Defensive Protoss styles were already played in early 2011 were two/three base voidray collossus builds won every PvZ. PvP was still a clusterfuck even with Rain, the addition of the MsC was easily the most important reason why it became a reasonable match up. Based on achievments alone, Rain is superior to Parting, but Parting's consistency, his innovations, play style, micro and games are truley unique and show a certain sense of greatness only 4 or other maybe 5 Players could match. By excluding Parting, your list may have become more reasonable, but it lacks soul now. Also, I think you underrate Nestea too. Not even mentioning that he didnt lose a single game in his July GSL makes me a sad panda. e: nvm, you did mention, i just suck. oh, and probs for choosing that Innovation pic. the chosen pictures have been top tier for the whole list Otherwise, good Job. Top prediction: MC Polt Taeja Life Mvp I have a hard time disagreeing with you on PartinG. I would say there have been no more influential players to Protoss strategy than PartinG (other than MC). Not mentioning him on the list seems like a crime to his accomplishments

I disagree with the way he weights tournaments and a notable many of the selections, so its worth taking with a grain of salt Edit: Reading Zest's section it mentions that Zest's weakness is Micro...hm.. If you look at Zest's play in 2014 much of his strategies are a combination of Macro oriented builds with cheesy components (kind of a fusion of Rain and PartinG's style). Also to note that his weakness is micro seems just incorrect. Zest is perhaps the best (other than maybe Parting) at taking maxed out engagements and controlling his army, focus firing stalkers, Immortals, colussi correctly. One thing to note is Zest's incredible ability to get the most out of each engagement and keep colossi alive for longer than any other Protoss I've seen. Here are a few video examples: - Here is a recent example against Hydra in Katowice - vs Drg, note how well he controls Colossi - here is a good example of a more creative component i agree with you, imo zest's units control is top notch

I can't wait to see the Part3 thread explode in accusations of Liquid'Bias cuz maru still hasnt won any titles, besides first starlegue.. 2 weeks back.

Maru defeated Rain in OSL s2 in 2013 http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Maru Looking at Maru's accomplishments probably warrants a higher place on this list. If we compare them side to side they look a lot more impressive than Polt's

what zest truly excels at is army movement and positioning. he knows where to be and where to go more than any other player. he is one of the players that gets caught out of position the least, and watching him move his units around the map (to pressure, to defend, to feint, to draw into an ambush, etc) is a joy to behold.

I guess it's unfair to say its weak when I mean relatively weak to the rest of his skills. He's different from players like Parting and Maru who use their micro to pummel their opponents into submission. WIth Zest, he very rarely uses his micro skills alone to kill someone (and has never needed to). It's only a weakness when we're batting in the range of the greatest players at the time.

I'm sure you could link a whole host of mistakes from any great player, including Zest. Having re-watched a lot of 2014 Gsl's last week I have a really hard time taking you opinion seriously on that matter. Then again PartinG isn't on this list
