EG roster : DeMusliM - Wannabe caster and continuously underperforming. White-ra (who most consider retired) beat him in the last HSC. I think Incontrol is taking this too personally; especially for someone that wants to be a public figure. Zealously is correct, my criticism comes that you want to cast more than play. Is that inaccurate? I recall an interview documentary the CFO of EG management noting you were under contract as a player and you were entitled to pursue other opportunities once the contract ended. But he stressed EG's main focus is to make money - they run a business based on players (not a media casting center). I'm not going to presume I know what is going on at EG based on one interview and documentary, but given Incontrol's public appearances and, admittedly, less time to practice as a player, what would he/you like to be called? So let's not forget the Idra incident and learn from it when comments are made, "how are people like you even around." It is pretty much saying the same thing (less the expetives). My comments, which one might perceive as "harsh", held some level of merit given the current state of the EG roster. Sorry for bringing a raw reality from a publics perspective. Or would you perfer I just use the classic "Goodluck "? The doc you are referencing but have no specific idea about was filmed in 2011 . "Wannabe" has a negative ring to it and all your bullshit about adding a "real perspective" becomes self-important dribble when you can't string together two accurate sentences to what you are adding "perspective" on. Save the "I rented the doc so I'm supporting you" bull crap btw. Supporting me indirectly doesn't give you some kind of priveledge to be a douche and then lecture me on how defenseless I am because you shell out money to rent docs. Idra called the entire fan base idiots.. I'm singling you out because you are trying to pass outdated info as some kind of accurate criticism and then getting uppity when your post gets responded to. Interpret it how you want. And I'm not the one getting "uppity" and using profanity, calling people "douches." I thought you would be more articulate as an English major. You still haven't answered the question: I said "wannabe" because you are either a player or a caster. Which one are you? Or, to be more clear, which one do you want to pursue more? It is clear there is not enough hours in the day to do both. That is like me wanting to be a doctor and a fire fighter at the same time. That dream died when i was 5, I guess. The funny part is I actually like your casting. It seems you are a little over sensitive on the subject. I would hope someone who is in the public spotlight as much as you would have thicker skin. If you can't answer that question directly, then I would suggest you go into politics. Well, to be fair, calling someone a "wannabe X" is an insult. It's not really up for interpretation, it's just an insult. I'm not going to say that Geoff responded perfectly to you or that he's an angel in this thread or something but you did insult him.
"Wannabe or Wanna Be is a pejorative for a person who wishes to be or do something, but lacks the qualifications or talent." (Wikipedia)
It implies the person isn't good enough to do the thing they are doing. Incontrol is clearly a caster, he's one of the best out there.

If you can't answer that question directly, then I would suggest you go into politics. Day9 is a game developer, a caster and does the dailies and probably a lot more stuff too. Nobody complained that he was spread too thin when he was doing his masters and promoted the fuck out of SC2 in every way imaginable. In what world do you fucking live where an entertainment person can't play and commentate a game at the same time? There are doctors out there who have other occupations that certainly take the equivalent of another day job to do. I'm talking about doctors who do their job and are activists on the side, or do research work. Same thing with firefighters, some of those people are busy and competent in multiple areas.
But none of that compares to someone who'd be a player and a commentator, because those two obviously have a ridiculous amount of synergy. So you're nitpicking because you have some kind of infantile need to criticize things which don't fit in your mold of preconceived bullshit of how life should be. Not surprising, considering that you live in some universe where caster/player compares to doctor/firefighter.

I've clarified twice what I meant by "wannabe" and it was not meant to be derogatory. Sorry I didn't look it up the slang dictionary. Yet he still comes over-the-top with some of these comments. My observation is on the EG line-up and how it has degraded. You have more players focusing on casting/school (DeMuslim/InControl/Thorzain/Suppy) than playing. I've seen Incontrols stream where he admittedly comes back home from a long day of casting/traveling and says he gets a 3-4 hours in of playing. There is a difference between a hobby and doing something you like versus a job, in which your performance is critiqued. I'm assuming by the underperformance in tournaments and the increased casting gig's that casting is now his full-time job? My observations are based on evaluating his comments on stream, participations in tournaments, and primary role(s) he plays. Right now casting appears to be his central focus. But I could be wrong, since he might be the first human on earth to never need sleep.

Funny and sad at the same time. JYP was a name that was thrown around when I first started playing SC2 and now that I am picking up the game again, his name is the first I see in the news. But hey, maybe this means that Prime aims for SPL next year, meaning a certain certainty that there IS a Proleague next year?

Look pinky, it's clear you didn't intend to offend but I did take offense. You made it worse by then lecturing me on needing thicker skin and how I should treat public people etc.. Just clarify and apologize next time.
I have been a full time caster/personality for 1.5 years and before that I split my time between casting and playing which is not advisable if your goal is to win tourneys.

Get Idra back in the roster.

Thanks for the clarity. I didn't know you transitioned full-time. Good luck. what rock have you been hiding under for the last 2 years? Incontrol cast pretty much every major tournament while consistently streaming GM games on NA. I can't think of any other "caster" more qualified.
eh my bad. didn't mean to bump.

Why does this community feel a need to persecute InControl so relentlessly? Does it really give them that much satisfaction to see him lash out at people who insult him?
I have high hopes for JYP if he continues with his career. He did well in team leagues in the somewhat-recent past, so despite missing out on qualification for WCS NA, I doubt that he's really in a severe slump, nor even his career path being on a distinct downturn, especially if that Prime rumor has some truth to it.

When Incontrol was a young boy he dreamed that he wanted to be a caster, although to this day he still hasn't commentated a real event, maybe one day he will be a real caster. *kappa*

Are you implying HuK either cheated or there was some sort of conspiracy? Well, first time for everything i guess. Yeah, that assumption of ReboundEU is so stupid. HuK won MLG Orlando but he didn't just drop. At Providence he was 5th - behind Leenock, NaNiwa, DRG and Mvp. It was excellent result and if it wasn't for NaNiwa's stellar performance, HuK would be the most remembered foreigner there. He was also 3rd at MLG Winter Arena and 4th at MLG Winter Championship - best foreigner at both events (NaNi was 2nd best at both - tied for 7th/8th). The result is also consistent with HuK's GSL performance. Orlando was in October. In November HuK topped his Ro32 Code S group but in Ro16 he was 3rd, dropped to Code A Ro24 where he lost to KeeN 2-0 (december) then in Up & Down (later in december) he went 1-3 winning only his game against Alicia and losing PvZs vs Monster and Lucky and PvT vs NaDa. After that it was presence without any success in GSL after which he left. So I'd say his results are very consistent. Orlando was definitely a tournament Code S Round of 8 player was able to win. But a player who fall out of Code A wasn't really that strong.
I completely agree that it is ridiculous to imply some sort of conspiracy, I was just really surprised by what the guy said.

It's because Geoff has passion for what he does, and he can sometimes wear it on his sleeve. We can all get like that, and I appreciate/understand this and would hope others can find something as passionate for themselves in their lifetime.
