Context as a a whole (as far I can remember): - JinAir on high whole season long (SKT slumping) - Low morale of players due to match-fixing scandal, and potential team dissolution (only JinAir is unaffected due to their unique position) - KT was terribly slumping whole season (TY: 14-13 (52%), Zest: 18-13 (58%) and 0-2 in the playoffs, Stats: 17-9 (75%) as their best player didn't get to play). It was just a really sad finals, overall, even without the third game. As you put it, KT players probably entered with the 'IDGAF' mindset. Or maybe they already felt happy and achieved their goal by beating SKT. Sorry, JinAir fans. Hollow victory. Your moment of glory was missed in 2015. In 2016, they already ascended as the 'new' SKT (and continue until today). So no real surprises winning. KT was the underdog, and collapsed on their own sword. (Also, KT roster was too shallow for playoffs, hence disadvantaged in a BO7 as opposed to BO5. A miracle that they beat SKT.) The match is truly tragic comedy. It just calls back memories to the downfall of SC2 prologue for reasons not due to the players' fault at all (except for the One-Who-Shalt-Not-Be-Named and other fixers, of course). Good effort, but I really didn't need to be reminded about this  | ||
