The second GSL Code A season of the year kicked off with Groups A and B, featuring three former GSL finalists in Acer.INnoVation, Samsung_RorO, and Seed looking to make their way back to Code S. However, only INnoVation was able to punch his ticket to Code S as the night would give way to a series of upsets.
MVP.TAiLS was the player who put in the most surprising performance on the night, going 4-0 in Group A with wins over both RorO and SKT_Classic to advance in first place. TAiLS had just switched to the Korea region after spending four seasons in WCS Europe without ever reaching the live Ro16, and few expected such a strong showing out of the MVP Protoss. Classic, who finished in the Ro16 of the previous Code S season, defeated RorO in the final match to secure second place in Group A.
In Group B, INnoVation was able to take care of business, defeating SKT_Dark and CJ_Sora to take the first place. The two players defeated by INnoVation would end up vying for the second place spot in the group, resulting in Dark defeating Sora 2-1 to earn his second consecutive Code S appearance.
Hot6ix Code S Season 2 Players
Seeded from Season 1 (8): Zest, soO, Life, Rain, sOs, herO, PartinG, Maru
Code A Winners (4/24): TAiLS, Classic, INnoVation, Dark

hmm Innovation defeating Sora 2-0 huh? Too bad his vZ isn't as invincible as it once was but 2-0 is still a good feat imo unless Sora's vT is his worst mu. Tails winning is an upset imo especially since he knocked out both roro and classic. Classic wasn't as unexpected though. His lategame vZ seems on key.

VERY Surprised TAiLS made it out.... But Group B went exactly how i would of hoped it would.

Sora and RorO out is unexpected, imho. But TAilS??? Wow, NEVER thought he would beat Classic... Grats!

Sora just hasn't looked the same since WCG run. Really disappointing, I hope he can turn it around sometime because he was definitely one of the more enjoyable players to watch when he was on. Grats to the winners who advanced, glad the Chintoss was able to make it out.

Poor Seed. What is this, his 5th or 6th time qualifying and still can't get past the ro48
EDIT: In a row, that is.

YAY INNO. Time to win GSL.

Happy for Innovation. Hope he's back to his rightful place.

I am kind of glad I couldn't sleep last night. Watching Innovation crush (mostly) his way back into Code S was great.

I've missed most of the Sora hypetrain but it was nevertheless sad to see watch his reaction after the final loss

bit surprised that Roro didn't make it. Dark winning was good to see. Seed makes the news a bit sad but good luck to everyone in the group.

Good riddance to bad rubbish Roro. Won because of winfestor/gglord, once those got nerfed in hots he was rightfully banished into oblivion, only to claw his way back via neo winfestor/gglord: swarmhost turtle.
The sooner players like that are forced into retirement the better it will be for the game

Yeh, now we have to do something about those dirty Terrans. Too many skilled protoss players are falling to their imba winner mines.

User was warned for this post This will inevitably happen to every player that rose fast during eras when their races are powerful. As a zerg I agree there are lots of patch zergs out there but same with terrain/ toss like seed, sniper, sora, stardust. Randomly start owning during their races op period and once its patched they just disappear, or as blind ppl call it " not doing as well"

Well, the others I agree with, but Stardust is still doing pretty well for himself.

Nice people who weren't tail's fans have been tail's fans for years now, damn so quick to jump ship. Anyhow he's a very mechanical player, expert in rushing so gl to him, hope he continues to come up with some new stuff for everyone else to copy
