All 4 players received minimal playing time during the 2015 Proleague season, though Terminator had served as team captain since the T8 days. This leaves Jin Air with only 5 active players: Maru, sOs, Cure, Rogue, and Trap.
Edit: According to Jin Air, their contracts expired and they decided not to extended. So they are full free agents; they can sign with another team and play in Proleague next season.
Just checked the stats, they got very few chances to play in Proleague : Symbol played 5 games, Check 2, Pigbaby 3 and Terminator only 1. Maybe it's better for them to leave, I hope they'll find a new team.
Good luck to all four. It's too bad to see Terminator leaving -- when he beat Taeja late last year in the starleague qualifiers I expected to see more of him this year. At least Pigbaby got his championship, albeit while not on JAGW.

Agreed. Terminator especially had good results in GSL and SSL season 1 and despite that got no opportunities in Proleague.
Wait... Did they arbitrarily leave or were they allowed to leave according to their contracts? This many players leaving a single team at the same time leads me to believe it is the latter of the two situations, but if they all chose to leave and break their contracts, does that mean they can't compete in Pro League again?

considering the situation it may be possible that this rule may have been either changed or even abandoned, maybe in an attempt to create a balanced 8th team with all stars and all that you'd have to have good players like rain and parting to make up for that.
I think we will have Bo5 2016 PL just based on Production and what Spotv can accommodate? If they keep it on Mon/Tues like this year, then yeah, I think Bo5 will still happen.

I'm thinking the latter as well? Contracts with the team ended and either the team or players chose not to renew / agree to new terms?

Let keep in mind that Jin Air made it to the proleague final. Without using any of those players. (jin air used pigbaby against SKT but he get rekted by sOo for missing a forcefield)

c.... come again?
HE'S OBVIOUSLY TROLLING!!!!!!!!
Not at all... I was quite serious
1. Maru is a great player, but not as "super-awesome best terran ever" as he's made out to be 2. JinAir Green Wings is a good team, but looking at their results it's obvious that they aren't a top-tier team by any means

They've quite clearly been the second best team in PL this year

Not very surprising considering that they barely got to play under Jin Air. I'm really sad for Terminator though, he seemed like a good captain. He appeared kinda out of nowhere in the S1 Starleague and actually turned out to be cool guy, then disappeared again. He will be missed. Who will Maru hug now? :c
Ooooooo I wonder who they'll pick up. Not too sure of which A-team/B-team names are out there (other than Creator). It'll be an interesting few months to see what happens.
Would be sick to see Creator join Jin Air and rolfstomp nerds again.....

Not going to happen if ProLeague is played Monday and Tuesday.
With that many players gone, I guess the chances of Bo7 for Proleague next year are practically gone sadly. But I do hope to see a couple of guys go to Jin Air, maybe one of the remaining Axiom fellas like Alicia, or Crank as a coach. Creator would also be great though.
On October 30 2015 11:33 lichter wrote: bo7 doesn't make any sense considering SPL now has the monday/tuesday slot as opposed to the weekend slot. bo5 is fine.
Trivia: SPL is held on Mon./Tue. beacuse of foreign tourneys, which are mostly held on weekends.
Oh PigBaby. That's a name I haven't heard mentioned in a while. But I remember him specifically because he was THE toss that was rofl slapping Taeja around in WCS when Taeja was considered GOD TIER. And he did it with nothing but mass observers and freaking gateway units. But yea wish these guys the best.
Bad news. If Jinair doesn't hire some new blood we can consider this a severe cut in their expenses (as opposed to players leaving due to little playing time).
Ouch, this hurts, especially Terminator leaving, he always seemed like the best captain. He always looked out for his team and helped them with build orders and such. I genuinely thought after GSL and SSL season one we might see more of him in the booth
Best of luck in the military Check and Terminator!
They used PigBaby in some of the later rounds, so a bit surprised. Always thought Check had huge potential. MB DRG, Check and Symbol can make some kind of Zerg only team..

Or you can look at the facts as they are, people retiring to go to the military, instead of jumping to conclusions.

Maybe I should've expressed my concerns differently. I doubt it though, we'll see.
Edit: The fact that some are going to do their mandatory military service doesn't mean that that's the reason why they're retiring btw.
As a Jinair fan it makes me sad since I like all of them but they have a much better chance of getting gametime joining another team, or looking for a spot on the 'new team 8' if there's a mercenary outfit in place
Always been a big fan of Symbol shame he has yet tor recapture his WOL form, maybe in LOTV
I always thought Terminator has a lot of potential too but he never really lived up to it. He was actually the captain from memory, although I assume that title will probably go to sOs now, Maru would be fine too but given he's a lot younger i'd assume they'll give it to sOs. Maybe we'll see Terminator again after military service.
Pigbaby was always amusing as a Myungsik style cheese artist
Check is well.... yeah. Even as a JinAir fan I can't say Check made any impact on me, he played badly in his few PL games and I wouldn't be surprised if retirement is permanent for him.
Symbol and Pigbaby are potentially good pickups for other teams though and it frees up roster space for Jinair to sign 1-2 up and coming prospect more players to join their core of sOs/Maru/Rogue/Trap/Cure
Pretty crazy that they only have 5 players on the roster; although all 5 are legit proleague level players - i'd assume they'll sign 1-3 more before the LOTV season
Keen was displaying a lot of upside late in the season, he'd be an okay pickup if they need a third terran, but they probably need a second zerg the most as a priority; DRG would be a good fit but I think he wants a foreign team from memory. I'd be ok with them signing Leenock too, but they'd better stay the hell away a certain protoss ex flash wolf who is also a free agent for obvious reasons. Resigning TRUE would be cool too.
They could always use one more protoss too, Creator would be a good bet and has history with Maru on Prime before Prime became the worst thing to happen to proleague ever. I'd actually be okay with Myungsik to replace Pigbaby in the protoss sniper role too
Wishlist (free agents only)
#1 DRG, #2 Creator, #3 Keen, #4 Myungsik
I hope they make plays for DRG and Creator, that would round out a great 7 player lineup to head into LOTV
I think both of them have very high skill ceilings and with a properly funded team and elite practice partners both could have a 50%+ winrate in PL moving forward (pretty sure DRG already did this season with Sbenu)
Well damn, but thankfully non of my favourites among them. Although I would've loved to see more of Check. I wonder where they will end up and who replaces them for Jin Air. They won't just keep it at 5 players right?
It is sad to see all these guys leaving the team, good practice partners, probably good friends ... I was happy, they were in the team with the three stars ... but of course, they did not get play time ... Sorry to see PigBaby leaving as his style was fitting nicely into the "non-standard play" of the three ...
And sad to see the "giving up" and going to the military. So good luck guys in your future lifes!
On October 30 2015 12:58 Seeker wrote: Wow, seriously? All 4 deliberately chose not to extend? Are they forming their own team maybe? Green Air Jin Wings?
Hell, I'd join a team called Gin Wings. Bloody love me some gin.
Keen actually looked decent at the end of round 4 of Proleague, even when his teammates in Prime seemed to have all given up. I wouldn't mind seeing him added to the roster of Jin Air Green Wings.
By given up you mean Yoda and B4 were matchfixing and TangTang isn't really proleague level
I'd love to see Keen and Creator get a shot on Jinair, I think Keen showed he can still be a Code S level player in the last few weeks, with nothing to play for and team mates and a coach that didn't care he was still giving it his best
I have no idea if Creator wants to join a PL team or
Didn't realise Myungsik wasn't a free agent so he's out I guess and as awesome as DRG would be he's headed to a non-Korean team probably. They do need another Zerg, maybe Leenock? But he never really regained his best form in this most recent season of PL. Assuming DRG is off the table I can't think of anyone better to add than some combo of Keen/Creator/Leenock since they'll need a couple more players to have some depth to their team for next round
Whoever the 8th PL team ends up being should def consider picking up Symbol and Pigbaby, they can both play well and with LOTV coming out who knows which players are going to be the best 6 months from now in the new meta
On October 31 2015 00:52 Darkdwarf wrote: Hopefully they'll sign Jaedong to make up for it :D
I hope not. KT needs a second Zerg.
you know that old kinda unspoken rule of no one from TBLS should be in the same team?
I'm pretty sure its still in effect on the account of this rule being based on star power and not just skill.
Meh. Bisu is out (or back depends on your pov). Stork is coaching. The rule don't apply no more.
If you follow SC2 (i think you do as much as BW but i might be mistaken) Life is pretty Starpowery with Stats and Flash next to him so i'm not sure about that.
But sure it would be really better if they could face each other. Flash vs Stork was a treat to watch even if the games were not always really good. And i don't want Symbol :p
TBLS was Taek Bang lee Ssang ? I'm not sure i remember the acronym really well.
