It's highly likely that GSL will just move their semifinals if they advance to semis. Both parties will do their best for players to be able to compete in both leagues.

Both parties? WESG probably won't give a fxxk.
WESG ended up making accomodations for Pyeongchang didn't they? Although there isn't much you can do with a large multi-day international tournament.

WESG simply ran online due to VISA issues.
This is not fully correct, we indeed had some accomodations for IEM players in terms of scheduling - as well as IEM pulled efforts from their side to make WESG participants feel better. Big companies and tournaments are working much closer with each other than many people think.
I have to imagine whoever is in charge of player travel/accommodations is embezzling money because there is no way a tournament with a $400,000 prize pool can't afford better.

Apparently they had a very good hotel booked that pulled out at the last minute. This may be the only place available nearby for so many people.

I think it's the same hotel but with less mold.
That's so weird to only post nice pictures then after walking through moldy corridors.
Or maybe he is in a completely different wing or even building and just didn't see any of it.

Problem is those places look very expensive, I doubt a lot of players would move there out of their own pocket. Cloud9 won $500K the other week so it's not suprising they did.

True, but this hole quite frankly looks like a health hazard worth getting out of.

The tweet is still wrong though, Reynor is also there and still 15.
yeah I think technically time is the youngest player to qualify since reynor didn't but is replacing rail, but reynor is certainly the youngest to be present at the tournament.

The setup at the event is not great, 60hz monitors :/.

60hz monitors seems really weird for an event this big. 140hz is almost essential for games like csgo.
I guess it doesn't effect sc2 players too much. But the guys like very high APM will probably suffer more.

Competitive PC gaming needs to be played on high fresh rate monitors period. On fixed 60Hz monitors uncapped framerate will feel juddery, capping at 60fps with vsync adds input lag which will affect the progamers.

Poor Serral.
They are doing this so it's not too one-sided and Serral has some close games.

I agree completely, although I still think it will have a worse effect on players like Serral or Maru who really use their speed and mechanics to outplay people. Someone like sOs who apparently has diamond level APM (according to IEM) would cope better.
