is Avilo one of the best American players? He’s not even top 100 GM last I checked, he isn’t even close to pro level. Nathanias wasn't either. Yet he made team USA last year. People like memers. As long as this is a popularity contest memers will get voted in. Avilo going full NA in an international tournament would probably be more entertaining that some wannabe try hard that gets obliterated anyways.
I also think that avilo going to NW would be good for viewership because of all the people who will want to see him get destroyed by progamers lol.

Title is very misleading, please change?

gotta admit i dont know much about avilo, i ve watched his stream for about 30 minutes, cuz he was trying out Zerg (and i usually check the zerg streams with highest views). Basically he was saying how OP and broken zerg is vs terran the whole time, and how ridiculously OP hydras, vipers, etc are, and in the meantime proceeded to get absolutely destroyed by terrans two games in a row.

What does that got to do with the topic.

At least Nathanias is a well-respected member of the community and has done work with Blizzard in the past. Avilo is a complete asshole. Remember the Maria debacle? As an American I want the best players representing my country, but I've just started to vote for the top 3 who aren't Avilo in order to prevent him from getting in and making a mockery of everything.

Hopefully Ogaming can filter out fake votes, they were able to detect botting last time I think.
Regarding voting for avilo, in the end it's a popularity contest sadly. Should people vote for him if they want the US to do well? No of course not, but if they just want drama and entertainment they can.
MMA and Parting are number 3 and 4 in Korea I think and there are certainly many better Koreans in the vote.

i see i see avilo is stealing Winter bots in order to get himself votes in nation wars just so he could complain about balance an a international scale while calling other players hackers and how blizzard doesnt care about the game so on and so on The plot thickens (this post is a joke )

I mean its cool that u guys vote for Neeb (best toss NA) but I would rather see some mech games instead of another zvz bullshiet, even though he could lose games quickly (but who knows? maybe he survive to late game and rekt some big names), it will be far more entertaining to watch. My dude avilo's biggest win, all-time, across 600 games, is a 2-0 over PandaBearMe. He's gonna get whooped every game he plays and the only entertaining part will be if he bitches about something as a result of it. You can vote for him if you like, but don't do it under the illusion that he's actually going to accomplish anything.

Avilo is popular, just accept that fact.

Probably not the only time this happened. Wasn't Winter putting in an effort to prevent avilo from getting in? Unless Ogaming has a way to detect botting there's not much that can be done.

impressive, avilo is still relevant

It's not even botting necessarily--just people voting a bunch of time from different IPs.

Literally one person in that chat said they used tor to cast more than one vote and then one other person suggested using a vpn instead. That is literally it. Evidence of one extra vote.
This is not "botting" and considering the website seems to allow more than one vote per person anyways its so incredibly insignificant that i have a hard time believing it warrants a thread.
If op's intent was to actually bring attention to this and get avilo removed from the running he is horribly mistaken. This will only serve to bring even more attention to avilo and boost him further up the rankings which in my opinion is great news. Cant wait to see some avilo getting trashed by the koreans.

Tbf the anti-avilo campaign ( overall bashing, Reddit top post , basetrade tournament etc ) is even more unfair than 20 people using vpn.
|
I'm not avilo fan be any stretch, but there is no U.S. Terran with more fans than him. Stop being butt hurt.

Just 'cuz you know how to implement a DDOS or a distributed Bot-net system in theory doesn't mean you can crack a particular type of site in practice. You need probably 35+ successes on sites with easier architecture before you would have the tecnical practice to successfully stage a voting overhaul on nationwars.tv without obvious red flags going up.

The title is misleading and suggest that Avilo is somehow responsible for this. Also, chat logs can be easily faked and is not evidence that vote rigging is take place.

He goes mech and does nothing all game then expects to win, or does a skill less 1-2 base all in, I beat him every time I hop on SC2 with no practice, he is just another cancer skill-less mech player.
