Today was the turn of the StarLeague qualifiers and just like yesterday's GSL qualifiers there were ups and downs and the odd foreigner trying out too! First off let's go through the noteable changes to StarLeague, this qualifier was to determine the 24 players heading into the "StarLeague Season 2 Challenge League" which is 4 groups of 6, in a best of two format. However this format is pretty interesting, as the two maps are determined by the players preferences, this map selected by the player is called "home" match and the opponent's preference is the away match. Rankings in the group are determined by results first then as a tiebreaker those with more away map wins will triumph over those with fewer. Sound familiar football fans?
NoRegreT was first up in the morning session, he managed to get to the final but lost to Trap and Hush respectively. Scarlett also was in action again but she got unstuck by running into herO before managing to get to the loser final before meeting a familiar foe in Bomber for a place in StarLeague, unfortunately after a good start she fell 2-1 to the Bronzed Bomber and thus bombed out at the last hurdle. They were not the only noticeable players to drop out though, with the likes of INnoVation , Dream and ByuL all failing to qualify for this season StarLeague. Also there would be no repeat of our protoss president MC as he also failed to qualify with losses to BrAvO and Trust.

next week we have 3 days of proleague and cross finals. If they rush everything Korean SC2 stops mid july.
Interesting format and not totally retarded like the initial season 1 format, nice to see new stuff.

Stops mid july if they rush it? Weds Friday for GSL they have 24 bo5 Code A games to start with at 4 a day that is a month's worth then you have ro32 groups which again is another month of 2 groups a week and we are in August before we in knock out stage. Thursday we get once a week s2sl. They have challenger groups into round of 16 which is going to be another 6 weeks from then on. September is most likely we will be without sc2 in Korea now xd
so if we include the preseeded players (top 4 from last season), we have 6 KT players 5 JA players 5 Afreeca Freecs players 4 SSG players 4 SKT players
Innovation and Dark taking each other out as well is a good thing.
I'm just afraid of Zest, but hopefully someone takes him out before Zest meets Maru. Zest is pretty much the only guy I'm afraid of at this point, maybe Dark as well but yeah well Dark might get innovated.
No Parting either, so that's a good thing. All these big names which used to be trouble for Maru are out of the picture atm, just because Maru is so consistent.
