How do you feel about advancing into the Ro16?
I was placed into Group A so I had less time to practice than I thought. But I think I was able to advance through easier than expected because I practiced real hard with the time I was given.
You’ve been to the Ro16 six seasons in a row. How do you feel?
I think it’s good but I’m a little embarrassed as well. That’s because I still haven’t won a championship once for GSL (laughs). So I will show a form where I win the championship no matter what for this season.
It looked like you had completely deciphered all of GuMiho’s styles just from watching game one.
I’ve lost to GuMiho a lot before, but now I’ve completely deciphered his style. He played like he always does for today’s matches so I was able to win pretty easily.
For game one of the winners’ match, you made a comeback in a very disadvantageous game. Can you explain what the situation was like for you at that time?
I had noticed what build order Sorry was going for but I had no idea that I was going to lose that many probes. I thought that I had lost. There was also the fact that Sorry decided to play it safe afterwards but I think ultimately my decision to go for high templars worked out well. That was a situation that barely come up even during practice.
Recently, it seems like fans are saying that you have been performing poorly. What do you think?
I don’t really know. I don’t really check up on what the community says (laughs). I normally don’t pay attention to things like that anyways (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank my team for sending me my gear. My results have not been the best lately so even my team has been concerned about me. So I want to thank them for continuing to believe in me. I want to let my fans know that I will make it really far this time around so I hope they will continue to watch me. Lastly, I want to thank FanTaSy hyung for helping me with practice.

You advanced into the Ro16 as second from your group. How do you feel?
Honestly I still get shaken up even now. I don’t know if it’s because I keep losing on the GSL stage these days or what but I feel like I’m getting smaller. I think I was able to change things up a little with today’s victory.
You ended up losing the game because your hidden expo got revealed.
I got flustered because I didn’t think it was possible to get scouted during that time. So I was unable to calmly respond to it.
Were you satisfied with your overall performance today?
I was not satisfied with my performance today because I showed a form where I was clearly lacking a lot in the basics. But I was anticipating being able to win with one big bang attack so I told myself that I still had what it took.
Rain stated that he didn’t even use 55% of his skills.
Our games ended so quickly that I don’t think he even used 50% of his strength (laughs). If we meet again next time, I’ll get revenge no matter what.
Why do you think you are showing performances where you are lacking in the basics?
I think it will be good if I just stop getting nervous during televised games. I don’t think that will happen though unless I win several more times in the future. In order for me to establish better results, I’m going to have to keep on winning from here on out.
You get to participate in the group selections. Do you have plans to talk a lot this time?
It’s much more fun to observe the other players (laughs). Honestly, I’m the kind of guy who likes to just observe what’s going on around me rather than talk a lot myself, so I don’t think it will be any different this time around. But that’s not to say I won’t at least try once or twice (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
Now that I am wearing the MVP uniform and performing in Korea, I want to make sure I don’t disappoint my fans. I hope they will cheer me on a lot.

This is your first time advancing into the Ro16 for Code S. How do you feel?
It is my first time so it is really good. It’s such a different feeling when you accomplish something for the first time, no? That’s how I feel right now. I also feel like I’m going to be able to do really well from here on out because I have confidence now and that makes me feel even better.
The players you had to face were all really strong players.
Honestly I was feeling pressured, but I was able to regain my confidence as I practiced. My score against Dark was five straight losses and no wins so it was scary at first, but after I hear that SK Telecom had come back from a training camp, I was confident in my own victory. I told myself that it makes no sense that I would lose to someone who just came back from having fun.
You fell victim to a proxy hatch strategy for game one against Dark.
I anticipated it somewhat and I would have been able to block it fine if I had just placed my force fields down properly. But since it was the first game, my hands were not warmed up all that well yet. I think I wasn’t able to block it because I messed up. A proxy hatch strategy is not a victorious build. I lost because I got greedy about my number of probes instead of feeling greedy for my natural. I think I’ll be more than capable of blocking it next time.
Did you think that you were more than capable of blocking it initially?
I fell victim to it one time against Symbol in the qualifiers. So I was already thinking about how I would be able to block it.
Game two against PartinG must have been really disappointing.
If I had just gone up to three gates then the game would not have ended as quickly but I ended up building only two so I think that’s why I took on so much damage. Because of that I began to get angry at myself.
You went for a proxy gate strategy for the final game as well.
It was all according to plan. I once saw PartinG build a proxy gate in a location that could not be easily scouted. I think PartinG went for a proxy gate because he was thinking just like I was.
In that situation where you could have ended up getting into a draw against PartinG, you pulled off an unbelievable decision.
I think PartinG was aiming for a draw using his zealots and cannons but I was able to win because he misplaced his cannons. I couldn’t help but think that the officials had laid down the draw decision a little too easily. I was planning on figuring out the distance for everything but then I became flustered because I was asked if I was going to accept a draw. After I realized that I was within distance, I assured myself that I would be able to grab the victory as long as I played slowly.
It looks like things are going well for you this year.
Last year, I thought to myself that I was stuck inside a cage. It was difficult to take the pressure off myself and it was difficult to stack up experiences. So the fact that I have been given such a good opportunity like this makes me feel great.
Anything else you would like to say?
I am sincerely grateful to SBENU's president, Sonic. It is so good that he was able to create a great environment where I can just focus on gaming. I am normally the kind of person who goes through a lot of ups and downs when it comes to emotions so I often need a person to preside over me. Because of that, I am thankful to the many people around me who have been helping me out with that.

You have advanced into the Ro16 nine seasons in a row. How do you feel?
I knew that this was my 13th time making it into Code S but this is my first time finding out that I have advanced into the Ro16 nine times. If I make it into the Ro16 ten times in a row then I can’t help but think that they’ll need to make a PartinG award. Right now I keep on establishing an awesome record but I won’t stop here and keep on working until I can establish a GSL finals five times appearance record just like soO did. However, I don’t want to establish a five times second place finish (laughs).
In your match against MyuNgSiK, you went for proxy gate strategies.
I played what my hands told me to do for today’s match. I’m the type of guy who normally plays the way I want to for Bo3s. Since the end result was that I was able to advance through, I am satisfied with the fact that I was able to entertain the fans through that game three. If I had gotten eliminated, then I think that would have seriously affected my mentality.
You disappointingly lost to MyuNgSiK because you misplaced your cannon.
I asked myself if it was possible for him to hit the cannons from below, and then as the situation unraveled itself I found out that the distance actually worked out for him. If I had been able to force out a draw then I think an article could have been published where my unbelievable sense of game could have come to light so it was really disappointing.
Game one against Dark must have been disappointing.
Even before I left SK Telecom, I would lose many times to Dark during practice. So since I told myself that he could probably look through all my strategies, I prepared real hard. Honestly, I also lost a lot to soO hyung so I have a kind of trauma when it comes to facing SK Telecom Zergs, and because of that, I get nervous a lot. I think that’s why I lost.
”PartinG is really good at placing down force fields.”
I have this thought that Protoss can always win against Zerg if you just place down your force fields well. There really isn’t anyone who can place down force fields better than I can. I think that’s why I do so well in PvZ. I’ve always played aggressively ever since the WoL days so I would practice placing down force fields countless of times. Because of that, my hands just automatically know what to do now. Since I keep using force fields in a sharp manner, I think now I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll get cut by my own sharp force fields just by placing my hands on them.
How do you plan on doing the group selections?
I think Terran players should really be conscious of me. I don’t lose to anyone when it comes to PvT. But I can’t help but feel like if someone tries to provoke me then I would end up picking that person. Of course that will also be based on who provokes me (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank our sponsors MSI, WANIN BANKS, BenQ, and Joy Gear. My games have been going really well recently, so I want to take this momentum as a stepping stone to becoming an amazing player who advances into the finals for StarLeague, KeSPA Cup, and GSL.
I have my StarLeague matches tomorrow but even if I do end up losing, then I’ll just blame it on my own skills and just prepare even harder for next time.

How do you feel about advancing to your first Code S Ro16 after your debut?
I think I played the game of life today (laughs). I think today’s matches are the kind that I can enjoy for the rest of my life whenever I decide to watch them.
You must have been really worried after your group got announced. How did you prepare?
I did think that it wasn’t going to be easy once I saw my group. But I had confidence in my TvZ skills and I got the feeling that I was perfectly capable of winning as I was practicing.
Was there any pressure behind facing former teammate soO?
We know each other’s style so well so there was a lot of pressure. There were times where I could have won easily and times where it was exactly the opposite. As expected, soO was really good.
Game one on KSS was truly great. How did you feel after the match?
I shouldn’t have taken that much damage from vipers but since I did I thought to myself that it was going to be difficult. But I was able to pull off a comeback because I didn’t give up until the very last moment. I can’t help but think that was my best SC2 game ever.
You saw soO’s hatchery pretty late. How come?
I was so focused on his spine crawlers so I saw his hatchery late. I saved my cloak mana because I was only thinking of his spine crawlers, so when I saw his hatchery my heart sank. When I was attacking that last spine crawler I was thinking to myself, “Please… Please…” In the past, I would think about how much fun it would be to win in that kind of situation. Since it actually happened like this, I am so happy and thrilled.
Your concept against Rogue was different though.
I played mech twice in a row so I felt like I had to switch it up. Thankfully my attempt at a change ended up working out well so I was able to grab the victory.
It looks like your performance has gotten stronger since you have been stacking up those overseas tournament experiences. How do you feel about it?
It’s difficult to prepare for all those tournaments but I was able to realize that I really can pull it off if I really want to do it. I want to my very best so I can establish the best career possible.
How do you feel about getting to participate in the GSL group selections for the first time ever?
I’ve been watching the GSL group selections for all this time so getting to participate in one was my dream. I am honored that I actually get to participate in it this time. I also have a desire to create my own “honey group” so I think it’s going to be a fun group selections.
What are your goals for this season?
My goal is the championship. I don’t have the skills to win the championship right at this moment but I don’t think I can get better unless I set a goal for myself like winning the championship.
Anything else you would like to say?
Because so many fans found their way to the studio, I was able to find strength from that. I will continue to prepare real hard from here on out so that I can show a great form.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
I didn’t think I was going to go all the way to the final match. I had no idea that I was going to lose to FanTaSy hyung, but since I did, I got really nervous for the final match. Thankfully, since my opponent was Trust, I think I got a little less nervous because of that.
Are you bitter about the fact that you are the first Zerg to advance into the Ro16?
Zerg is weak right now so it is somewhat bitter. But I think this is an opportunity for me receive attention. Right now, ZvT is a little more difficult than ZvP.
Why is ZvT harder?
I can’t seem to think of a way to take down mech. Before, I used to be able to comfortably approach my games because I believe in swarm hosts, but now I have to replace the swarm host space with some other unit. But I do think that makes playing the game a bit more fun though.
You lost 0-2 to FanTaSy in the winner’s round. How come?
I kept on thinking about him meching on me so I went ahead and got rid of all the maps that I could have done well on. There was that and also FanTaSy hyung prepared really well beforehand. I think I’ll be able to win though if we meet again next time.
You made it to the quarter-finals last season. What are your goals for this season?
I want to make sure I step on to the finals stage this time. I don’t know yet about winning the championship, but I do want to play games on the finals stage.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to really thank coach Ha Tae Jun for staying back at the team house and helping me with practice even though we’re supposed to be on break starting today.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
Panic and I both know each other well since we were both on the same team once. In the cast of TvT, even though INnoVation is slumping right now, he is still such a strong player that I got worried about him.
What were the concepts for today’s TvP and TvT matches?
I was anticipating Panic to attack me early on. However, his style is so unique that it’s difficult to anticipate exactly what he’s going to do. But in the case of INnoVation, he played exactly as I anticipated him to.
You stated that you wanted to avoid Life in the Ro16. So then who would you like to face?
Everyone is so good then I don’t think there’s anyone that I can underestimate.
What kind of environment changes have taken place ever since the SBENU sponsorship?
I moved into the team house yesterday so I still haven’t deciphered that out yet (laughs). But president Sonic did promise that he would provide lots of support starting next month.
You have been producing results for quite some time now. What are your goals for this season?
My ultimate goal is the championship but for now I just want to take things one at a time as I advance up. My first and foremost goal will be advancing to the quarter-finals. I think that I need to work harder because I feel like my skills still haven’t reached their full potential.
Anything else you would like to say?
Because president Sonic has been giving us lots of support, it has been really helpful for practicing. And since supervisor Legend had to work hard for such a long time, I hope that everything will work out. I really want to thank my sponsor Red Bull and my fans for coming to cheer me on.

You difficultly advanced to the Ro16. How do you feel?
I think I’ve been able to easily advance into the Ro16 during all this time, but things haven’t been going well lately so advancing this time had me down to my very last breath. I’m disappointed in myself but the important thing was that I made it into the Ro16, so now I want to prepare hard so that I can play even better games.
What was the biggest obstacle from today’s matches?
I still had a chance to make it through even though I lost the winners’ match so it was okay. But since losing game three of the final match meant elimination, I was suffering internally when I saw how much of a disadvantage I was in when I lost my marines like that.
Out of the 8 players that have advanced into the Ro16, 4 are Terran players. Since TvT is not your best match up, how do you plan on overcoming this?
For some strange reason, whenever I play just TvT, I get in my own way and I can’t seem to overcome it. It was like that when I was playing against MMA hyung and the same thing happened against Bomber. I need to overcome this televised matches shyness.
Did you anticipate Panic to repeat his strategies that much?
Panic kept playing strategically today during our match. I did anticipate that he wouldn’t do simply plays. Since I fell victim to his plays, I do acknowledge that he was a rather difficult opponent but I think it will be okay to face him whenever it’s a boX format.
A lot of fans are worried about your poor form lately. What do you think about it?
I honestly didn’t know all too well about how the fans were feeling. It’s because I tell myself that as long as I have a comfortable mindset and keep practicing real hard, then I can win the championship someday, so I’m just waiting for that day to come.
Is it alright to expect increased results from you now that you’ve made it into the Ro16?
I told myself that the Ro16 was a place that I obviously had to advance to. I feel that I can come alive again if I establish good results for Proleague and win the GSL championship. I also feel like the game has been going better for me since I rested for a long time during break time.
Anything else you would like to say?
Not really (laughs). Since break time ends today, I will practice real hard from here on out so that I can establish good results for Proleague.

How do you feel about winning in the group of death and advancing to the Ro16?
I was feeling uneasy because my hands were not that warmed up for the first match so I am relieved that I was able to advance through.
How did you prepare for your matches today?
After practicing TvZ several times, I just mostly practiced on ladder.
Did it bother you that your opponent was ByuL?
It didn’t really bother me. I told myself that I wouldn’t lose as long as I practiced well.
Was the proxy rax on game three a planned out strategy?
It was improvised. I just went for it with the mindset of, “if it works, great, if it doesn’t, oh well.”
How did you prepare for your winners’ match against TY?
I think TY hyung came with a banshee response build order. I got the uneasy feeling that I would have to end up going all the way to the final match had I lost game one, but since I won game one, I got the thought that I could win. Once I saw what TY was doing for game three, I got the thought that I had won.
What are your goals for this season?
I have yet to win a GSL championship so I really want to play on the finals stage.
Any player that could hinder you the most from getting to the finals?
Aside from PartinG hyung, there’s really no one else.
Anything else you would like to say?
I am really grateful to the coach for coming to the studio with me and giving me advice.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16 of GSL for the first time ever?
It took me three years to get here so there’s a feeling of being delayed but I am really glad. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much today so I’m even more glad.
How come you weren’t expecting much?
Preparing for KeSPA Cup and for S2SL without taking any break these past couple of days has been absolutely exhausting. I lost all my energy (laughs). I wasn’t able to practice so I couldn’t spread creep and I couldn’t properly inject larvae. My basics were all wrong.
A lot of people have this notion that Zergs are good against Terrans on Expedition Lost. Did you feel anything after seeing the map?
Honestly, I was contemplating going for the hatchery rush but I decided to play safely since it felt like it wasn’t the right thing to do at the time. But I decided to play it too safely so the game actually ended up becoming more difficult. I was able to win because TY let his guard down. I didn’t even know that widow mines had blown up all my mutas. I just played while hoping for things to work out and they just did (laughs).
It seems like people are starting to say that you’re becoming the best Zerg now. What do you think about it?
That’s not the case at all. Life is the best. I’m doing well right now but I think that I still have a long way to go.
What are your goals for this season?
The goal is the championship. Out of both S2SL and GSL, I want to win at least one of them.
It looks like Zergs are struggling lately but overseas tournaments are filled with strong Zerg placements. What do you think about this?
I think ZvT is 50/50 but Protoss has the advantage in ZvP. Zergs are so limited in what we can do against them. But I think there is a solution there. We just need to experiment more.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank my fans for coming to cheer me on. I am also really grateful to coach OriOn for struggling with me for the past four days.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
I was anticipating that I would undergo hard fights. I especially had no idea that I would win that easily against Life. My luck was good.
Why did you anticipate hard fights?
First off, everyone in Group F were really good players. I too, had no idea that I would win this quickly.
For winners’ match game one, you went for an early game strategy.
I had a feeling that I was going to lose if I decided to go for a macro game. So I told myself that if I got lucky, then good for me. If I didn’t get lucky, then I would just go for the next game. I got the thought that I was going to win when I didn’t get caught going for proxy raxes. Life is really good on Overgrowth. That’s why I decided to go for an early game strategy.
You also finished off game two win a one hit timing rush. There are a lot of notions that Zergs have the advantage on Iron Fortress.
In my opinion, if you start off cross spawn then it’s good for Terran. I had a lot of fun with repears.
What are your goals for this season?
I want to avoid herO as much as possible (laughs). I want to advance to the finals in the most comfortable fashion possible.

How do you feel about winning in the final match?
I advanced through rather difficultly but it doesn’t really matter since I’m glad that I made it through.
You’ve been showing a poor form as of late for mirror matches.
I had a lot of instances where I lost because our build orders got crossed over. Personally, I don’t think it’s a matter of skill when you lose because of crossed over build orders. So I hope my fans won’t be that concerned about me.
Were you unable to anticipate the strategies that Bbyong would use today?
I had no idea that he would recycle a build order he already used in the past. I kept having this feeling that I was going into my games while losing the early game build orders.
You will take part in the group selections. You were already seed in.
I plan on creating one of those so-called “honey” groups so that I can advance through easily. It won’t matter which races are involved in my group.
This season’s goals?
Of course it’s the championship. I am not thinking about anything else.
Anything else you would like to say?
I am glad that I advanced into the Ro16. When I arrived at the studio, I realized that I had left my mouse pad back at the team house. So coach Hery actually went back and got it for me. I am very sorry about that and very grateful to him. I want to thank the supervisor and coach Ryu Won for always helping me out. I also want to thank my fans for always cheering me on. I also hope that our team will become close-knit and establish good results for Proleague.

How do you feel about advancing into the Ro16?
The fact that I’m glad that I won comes second to me because I feel a little sorry to Flash that I had to beat him since we’re close friends. But I’m not that concerned about it because I feel like he will do well and make it through as second for sure. I stated a lot that I was feeling confident, and I feel good that I was able to show that through my performance.
You say you’re good friends with Flash, but you tormented him quite severely throughout your match.
I don’t think there are things like friendship or anything like that involved when it comes to gaming (laughs). I feel that the inner devil in me appears whenever the game starts.
Your performances are very overwhelming. Are you satisfied yourself?
I feel very good. From a progamer’s standpoint, advancing through like this makes you happiest.
You almost fell victim to a cheese rush for game one. Did you get the thought that you might lose as well?
The optimization was so different. Even though he took that much damage early on, being able to execute that much optimization could only be accomplished through Flash. That’s why I was feeling uneasy even after I won but I was able to grab the upper hand during the build order battle so I was able to win easily for game two.
For the group selections, do you plan on going the benefit route or the honorable route?
I am the kind of guy who doesn’t usually put much focus on the group selections. These days I play with the mindset that I don’t really care who I face and I just do what needs to be done for me. But I do have the desire to not face Bbyong or get a Protoss in my group.
Anything else you would like to say?
I won the KeSPA Cup but I want to receive more recognition since it was only a tier 2 tournament. Because of that I will work even harder for this season fo GSL so I can make sure I win the championship. I won against Flash, but it was already agreed beforehand that I would buy dinner for us regardless of who won so I hope that will lighten his mood. I believe that he will advance through as second.
I want to thank coach OriOn for coming to the studio with me and for taking care of me a lot. I am really grateful. I also want to thank my fans for cheering me on.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
Of all my recent matches that I’ve had to endure, advancing through this one was the most difficult. I would have been really angry had I lost so I’m relieved that I won.
In your S2SL winner interview, you stated that you were worried about TvT. How did you feel after playing today?
While I was playing my match, I kept thinking that Flash was really good. I thought to myself that I was lacking a little when it came to concepts for TvT, but I think I was able to grasp the concept for TvT through today’s matches.
On a regular basis, does supervisor oov point out things about TvT a lot?
On a regular basis, supervisor oov will tell me that I’m good at TvP and TvZ, but I am bad at TvT. But I was able to win today, and I plan on cleaning up my TvT, so I think I’ll be able to get rid of that image.
After losing in the winners’ match, Flash had to do a rematch against you. Were you feeling confident?
Honestly, had herO fallen to the final match then I would have felt confident enough to win. But since Flash fell down, I thought to myself that this was going to get a bit difficult.
So you’re saying that you would have been confident against herO even though his momentum has been one of the best lately?
I also personally think that I am good at TvP. I’m not saying that I would have won for sure, but I think that I had what it took to pull off the victory.
When you did that ultimate attack on game three, how did you grab the timing?
It felt to me like Flash was only going for main base drops. After I scanned and saw that he only had siege tanks in that vicinity and no vikings, I immediately decided to go for it.
You usually go for bio for TvT. Do you plan on changing that up now?
These days, everyone is doing mech for TvT. I am alone in doing bio. But as I keep on playing, I get this feeling that mech is stronger.
So then why did you prepare bio for today’s matches?
I had no time. I only practiced using bio while preparing for Proleague and S2SL. I plan on practicing mech now.
The maps are a little different now. Did that cause any problems with practicing?
I’m a little uncomfortable with the fact that Season 1 maps Overgrowth and KSS still remain. I actually would have preferred it if GSL had switched over to all Season 2 ladder maps.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to win the championship this time for sure. I know that in the point rankings, I’m ranked at 5. So I’m pretty sure I’ll get a chance to pick during the group selections. My plan is to pick anyone who calls me a bubble right away.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
It’s been four seasons since I’ve advanced to a Ro16. I think to myself just how difficult this all is. I have one less worry now. I want to do well in the Ro16 so I can grab a seed for next season.
You took down the threat known as sOs.
As expected, the match was weird (laughs). I thought to myself that it would be over me if I ended up getting pushed around by sOs’ mind games. So I focused on that aspect. But once we met in the studio, sOs did builds that exceeded my anticipations so I got flustered a lot. Thankfully, I was able to get my head together and take him to the late game so I was able to win.
Your build orders cross over for the winners’ match. How did you prepare for it?
I came without thinking up of any ZvZ builds. After I checked what my opponent’s build was, I told myself that I was at a disadvantage so I decided to just warm up my hands, but a lot of luck followed so I was able to win. Afterwards, I felt like he wouldn’t anticipate the same build order for game two. That anticipation ended up working out so I was able to win.
What are your goals for this season?
I think I need to at least grab a seed for next season. So the quarter-finals is my goal. It would be my first time achieving this ever since transitioning to HotS.
How’s the sponsorship from SBENU working out?
The atmosphere was good from before, but these days since president Sonic personally watches our matches and pays a lot of attention to us he motivates us through all the support that he gives us. Because of that, the team’s atmosphere is really good. He’s created an environment for us where we can focus on the game.
Anything else you would like to say?
I feel really good. I was busy preparing for Proleague but I felt pressured about having to under a ZvP so I asked MyuNgSiK to help me with practice. My teammates also gave me a lot of help. Since I get to participate in the group selections, I will create an atmosphere that is the most fun. Lastly, I want to thank president Sonic for sponsoring us.

How do you feel about advancing to the Ro16?
Starting with defeating Curious, I wanted to advance out as first from my group. Even though I wasn’t able to do that, I am relieved that I was able to advance through.
Whenever you go against Curious, you have a trend of doing worse than usual.
Whenever I play against Curious, thing never go the way I want them to. I don’t really know why myself. It just feels like I’m losing at something whenever I play against him.
In the final match, you showed a mastery form of the mind games.
My plan was to grab the gold expansion, reveal it to my opponent early, and try to get an army battle going on. But I got caught later than I anticipated. So I improvised and pretended to do an all-in. Thankfully, Sacsri fell for it and so I was able to win.
If you had to score your own acting performance today?
Since it wasn’t something I had prepared beforehand and I decided to just improvise, I guess maybe 50 or 60 points? (laughs)
Who would you like to face for the Ro16?
It doesn’t really matter. I don’t think there will be an easy group regardless of who I end up facing. But I would like to go to a group that has a lot of Terrans.
What are your goals for this season?
If I am a progamer, then obviously shouldn’t it be the championship? If I can just get over the Ro16 then I am fully confident that I can do it. From before, I had always like group formats.
If you had to evaluate your own performances as of late?
If my performance from the past got me to Andromeda, then I think my performance now has returned me to the solar system. If I can get over the Ro16, then I think I could say that I’ve returned to earth.
Anything else you would like to say?
I don’t think my performance as of late has been very good. But it’s not like that for me during practice. I hope my fans won’t worry too much about me and keep on waiting for me since my results have been coming out okay. I want to thank the coach for coming with me to the studio, and to my fans for cheering me on. I also want to let my parents know that I’m grateful.
