Gosh that must be terrible as a team to try to go pro when you have so much people against you just for the fact you're not known yet...

No, seriously, what is with all the negativity towards Invasion? They have payed the flights to San Jose for Gumiho, TOP and Super. Shouldn't that be enough to trust them for now? And with those players in the team (Again: Super and Gumiho are Code S and also qualified for SSL), the line-up is bad either. Korean star players have joined worse line-ups in the past.

No, it shouldn't be enough to trust them. Even if they pay their players and support them, they could still be a shady buisness. For example, lets say "X" team is funded by dirty money, money laundry for example, but "its alright" they pay they players, they take them to all the tournaments, the players are happy. then, people descover the truth, there is a scandal, the news cover it, team managers going to jail, the players are now teamless, sponsors withdraw some or all their support from some teams because they don't want to be involved in that "shady starcraft game", or even with esports in general cause they feel they could get bad press. And e-sports doesn't need any more scandals. Shady teams, even if they pay their players, aren't something people should accept. Now, im not saying this teamm in particular is money laundry, but it is strange, and we should all be careful. We can't jump to conclutions withouth any prove, but,if e-sports is to grow, we just can't go and say "i don't care if they are shady as long as they pay the teams" cause it could potentially backfire pretty badly on all esports, remember most people still see us as a bunch of nerds playing in the basement, we need to give a good impression, not a bad one.

Please, please, to whomever runs Invasion, please do not let the fans down. Our favourite players have been hurt before, and the last thing we want to see is another team hurting more favourites.

Their expended the contract till 2015 while they gain no visibality at all since 2011. 2011 ferrari rebranded their team from "scuderia ferrari marlboro" to "scuderia ferrari". They pay ALOT for no visability at all. Many people do that. Some just are rich fans who pay for something they like, some companys hope for contacts and contracts due to the sport and other just do it for whatever reason.

Who gives us a guarantee, that EG, Liquid, myi or mouz aren't a money laundry? Why is it just Invason? Because they are new and picked up koreans? Myi did the same with Stardust and and later Jjakji a while ago and look were they are now: One of Europes most respected teams in the SC2-scene. Ai was a pretty low-profile organisation and suddenly picked up Strelok, Patience and Golden within a few months, but everything went fine there as well. Ofc. sponsers don't like scandals, but if Invasion really wouldn't be legit, a scandal would occur anyway, regardless of what we write in here. However, I can't imagine, that sponsors are happy when people scream "SCAM, SCAM, SCAM" whenever their team is mentioned. And that is something, we have a very direct influence on.

Because EG, liquid, mYi, etc have actual sponsors backing them. By actual sponsors I mean that I can go buy products from these sponsors to show my support, I know who runs these companies, etc. Money is serious business, and the hostility of some people towards guarantee-less teams like Invasion is not detrimental for the scene but perfectly legit, even wealthy. Ever noticed how TCM got no hate while being a new SC2 team who picked two Koreans? Because there were guarantees : their sponsors and their reputation. No one should be able to come in with no transparent money source and use it to make a team, even if one is legit and has actual money behind it, because it encourages real scammers to come in and do the same. And yeah the sponsor is probably not happy with us going full SCAM SCAM SCAM, but we don't even know who they are, so...

A least that's what I heard recently. Yes, the Loi Évin prevents them from advertising alcohol products in France and with actual ads. However, it doesn't prevent them to advertise it when going to foreign events (unless Twitch doesn't like that too), to have the logo or even to have just something like "thanks to X for supporting us" on their website, or to give the name of their sponsor in an interview published on TL. Edit : and ofc you can find ways to hint at the sponsor without being explicit about it, by having a "true fake" logo or something along those lines.
