hmm the day I'll clcik on them accidentally during a game, I will immediately disable them, but in 6000+ games, never happened once.

It's an accident. The keys are right next to each other on both the keyboard and by mouse. If someone truly wants to BM you, pausing the game before leaving is probably the least effective way of doing so.

worked pretty well in WoL because you left the game (you think he left the game already), and he gets the victory. Now with victory animation in hotS, no chance anymore.

Most people probably do it as a mistake, but then there are people like avilo who do it in a bm way (intentionally). This started from a bug that people have mentioned here. Since it has no negative effect anymore, it's mostly just funny to see.

There was also a bug during the HotS beta in team games where if the person who pauses the game also leaves the game, the remaining players were unable to unpause the game.
Made it impossible to play 2vs2 on a high level for quite a while during the beta and they even managed to ship the game with that bug still in place. Still got an instinct from that time to directly unpause and pause again if someone hits pause, just to make sure.

But yeah, it's probably a missclick in most cases nowadays.

What I experienced a while ago (WoL I think), was that once the opponent paused and left, just nothing happened, and since I really don't like unpausing an opponent's pause without his consent, I just waited a couple minutes...
But I could resume the game and I instantly had the victory screen.

When this happens I usually assume either old BM habit or miss clic, also regarding to potential chat history from the game.

This does happen to me, and even when I win. Don't know why, but when I'm giving everything I have, I have so much tears in my eyes, I sometime can't even see the minimap. I had to pause once because of this x)

sometimes it's bm, sometimes it's just by accident. i do it all the time...click the wrong thing in my haste.

It's like, the last thing you can do to irritate your opponent before leaving without actually saying something offensive or being rude.

Why would that irritate anyone? You leave right after and the pause does literally nothing to your opponent.

It was used back in the day as a semi cheat. You pause game and sometimes the person trying to unpause hits wrong button and they surrender? They changed the hotkey for this way back in WOL though iirc

IIRC the Victory Screen isn't influenced by the game being paused so you can just go to the score screen. Although it hasn't happened to me in a while now. And even unpausing isn't bothersome. It's like "Oh you wanna do this? Fine, I can press the pause button. Enjoy wasting 2 seconds of your own time."
