Confirmed players so far are Jaedong, Targa, Harstem, Huk, Showtime, and all of Team Liquid besides HerO with Taeja as a maybe, at least according to reddit

I didn't mean it in a sense that people shouldn't support HSC, more just in a sense that even at the smaller scale the tournament was one of the best in all of SC. It seemed unnecessary (and counter to the point) for HSC to become such a large scale event. There's obviously a decent amount of costs just in flights/hotels/food for 32 players (even if most are already in EU), but it'd be nice to see HSC keep it's small feel and continue to have tournaments every couple of months instead of go the way of NASL/IPL, etc.

They cover CS:GO as well as DotA2, Hearthstone etc as well. What they are doing is not "just a HSC thing" but a lot more than that. I know this sounds cynical but I'm willing to bet that without crowdfunding HSC wouldn't be that feasible for them.

The HSC will be in TaKes Flat (last tournament in TaKes flat!!) and the HSC X in the club was there to celebrate the 10th episode of it. HSC XI has the same scale then VI or more, same price pool, same place, almost same people.

I mean, I am glad they are getting funding, as HSC is arguably the most entertaining SC tournament, but seems like they don't manage their assets correctly and the community is being punished for it and not the organization. TakeTV didnt want another crowdfunding (for HSC XI) few months ago, reddit went "shitstorm" about it. You can find a few new videos about his new studio on his yt channel. It has absolutely nothing to do wit wrong financial management. The one was for the new studio, other one for HSC XI.

Take always said that he wouldn't feel good to organise another kickstarter because they did one not long ago and that there probably wouldn't be a HSC XI. But his fans said that no one cares about this and everybody wants another HSC so he eventually agreed (atleast that's what I got from the TakeTv stream, maybe I mixed something up) As a result, this crowdfunding was pretty spontaneous because the time ran out to organise the event. Well, that is my guess why they would do this during the crowdfunding and not before.

With that many days to go, I bet we'll see quite some completed stretchgoals as well!

I am not sure of that - now the minimum has been reached the donations seemed to have tailed off dramatically. I reckon the 15K goal is reachable. Besides, now we have to also donate to the starcrafts indiego campaign.

I happen to agree that it's become too similar to other tournaments. I miss 8-16 players just having a crazy weekend and wondering how they were going to manage day 2 hungover. Even if your favorite players were eliminated day 1 there was still a good chance of seeing them cast a few series. You never knew what crazy pairings you'd get and how they'd go. It was that interaction on the couch that really made the event. Now the couch is there, but it's following the tournament - not driving the show.

Without wcs points now, they can act like they did in HSC I - HSC IV (I think). The rules to be a WCS- tournament really killed HSC atmosphere.
