Welcome to this month's top streamers list!

Huh? What's this?
I run Fuzic - which collects statistics and rankings of StarCraft II live streams - and these threads are a summary of the viewer numbers for the past month. They are a continuation of Conti's threads. Check previous month's thread for more info on the differences between these threads and Conti's.

Data is sourced from fuzic, and additional up-to-date stats may be found there. But in these threads - which I will try to post at the beginning of every month - there will be a monthly summary so you can get a quick overview of that month's viewer numbers.

Differences with last month
  • Some streams were not ranked correctly due to problems with very long streaming sessions and streams that were live during the transition from one month to another. These inaccuracies have been fixed (and the rankings for past months have been recalculated). Thanks to LDaVinci, JimmyJRaynor and Winter for reporting these problems.
  • The table now also lists the time streamed in hours, in addition to the more readable "1d 4h"-style format. Thanks to desRow for this suggestion.
  • As always, suggestions and requests are welcome!

Inclusion criteria or: why is Winter in the list‽
The rankings list any stream that is reported on by the APIs of the various streaming services (Twitch, Azubu, etc). I have no way of verifying to what extent someone's viewers are legitimate, and therefore will not independently ban someone from the rankings. Please do not start (another) discussion about this in this thread.

The lists
"VxH" is the average amount of viewers multiplied by the amount of hours the streamer has streamed during that month. The list is sorted by this metric, as it gives a good impression of the streamer's activity through the month.

You can click the links below the charts for additional stats and a list you can sort by whichever metric you prefer.

(Full ranking - note that these include streams in which events were streamed, and the above ranking does not)

Note that some matches may be missing: this part is reliant on whether the matches were listed in TL's calendar

A belated response to last week's thread since I didn't want to bump it -

On May 25 2016 23:07 WinterStarcraft wrote:
Thank you for updating the site which myself, and many other sc2 streamers use to keep track of sc2 stats/events that sites like socialblade (I used during the couple months of fuzic downtime) fail to really help with information.

A few things personally I've noticed are the Saturday/Sunday carryovers. I doubt it carries into monthly stats but there are many times when a 6-12 hour stream (Saturday to Sunday is frequently a popular stream time) does not show up in weekly fuzic stats. I assume this is because the reset timer is sometime during the stream and may discount the stream entirely.

It seems this doesn't have quite the effect on monthly stats but the site is based on weekly numbers so it is relevant to that. If I wanted to dive into stats I could probably come up with a few hours missing but in comparing my twitch stats to the post it is within 5%.

This is personal opinion from here. Judging the montly events based on amount of viewers does not accurately reflect interest or following in certain events (like foreign finals etc). I think the relevant basis would either be as compared to relevant events (aka WCS Spring 2015 finals to WCS Spring 2016 finals) or possibly to overall TWITCH viewers. The events surpassing a subjective view count isn't especially informative or helpful. I think things like unique viewer counts or regular viewers could be incredibly helpful, and it is possible both Blizz and/or ESL have those stats, but like even my (or any partnered streamers) viewer details, isn't open to the public.

Thanks again for putting this together.

Good feedback. I've checked it and there were indeed some problems with the week/month turnovers, which should be fixed now (and for the previous months as well).

I agree that the top events list loses some meaning when it's not put into context. It's not always possible to find a good event to compare to, however, especially not with WCS changing its format every year. Comparing it to the overall viewer count on Twitch is an interesting idea, and worth looking into. I don't have that number available for the past but I'll see if I can track it from now on and show it in future charts.

As for the "events > 15,000 viewers", I mainly added that because I feel there is some correlation between the average view count and the amount of big events - a month with fewer big events will be a slower month overall as well. So obviously the average will be higher for months with WCS finals, etc. The 15,000 cutoff is arbitrary, of course, and if anyone knows a better way to put the monthly average into context I'll be happy to change the graph.

I would really appreciate it if we could for once have one of these threads without a discussion about Winter. As I said in the OP:

Inclusion criteria or: why is this stream in the list‽

I have no way of verifying to what extent someone's viewers are legitimate, and therefore will not independently ban someone from the rankings. If you really disagree with him being there, just ignore #1 and start reading the list from #2, it's not that big of a deal.

If you honestly didn't want to have a discussion about winter, what you will really do is:

"Inclusion criteria or: why is Winter in the list".

I hoped people would understand that my general statement also covered Winter, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to make it as clear as possible.

by now people should know it's pointless to discuss winter. everything has been said, there is no 100% proof and we just have to ignore him if we think he's fake.

No, we know he is viewbotted. Winter has said so himself. What he also says is that he can't stop the viewbotting. Make of that what you will.

Why not just ban these people?... The thread just turns to trash otherwise.

And pls man, for your own good... get over it.

It's like Winter is your girlfriend and you just can't let go... You're still hanging onto to this from 2 years ago?

Or by all means, start another match-fixing thread. A better spend of your energy?

Because Winter isn't using viewbots to average 1000 viewers, He's also been cleared by Blizzard and Teamliquid that his average viewers are legitimate.

Basically it means you're all a bit butthurt and really can't accept the fact that he can manage over 700 subs and 1500 viewers.....

I want to ban people for following around their TL/SC2 ex-girlfriend/Winter (who doesn't even know who you are) like a psycho-celebrity-stalker to every chat where Winter's name is mentioned and then harassing EVERYONE in the thread with their broken dreams and tears about Winter ignoring their constant flames in his chat.

I GET IT DUDE... YOUR HARD ON FOR WINTER KNOWS NO END.

IF HE COULD HAVE JUST NOT VEIW BOTTED SC2 SCENE SAVED, BUT WHY WINTER WHY?!

If you (or anyone else that reads this) is one of those people, I want you to wake up tomorrow and while you look yourself in the mirror ask yourself this question,

"What the fuck am I doing in my life that makes me unable to get over someone that viewbotted 2 -3 years ago?"

People are raped and murdered everyday, but instead of pouring my energy into doing something about that I'm going to get on TL to flame Winter. Then after that I'm going to Winter's live chat and pull out my hate boner for all to see.

IT'S NOT EXHIBITIONISM, IT'S JUST THE TRUTH... WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BAN ME FOR TELLING THE TRUTH?!

You can see all events since July 2013 sorted by peak viewers here. Though that doesn't account for viewers via Blizzard's own site, so in case of Blizzcon at least the number is off.

Shame on TL for endorsing a reddit witch hunt/hate mob when they banned Winter back in the day, this is the result. He got cleared but everyone's still obsessed over that reddit "investigation" thread, it's reddit after all we all know how things go when a bunch of teenagers decide they can investigate things (cough Boston marathon bombings...)

Winter has never been cleared. Stop declaring that he has. His stream is most certainly viewbotted. If I recall TL refeatured him as there is no way to prove that it was him that paid to do so. Nothing more and nothing less. If he has been cleared it is up to you to post a link that declares so.

We're not declaring that viewbots have never been on Winter's channel. Because it obviously HAS happened, just like with a wide number of twitch channels, but just because a view-botnet has been released on a channel it does not mean that the owner of the channel has bought a paid botnet service. Malicious attacks are common, and if it's a hacked botnet the operator doesn't have to PAY to tarnish or damage anyone's reputation, they're just enjoy releasing their bots on the next unsuspecting victim or to DDoS the next target.

But that's not what we're referring in that Winter is 'clear'.

It means that Winter's actual current average viewer count are, quote "more than good enough to be featured. "
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/480649-revised-featured-stream-requirements-for-2015?page=27#528

And again judging from his 750 odd subscribers, average 1k max 2k viewers, it seems to back up that at least over the last 6 months, these are legit numbers. No, Winter isn't Viewbotting to get 1.2k viewers at 4am in the morning with the next stream at 300viewers with some rerun. That's literally his niche, he's developed it and it works.

Winter usually streams like 10 hours a day almost 7 days a week, being accessible to a wide range of timezones across the globe. With good production quality, playing all the races to atleast masters level and high uptime, why wouldn't he get viewers?
Even the blind haters must be starting to wonder how he's still around if all of his viewers are viewbots?

As your very link provided said "The original investigation showed that his stream was a target of botting, but there was no way to establish beyond reasonable doubt the person who was responsible for the botting." It is as all the same to which I have recalled. Why call me a hater for writing the exact same thing as your link? You yourself admit he has never been cleared of viewbotting. He has never been cleared simply becuase it would be impossible to prove whether he was responsible for the viewbotting. That his channel was viewbotted for years and accrued viewers because of it is beyond doubt.

Of course he's never been 'cleared'. No one is under a obligation to prove that something didn't take place. That's retarded. But it seems when it comes to Winter we all take logic and reason and flip it on it's head. Now all of a sudden somehow he needs to prove a negative, which is even more impossible than proving that he was responsible.

But besides from that, now based on your what... emotional evidence? It's 'beyond doubt' that his channel has been viewbotted for 'years' and now he has somehow 'tricked' all those people into consistently tuning into his stream....

The times when Winter's channel has been targeted by viewbots is quite clear. I even remember one time where his stream was targeted and his title was 'Actual Viewbots', 10k viewers. The stream title obviously making fun of the fact that someone was targeting his stream. Taking that incidences such as these which quite obviously NOT his doing are possible, it's a giant leap to 'his channel was viewbotted for years', for which you have exactly 0 evidence for.. the exact opposite of beyond doubt.

Honestly, if you went and crucified every twitch channel that was the target of viewbots you probably wouldn't have many left. But it seems that people have such emotional chip on their shoulder when it comes to Winter that they'll throw reasonable logical processing out the window and weight any circumstantial evidence that aligns with their view so highly.

Bottom line.... Winter is legitimately at #1 at the moment. If you really think people subscribe and watch him now because he was using viewbots regularly in the past (not sure how he managed to pay for those bots for years if his viewers weren't legit) that's your opinion, not fact.

I hate to discuss Winter any further but when I use pure logic he certainly has viewbots considering his chat activity and the content of his streams.
Obviously logic isn't enough to punish someone as long as there is no 100% proof.

:D I completely agree.

That or thank him! Because he has the highest viewership for this game!

It's amazing how all these people that claim to "love the game" shit on the guy who invests massive amounts of time into improving viewership for sc2.

Kinda backwards... Without Winter at least one thousand more people on a daily basis wouldn't give a fuck about this game.
