StarCraft turns 20 years old!
There's a whole bunch of stuff coming in March, including a special anniversary stream on March 30th, new content for other Blizzard games, a video feature called StarCraft Is Life: A Celebration (whether it will feature Life remains to be seen), and new skins and portraits and decals in StarCraft 2.
The celebrations officially begin on March 6th, which is tomorrow!
Log in to StarCraft: Remastered after March 6 to receive a commemorative 20th Anniversary UI Skin for StarCraft: Remastered.
Log in to StarCraft II after March 6 to receive a special UI Skin for each race. Additionally, log in between March 6 and April 3 to receive a Portrait and Decal.

OMG.
I remember playing some Starcraft, though mostly single-player, before Broodware came out. Just a couple matches in multiplayer (LAN) before Broodwar though.
I thought first, yeah, after WARcaft and the success of the movie Starship Troopers we now get STARcraft. How not imaginative ...
... though I liked the campaign when I got to the zerg. Organic, vile, swarmy. YESSS!

20 years feels like an eternity, holy shit. I still remember playing Starcraft for the first time at my friend's place and trying to complete those campaign missions. :D

Wow, what a run it has been

Happy 20th birthday! Crazy how time flies, i still remember my first games, being completely clueless about everything but still having fun and going for zerg. Then bw came and i fell in love with dts and went P. Still feels like yesterday

I remember not being very good at the game, I would mass carriers on the easiest difficulty and I thought I was a pro.

Started to play SC as a student 20 years ago and the game was with me allmost half of my life. Now my 6yo son is standing next to me, watching the game, knowing all the characters and wishing he can handle to play soon. Starcraft floats through the time. Best game ever and nothing will ever change it.

The best game ever is Starcraft II.

Starcraft has done so much for me. I've played BW and SC2 a lot, met some awesome people, made some friends and had tons of fun. All thanks to one (two) game(s). Even though I'm not as interested in the game as I've been a few years ago, I'm still coming back to this site to watch tournaments and read random threads. Starcraft is the only game to have a real impact on my real life.

In all seriousness, StarCraft the game was great, but it was the community of people that would help to define the person I've become. The... old person... I've become apparently .
PS - I'm glad to see this whole TeamLiquid thing has worked out.

Starcraft made me and my cousin get our first ever jobs. Broke college freshmen, got to work night-shift admins at internet cafe so we can LAN with all our friends. After all-nighters, the owner would come to open in the morning and we'd be passed out, face on the keyboard. He'd wake us up, give us coffee and send us to class
..gawd I'm old..

I've got my original Starcraft CD pinned to the wall next to my Starcraft pro signature stuff. I've loved this game since I was eight, and I'm never stoppin'. :D
Looking forward to this "event." It's just going to be a month of being reminded of good Starcraft memories.

20 years later, It's still my #1 game. Nothing can top it.

First memory of playing original SC was b.net and asking people, what do these red bars mean and why is everyone talking about this "lag?" What is "lag"?! lol

How old am I?
I still recall being super excited at playing BNet and direct cable connection for the first time after having only played vs the AI.
In my first game on BNet I 4pooled some guy and when I reached his base he already had 4 zealots lined up (unrallied) outside his gateway. For ages I was convinced that the Koreans were that much better than us humans hahaha I couldn't join any other games because of the terrible lag.
And my then 12 year old brother would beat our uncle by just using zealots and no other tech hahahahaha. For some reason my brother figured out by himself that he should be making probes non-stop back then. Years later we found that my uncle had a stash of BW guides in his house hahahaha.
In a 2v2 bnet game my then 12 year old brother got eliminated and float his only surviving building to his ally's base and typed "I'll help you with wraiths" .... and then realise that he had no supply depots (or scvs) hahahahaha. His ally proceeded to win the game 1v2.
We had like 60 apm back then.
My old bones ache.
