Nobody can do that realistically. No, not even stuchiu. It gets even tougher because you are basing current results on past results (aka soO was a god => beating him means a lot). The point isn't to say that the best players of preparation based play would dominate weekend as well (even though your small sample size here doesn't prove they would not), it's more or less to say that weekend tournaments would be more competetive if the whole korean pool would play in every single one of them. Just like in starleagues.

For me 2016 marks the seventh year I am following starcraft (started with BW in 2009 by watching GomTV's Averatec Intel Classic series cast by Tasteless and SuperDanielMan - whatever happened to that guy anyway?), then continued with SC2. I've been following these players since the very beginning, so seeing them retire does feel like growing up, like moving on.

It gets even tougher because you are basing current results on past results (aka soO was a god => beating him means a lot). of course. but he is the only one that put his criteria on paper and wrote a ranking. and a damn good one. by that criteria, Taeja is #3 I have yet to see a similar list with that much effort. maybe you could write one? ![]() On June 06 2016 03:28 The_Red_Viper wrote:The point isn't to say that the best players of preparation based play would dominate weekend as well (even though your small sample size here doesn't prove they would not), it's more or less to say that weekend tournaments would be more competetive if the whole korean pool would play in every single one of them. Just like in starleagues. small sample size? there is not a single korean player that won so many international tournaments as taeja. how is every single korean that tried to a small sample size? i just pointed out a few of the notable koreans that tried and failed. and try they did and personally I dont value preparation based play above weekend tours. Zest won the last GSL while being quite bad at playing vs Zerg when he did not have time to prepare. do you value a general that can win more fights any day higher than the one that can win more fights but with time to prepare? definetly not :D

I remember recording both the INno and Rain matches (you can find them below), I was definitely awed by TaeJa's play (and the use of nukes vs Rain!). I've always liked the long games. + Show Spoiler +

P/s: U miss Taeja vs Zest and Taeja vs Solar, those games really point out his game sense in difficult situations.
