Welcome StarCraft fans to another Liquipedia Bracket Contest, where we invite you to predict how the tournament will play out for glory and some prizes.
The deadline for this contest is: Saturday, Nov 01 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
How to Participate!
To make your prediction follow our guide. You can correct any mistakes you’ve made up until the deadline. No new submissions will be accepted.
Winner!
The winner will be the person who has gotten the most amount of points. You get points by guessing/predicting the correct winners, and then there are bonus points if you also get the correct score.
Point structure Predicting the right winner in the round of 16 will give you 2 points, in the quarter finals 4 points, in the semi finals 8 points and the grand finals 16 points. Predicting the correct score of a best of five (best of seven) will give you 1 (2) extra point(s) per match.
We have assembled some statistics about what you think will happen over the next two weekends based on over 800 brackets that have been submitted as part of our bracket contest.
Haha, each time I predict a game, I'm like : "hmm this could happen" but when I see the global result I'm like "dude, my prediction doesn't make any sense oO!"
We should forbid any bracket concluding with a PvP finals. Those things should not exist, even in fictions. In all seriousness, I think the hardest match to call by far is soO vs Inno. Here I goooo
i have not seen a bracket yet which has MC advancing. herO is the clear favorite, dont get me wrong, but i think MC has higher chances winning his match than HyuN.
As much as I want another toss to win this season of WCS, I cannot hold back the anxious feeling of watching the scene of soO getting another second place.
I am very sure of each person winning but the scores were really tough and they're all so good I basically had to default to 3-1 even though I know some will be 3-2 T_T
Pandemona with the hipster Classic in the finals pick.
Yeah i think he has a good draw to be fair. Polt in the first game i expect Classic to win, then herO has shown his PvP can be shaky (see vs Stats) then he gets Bomber potentially which again i think Classic is better than. However Zest is BICEP TOSS!
Threw in some upsets because predicting the favorite to win every match (which I think here inevitably leads to a herO/Zest finals) is the surest way to lose a bracket prediction:
in my prediction, soO will be beating all the guys that beat him in the previous 3 GSL finals ZestClassicINnoVation and become the untimate SC2 player of all time!!! :D
All this in a year that was initially dominated by protos, when zerg started to find the weaknesses of protos, terran was buffed....

Ha ha, though unlikely, I love your prediction ! Battling all the bosses that beat you in the finals into at last winning your first title. I'd love it !

Wow our brackets are really similar! Exact same winner predictions and half the scores are the same as well. (Wiki)User:Bartus88/2014_WCS_Global_Finals_Contest
Edit: Liquipedia links don't seem to work properly when quoting them apparently.
And ours are also extremely similar. Just have Classic beating Polt and herO winning the final...
I don't believe I ever watched INnoVation and Zest ever play each other. There will be so much hype if that matchup actually happens. Still believe in herO though!!!

I thought Zest was the favourite until I filled out the brackets...it looks like he will meet Taeja in the semis and Taeja's style lines up very well against Zest in his weakest (but still good) matchup. If Zest can beat or avoid Taeja I don't think anyone else can stop him, but I think he will lose to Taeja and herO will win in the finals. Basically I think aligulac has nailed the prediction (despite a funky rating system.)
Favourites: herO, Zest Dark horses: Taeja, Bomber
Really looking forward to soO-Taeja...think that will be the highlight of the first round. Not only are they two of the best in the world at the matchup and evenly matched in skill, I think the outcome will just come down to mentality. Has a 5th consecutive final defeat finally broken soO? Will Taeja take home one last enormous paycheck or will we see the indifferent Taeja of past winters held back by wrist issues?
A couple final notes: - It looks like it's going to be a bad week for zergs.. they face the prospect of total extinction before the main event even begins - Kespa players seem to have a pattern of being (relatively) weak in vT, likely because it's the match they encounter the least and practise the least - Of the 3 (100K) world champions so far, all 3 are protoss and 5/6 finalists were protoss. I'm betting it will be 4 in a row.
Zest going to bring this home for me. I just hope I am wrong about the rest of the brackets because there is a distinct lack of Z going forward I would love JD to do really well, but he always falters when I cheer for him, so I am doing my best to not cheer too hard.

Edit: I also wish Solar was there
i think zest would crush bomber in the final
I think Bomber will proxy 2rax him at least once though, seeing how well it worked for Flash
Going to be so awesome! Can't wait, doubt I'll win cause jjakji and MMA are my boys but yeah, been so long since a sc2 event that I was this hyped for. Man, been hyped for weeks!

It seems that all my predictions are the same as majority's, so boring. Oh well, at least I'm gonna win the whole competition, so I have that going for me.
Changes that you have done to your bracket after the deadline will not affect anything. If you corrected an honest mistake, you can contact me and I may be willing to take your corrected version into account. If you try to cheat (which you can't by the way) by updating your bracket after the fact, we might exclude you from the contest.

I PMed you. Put a score the wrong way around but had the player I wanted to put winning in the next round.

I made my bracket at like 1:15, but I don't see my name in the rankings list. Is there any way for me to still have a chance to get in?

Just realized i have mispelled INnoVations name in my bracket... could u pls correct it if it makes it a problem to get points? Thx in advance
Capitalization of player names does not matter for the scores. It's just that it doesn't show the checkmarks in the bracket if the capitalization is wrong.

edit counted innovation's % instead of soO's. Obviously yesterday affected me more than I thought.
I had Zest pencilled in to win as well but I jumped off the hype train at the last minute when I realized it was overcrowded. Both my finalists still on course fingers crossed...
In 1st semi finals MMA vs Classic, I didn't get the points for score prediction 3:1. In my bracket there is Polt insted of Classic, but many competitors have Polt as well, and they have extra points for score - why not me?
Second question. A made very bad mistake in finals prediction - 5:2, it should be 4:2 cause it's BO7. I know this is little bit too late for changes the score, but right now it's not possible to get 5 point (it's not BO9 format) - Is there mod that can change 5 to 4?

Actually, you only get the bonus points if you have the right losing player as well, the check marks are a bit inaccurate in that regard.

I'm on 5th place before finals (together with some other guy), but not gonna get any closer cause I voted for Taeja/MMA finals. It was fun tho. Thank you TL for bracket contest. For me it's not bad at all.

Considering I barely watch SC2 at this point, I'm not sure I'm a fan of anyone, but I do enjoy Life's style of play. Also, hard to root against possibly the best Zerg in SC2, and the first Royal Roader of GSL.
Rank #27 here, I was so confident in my prediction, but Life really screwed me over. But who can be mad about Life winning BlizzCon that is freaking huge!
