I think he just overworked himself, when you look at when he first came back he had a lot more breaks inbetween the tourneys he was playing but this last weak he played something like a tournament a day 8 days in a row, add in the fact with how heavy micro based byuns playstyle is it was only a matter of time until his wrist problems started flaring up again, hopefully he rests up, would hate to see byuns play in offline tourneys suffer because he keeps griding online tourneys.

I think this is a very good hypothesis, I had to work just two days with a table too high for my standards and my back was killing me to the point I had to lie immobile in bed in pain for 20 minutes afterwards. And I have no pregress back issues.

If you had problem with your wrist, just a slight tilt for the forearm in the wrong direction and with the intensity they play at would destroy you. He should really see a specialist about it and maybe ask for a different chair in the studio if possible.

More likely that it's a condition that can't be completely cured with just rest. Could be something he carries with him forever, unless he gets some kind of medical procedure done (surgical or otherwise).
