I realy like the voting system. The most passionate fans will vote every day and so will have the biggest impact on the final lineup. No Influencer from another Game can mobilize that many votes to rig it, when you have to vote every day to realy make it count.

Edit: ofc it is still a popularity contest, but I gues it is 100% fine for this format.

Well technically HK shouldn't even be there cuz unlike TW it's never been considered a "country" by anyone... it's like having Gilbrator instead of just UK up there. But I guess it would be unfair to have HK players compete for votes with mainland Chinese players.

Dear SC2 fans, pls don't vote for players who you personally like for some reasons(like: Huge fan), vote for real Top Tier Player from each country. It will help community and especially players who worked hard on their performance.
In other case, your wrong votes will ruin careers and motivation to perform a good StarCraft II games.
Sorry for my broken eng.

Anyone who shows up to vote daily, regardless of who they vote for, is a likely viewer and that’s important.

If they wanted that they would just do qualifiers.

To say the truth, qualifiers do not necessarily select the best players, just the ones who performed better on the day(s) when the qualifiers are held: sc2 is volatile enough for better players to lose.

That people might trollvote or select a fan favourite is indeed one possibility, but we can responsibly choose to vote for the best possible lineup(in many cases this is very hard to define, just look at South Korea or France, but in many others it is much easier).

I will vote for Inno, Zest and Ragnarok. They are top tier but wont be at gsl vs the world and blizzcon. I wanna see them, and want them to be motivated.

Especially Zest who is finally in form, too bad its too late.

I don’t really know who to vote for in France / KR line ups...
I feel like Clem / MarineLorD might be a good choice if Terran ends up being buffed when the games will be played, whereas PtitDrogo / Dns will probably be nerfed.

So I’d go with the two terrans and one of the Protoss, but I don’t know which one.
Denver is also a very good player nowadays and a former teammate, so it’s a really tough choice.

Stephano didn’t participate this time but I don’t think us frenchies would have fallen in the same trap after his 3 nation wars with 0 maps won (or is it two?)

As for Koreans, I’d like to see some new faces than soO/INno whom I saw in France last time. Maybe fantasy / zest / RagnaroK?

By the way, will the offline part played in front of a live audience like in 2018? @Aeromi

Hm, after voting for the nations I care about (and which have players I am familiar with) I clicked through the others. I had to vote for Jason (Canada) for the pic alone.

All the korean players born in 1992 might not be able to travel next year: Stats and herO, as well as Zest!
There is no NW without Inno.

As for France, I'd go with the two Terran and Drogo.

PrintF is Canadian!? I had no idea. I could've sworn he was American... Regardless, he'll make a fine addition to the Canadian roster. Wish Masa was here but Scarlett and NoRegret can put in some decent work together. (Though TheRiddler is cool too).
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Unfortunately MaSa is not eligible as he is still waiting for his Canadian nationality, he should get it if we are producing another edition in 2020.

That is exactly what we must all do.

And those who truly have the passion might even ask themselves "what have I done to get other people to vote for Luolis today?"

It's not entirely confirmed at this point, but people say it was Luolis who stopped the DDoS attack at ROG Assembly thus allowing the finals to be concluded. I'd say that's worth at least a couple of days of voting.

Voting strategy 2019:

Vote the best players for each nation you'd like to see winning.
Vote the weakest players (preferably same races) for each nation you'd like to see underperforming.

To be clear: there are no wrong votes. Otherwise we wouldn't be asking for votes and would just do an invitational format based on WCS points or something. The whole point here is to have players whom people want to see play, no matter why.

Don't ask yourself "What has Luolis done for me?"

ask yourself

"What can Luolis do for Starcraft by doing a 15 minutes-long 2 base marine-tank all-in?"

VOTE LUOLIS

Got to Chinese Taipei, then closed the page. China commits more and more atrocities every day, yet most still bend over whenever they their junta claims the "feelings of the people" are being hurt, well, those not in their concentration camps I guess.

There are just SO many reasons to vote for Luolis:

- 6140 posts on TL: on of the (if not the) most active TL users in the whole voting across all countries
- he's both a part of our community and a bit of an outcast, often banned for his overflowing passion for reaction GIFs and images after Finnish victory/loss
- can cast in English and Finnish: has done tremendous work for both the Finnish scene and our own LR tournaments
- creator of the LUOLISBUILD, one of the greatest advancements in Terran history
- even after many years of playing the game to no personal gain, he practices constantly and truly cares about his games
- an incredibly fun guy to talk to after winning, a potential luolis interview would be a treat
- even funnier after losing, the inevitable loss would produce months of quality TL content across many threads

If none of those convince you, I urge you to consider a completely opposite viewpoint: Finland is OP anyway with Serral, so why pick the strongest players for the other positions?

Well technically HK shouldn't even be there cuz unlike TW it's never been considered a "country" by anyone... it's like having Gilbrator instead of just UK up there. But I guess it would be unfair to have HK players compete for votes with mainland Chinese players.

But in the football game, UK also has 4 teams.

Have you guys heard the legend of Luolis the multi-talented tactical coach?

Once upon a time, young aocowns was lured to the depths of finland to participate in a csgo lan with luolis and his team. Luolis the great team captain performed admirably, but ultimately we were placed in the group of death and did not advance. But so efficient and famous was Luolis' ability to shotcall, and so unlimited was his endurance, that he was impromptu hired by a team that was still in the tournament to help them with tactics and live shotcalling. I will never forget the zeal with which he shouts his victory roar, it is a truly inspiring sight that surely you will all see if you vote him onto the team.

He might not be as good a player as Serral, but his talent for tactics and quick thinking will surely make him a valuable asset to team finland.

A really good effort, but it's not completely filled out since some of the tournaments in the LR Starleague series are not properly registered on Liquipedia, and Luolis was the runner-up in another one of those tourneys as well.

One kinda gets the feeling that some people tend to underestimate the level of Luolis' career accomplishments. The LR Starleague is actually a pretty high level tournament series. Participants include players like soO and GuMiHo.

A couple of lesser-known players I am excited about:

Bolivia: Darkunnammed - His ID and picture are just perfect.

Brazil: TurkeyDano - Surprised everyone with nonstandard builds and winning matches he was expected to lose during Nation Wars V.

Croatia: Ptak - The legendary Ptak who took down ByuN and Zest at the height of their career in 2016.

Norway: Poseidon - Played nonstandard last year and gave entertaining interviews.

South Korea: Kiwian - GSL Code A champion from 2011 who is still active.

Vietnam: MeomaikA - Famously took down Maru 2:0 in WESG 2019.
Stopped watching ESL content in 2022 when the company was acquired by Savvy Gaming Group. Also object to sponsorships by the U.S. Air Force. Thanks for the lively discussions about sportswashing. StarCraft II is not for me anymore.

Maybe the system noticed you do not vote for Luolis, recongised how wrong it is and that caused the error?!

I picked the people who I’ve felt performed the best in offline tournaments this year overall.

Obviously South Korea is stacked but there are a few other countries that have more than three good choices. I would like to see the best TEAMS each country can field (especially USA - let’s vote to win for once guys!) I voted for who I felt were the top three regardless of race in each country, but it’s nice when they can throw out a T Z and a P as their top three together.

If the results don't show that you're the number 1 vote getter overall, this vote is more rigged than a North Korean election.

I think Luolis took me out of the LR Star League, back when I still played and pre semi-retirement.

I was definitely one of the biggest scalps in all of SC2 back in the day so extremely prestigious indeed for Luolis to defeat me
