With the exception of Jaedong, why does the EG roster look like a group of tranditionally underperforming players, occupied school students, or "wannabe" casters? Don't get me wrong, I think these guys are great, but it does not look like a high level team anymore.

EG roster :
DeMusliM - Wannabe caster and continuously underperforming. White-ra (who most consider retired) beat him in the last HSC.
HuK - defeated by Sjaac first round of MLG
iNcontroL - Wannabe caster more than player
Jaedong - Only high level EG player (imo)
Suppy - Student - fulltime school at UC Berkeley
ThorZaIN - Student
Xenocider - Very young and I'm still perplexed with this EG pickup. I don't know the last thing he has won or even participated.

What the fuck is a "wannabe caster" ? How are people like you even around?

Look on the bright side, he at least knows you cast . Everything he said about HuK wasn't even right (its Sjaak, the second round, and DH).

Can you comment on the EG roster though? Can we expect additions any time soon? Or are we just going to watch you slowly bleed players as the contracts run out?

I have respect for you guys supporting players who decide to pursue education and such, but I miss having a competitive EG. Team Jaedong + Huk is still fun though.

You are right to an extent but a little harsh.

When Demu was in his peak he was jipped by not even being selected for the first WCS America season. Since then he's been on decline and focused more on casting.

Huk is still a top level foreign toss imo albeit not on Welmu's level.

Incontrol is a caster, host etc.

Jaedong is Jaedong.

Suppy has been up and down but still premier level while, yes, Thorzain seems to have disappeared.

Xeno won a 10k tourney last year...

Someone who wants to be a caster I guess

I mean technically he's not wrong, you do want to cast, don't you?

Typically, the term "wannabe" implies someone chasing an unrealistic goal; someone who does not have the skillset or experience required to achieve said goal.

An amateur casting from replays on YouTube to a channel of a few dozen subscribers is a wannabe.

InControl *is* a caster. Perhaps even one of the premier casters of the past few years of SC2. Can you name more than a half-dozen casters who are currently more employable for top-level SC2 events?

Edit: Also sad to see JYP go; always expected him to just catch fire one day & show his stuff. Hope he finds a good fit on another team.

The "" at the end of his post indicate that it was sarcasm.. Pretty sure he didnt need the "wannabe" explanation.

I am not speaking on any formal capacity but from what I gather...

JYP has been struggling to keep SC2 at the top of his priority list. Dropping out of WCS NA was a huge blow to his motivation/desire to continue to be a progamer afaik. Following that loss he was "afk" for nearly a month missing clan wars and was uncreachable via online communication. He took that loss really hard

It's super hard to be a progamer in korea atm with there being more talented players and fewer teams/leagues etc that are willing to pay said progamers for their talents.

JYP has been with us for a long time and he is a fucking awesome human being. Always friendly and complementary, willing to practice at any time and in his day was a helluva protoss. JYP will be missed <3

PS! As an aside.. one cool story about JYP and how he joined EG:

Puma and JYP were/are good friends and when Puma knew he would face MC in the finals of NASL he practiced as much as he could for this matchup as he knew those finals would change his life. Naturely at a US based tourney like this he didn't have weeks or even days to practice he had THAT night so he reached out in need of a friend/progamer to help him practice TvP and as the hours were horrible for his korean brethren most said no due to the fact that they'd have to play from something like 5am - 10am or whatever. Only JYP said yes staying up and playing at horrible hours for as long as Puma needed to help his friend win the NASL. After that Puma asked that JYP join the otherwise all non korean lineup of EG. Management fell in love with a guy that had such a great work ethic and dedication to his fellow teammate(s) so the choice was easy!

Love ya JYP <3

Good story :-) all the best to JYP.

What a baller. I hope this guy's life goes to great places .
