I guess with Proleague being on Mon/Tue/Sat for round 3 they couldn't really get 2 days per Challenge group?

I don't think it's as pronounced as you think; GSL has Code A as well.
120 guaranteed games in Ro.24 + bracket ro.16 in SSL vs 24 Bo5s in Code A (72-96 games) 8 groups in Ro.32 (80-120 games) ro.16 group stage playoffs
So just a bit more than 1/2 the games up to the playoff stages probably. Also, the current schedule has the season ending in mid-September; surely you can push that back a bit, or use Proleague broadcasting days once SPL is over?
It's especially weird given that I think SPOTV is broadcasting LCK Bo3s at 12pm on Thursdays (I think?).
All in all, I don't understand anything about this. Seems like it's shafting the Korean crowd who go to the games every evening.

Yeah, I don't know, I was just looking for a convenient excuse, and not enough broadcast time per week was the best I came up with. I doubt they'll get much of a crowd at 1 pm on a work day. I mean I don't think the SPOTV higher-ups are too hot on SSL, but surely they could have thought of something better for the Korean audience.

Oh whoops, getting mixed up with all the changes. Anyway, let's see if what it's like on Day 1. Gonna be fully on VODs for SSL then...

I mean I guess on the plus side I can watch some Challenge before going to university on Thursdays then. Maybe they'll even reboot their Twitch or Azubu streams.

According to the LOL LCK schedule, league will be played Monday - Saturday in KR @ 8pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and unless my googling is wrong it looks like SPOTV will be broadcasting.
Looks like league has kicked SSL out of the evening time slot; unless I'm wrong, Proleague could follow...

Well GTR already tweeted that (because SPOTV got LCK broadcasting rights) PL will be on Monday, Tuesday (1 match each, 5pm KST) and Saturday (2 matches, 6pm KST). It's not quite as drastic for PL, but not great either.
SPOTV pls
