I'm not a korean elitist, just being serious here: the one who wins DH would still probably not be able to get in Code S. I don't like things like "The fiercest SC2 competion to date": it's just a laughable PR statement.

I'm inclined to believe you, but listen to this list: choya, reality, bravo, shine, drgling.

Can we honestly not believe that Nerchio or Mana or Snute couldn't beat any of them? Actually if this competition was online, I would say that Neeb could probably take any of them.

I think if there was a year for a foreigner to get in, this would have been the one, as it had a number of lower A/B teamers, and foreigners have a decent track record vs b teamers.

Agreed, I think a foreigner could make it in this year's format. But I still wouldn't bet on them

the probability that an underdog plays another underdog is pretty low. They'd probably get a much tougher opponent

I guess adding "...outside of Korea" after every superlative would get pretty tedious.

There's also the option to just avoid mentioning something obviously silly.

We are in the realm of speculation, but I think neither Nercio or Mana (maybe Snute) would consistently win in an up&down group with any three of those. With all due respect for them.

Nope. Foreign pros said that being able to ladder against koreans massively improved their skill. This opportunity is gone thanks to Blizzard. Foreign skill levels are going to be incredibly low in comparison to even aversge koreans. The skill gap will increase. Hyping this tournament with such texts is plain bullshit. A lie. It basically says "hey our product features the best." While it does not. Lies. Fraud.

Maybe they could win but lets not underestimate the amazing ability of Korean to kill every drop of sc pride left in the foreigner scene.
Remember when power house like Departure, Keen, First, BBoongBBong and Losira came to Europe last year and procede to beat Europe finest, in a dark, empty theater, while a English man who had no idea what he was doing there made some awkward jokes.

That was hard to watch.

Yes, yes we get it. You don't have to go through this again every single time. Now take your toxicity and go play on reddit or something.

In the same vein, other people can express their disinterest in your expression of your dislike, can't they?

At least be creative with it, the competition in bashing WCS on TL is fiercer than that in Circuit events themselves.

Of course they can, I have not said anything against that. In terms of creativity - well, no.

Quebec actually has language police that make sure French is the main language in the province. I wouldn't be surprised if they mandated French main stage.

Quebec language law doesn't impose any requirements on the language spoken on stage afaik. Dreamhack might have a French main stage to cater to the local audience, but they aren't obligated to.

I just put him there because he was one of the weaker pros who was in Code A. puCK beat him 3-1, and mana recently beat him 3-1 as well. Both of these results were in 2016, and seeing as how this happened twice, had a good foreigner faced up against him (or especially Protoss before the adept nerf and pylon change), it wouldn't have been as shocking as it would if a foreigner beat a high level Korean.
