The Korean StarCraft II community celebrated soO's long-awaited major championship win at IEM Katowice with a full-size billboard ad in Samseong station of Seoul's Subway system, the closest stop to the AfreecaTV studio.
The billboard was crowdfunded by members of Korea's DCinside.com StarCraft II forum, with 90 fans combining to contribute over 3,400,000 won toward the effort. The billboard will run from March 15th to April 14th, and can be found toward the #1 exit at Samseong station.

Aw, this just makes me happy
Perhaps we should do this in other big cities, too ^^
|
And here I assumed only Kpop idols receiving such treatments from fans lol
|
Very nice. Pleased to see that Koreans are into this stuff enough to do things like that.
|
Honestly wasn’t actively supporting him, but I AM happy he finally got his title. Can’t imagine how big that monkey must’ve felt on his back.
Shame about his Ro16 in the GSL though 😐

A dedicated player could make a pretty long list of people who've grinded for years without ever experiencing that big win (soO had a Kespa cup) but haven't made nearly as much money as soO over the years. e.g. GuMiho prior to his GSL win in 2017, Losira, Bunny, Cure, Hurricane, and Impact among active pros.

Be careful or Artosis will dust off his old TL account to comment on how he was the best player in the world in GSL 2018 S3

Yellow never had his shot at true redemption. At least his greatest successor was able to right some wrongs and shed the mantle to a degree.
