 2020 (KST)
Location: Online
- Only players who are in Korea are available to participate in GSL ST Qualifiers.
- Match schedule for each individual will be sent out via MMS & e-mail to each participant on Jan. 15th(Fri).
■ Participation Requirements:
- Must be at least 12 years old
- Need to have a SC2 Battle.net account (cannot use your family's or friends' accounts)
- Masters/Grandmaster league players (Any Region)
■ Match Format:
- Bo3 / Double Elimination
■ Map Pool
- 1Set Lightshade LE
- 2Set Oxide LE
- 3Set Deathaura LE

Given the date, it seems like the whole main tournament might be held before Katowice?
That would be pretty welcome, since having a month+ break before Katowice without a major tournament would feel a bit dull...

A reason last year's ST1 was pretty much a qualifier and doesn't give points. Ditto for this year, unless something else changes. Gives leeway to operate freely calendar-wise outside the EPT. Hope this sheds light.

There is Last Chance and then there is Wardi 2021 to get our SC2 fix already

Katowice is end of February so Wax is right there's almost a month without anything major if the Super Tournament doesn't fall into that frame. Which I suppose it will cause it's a Code S qualifier now and that would mean they can start Code S shortly after Katowice.

Oh you are right. I somehow had in mind that Katowice was way more spread out across February but it is only the last 5 days. My bad

I guess they're in a hurry but imo it was better with match days spread out over a couple of weeks.
