Unexpected but with EG slowly phasing out of Korea it isn't too shocking. Wish the best for JYP and him finding a team soon.

He has been quiet lately. So it makes sense that he wouldn't be on the team. He has played well for them. Honestly Incontrol and jaedong are the only ones worth anything on that team. Incontrol is great for promoting the EG brand and he has passion for the game. jaedong just makes deep runs in tournaments. I think most eyes are now on Dota 2.

They need to get let most of the roster go and star a new team around JD EG looks more like a team of casters than a team of SC2 players

Well in my opinion it's anything but unexpected. Haven't seen anything in ages from this guy, no streaming, no appearances in tournament play etc. Sad nonetheless of course.

I am not speaking on any formal capacity but from what I gather...

JYP has been struggling to keep SC2 at the top of his priority list. Dropping out of WCS NA was a huge blow to his motivation/desire to continue to be a progamer afaik. Following that loss he was "afk" for nearly a month missing clan wars and was uncreachable via online communication. He took that loss really hard

It's super hard to be a progamer in korea atm with there being more talented players and fewer teams/leagues etc that are willing to pay said progamers for their talents.

JYP has been with us for a long time and he is a fucking awesome human being. Always friendly and complementary, willing to practice at any time and in his day was a helluva protoss. JYP will be missed <3

PS! As an aside.. one cool story about JYP and how he joined EG:

Puma and JYP were/are good friends and when Puma knew he would face MC in the finals of NASL he practiced as much as he could for this matchup as he knew those finals would change his life. Naturely at a US based tourney like this he didn't have weeks or even days to practice he had THAT night so he reached out in need of a friend/progamer to help him practice TvP and as the hours were horrible for his korean brethren most said no due to the fact that they'd have to play from something like 5am - 10am or whatever. Only JYP said yes staying up and playing at horrible hours for as long as Puma needed to help his friend win the NASL. After that Puma asked that JYP join the otherwise all non korean lineup of EG. Management fell in love with a guy that had such a great work ethic and dedication to his fellow teammate(s) so the choice was easy!

Love ya JYP <3

EG should be happy with the success JYP has given them. I imagine that he was no longer the best fit, as he was hesitant to leave Korea for international success (and even when he did, he didn't breakout in flying colors).

It just means that EG is turning into what it originally was, a premier foreign team. And I am okay with that.

just said my good byes to him.. he DID say however "c you at the next tournament" so while what I said was speculation maybe this will help motivate him to go 110% again? I hope so.. he is a really fun player and a friend of mine.. would love to see more from him!

Got lots of respect for JYP for switching WCS regions from America to Korea and making Code A.

DeMusliM has always been good, but he has had bad luck in tournaments and is starting to cast more (and play less?)
HuK still seems pretty solid. Not incredible like he once was, but still good.
iNcontroL is an excellent caster, host, and promoter.
Jaedong is Jaedong.
Suppy needs to pick it up.
ThorZaIN, where the hell is he?
Xenocider needs yo pick it up.

I suppose all of these are opinionated, but JYP has been quiet also, and they dropped their other good players before this. Is EG going to move to employing more casters and hosts rather than having an awesome player base?

Edit: Not to be rude, just thinking out loud I suppose.

I guess it's not that surprising since we haven't seen much from him in a while, but hopefully he can find a new team to get motivated.
