Whoa that's pretty cool. I never really followed proleague until the past few months, has a foreigner ever been on an official roster in SC2 proleague?

Their gold was actually over Startale in Los Vegas.

I know plenty of nerds like to deny that it happened but it did and oh MKP was the MVP.

And oh yea Polt and Maru both won their titles when they were with Prime so there's that.

Prime has won a GSL, OSL, and WCS KR as well as making 3 more finals. Startale has won a GSL and a Blizzard Cup. Prime has won a GSTL. Startale has been picked as the favorite to win a GSTL multiple times and never won. Prime is in Proleague and Kespa. Startale had to beg a team to take them on in a partnership. Prime has a sponsor now. Redbull only cares about Life and Bomber. Startale doesn't even live in their own house anymore

I'm Talking GSL Gold. and we aren't talking about people formally on the team, or i would have much more accomplishments to work with. Parting, July, Bomber, Squirtle and others.

I mean grats on being proud on being a 1 man team?

Far from it, i just felt bad about prime and felt life matched all the accomplishments of your entire team put together. Curious, Hack, and hell, even pet and panic would crush prime to the ground.

You missed the somewhat important fact that Prime has no good players and Startale does

Creator is better than any ST player at the moment

I know Prime fans aren't all there but surely you don't equate one players win over Life (in a minor tournament) in the latter's worst match-up to four players in Code S and one making the Ro8?

Let's just call it 8 players in Code S.

STIM for life! This also grants ST 2 GSL victories.

My claim was that Creator is better than any ST player at this period. I backed it up with the fact he won a tournament stacked with ST players, beating ST's best player 5-1 in 2 matches en being a top 3 player in PL, while not 1 ST player has a positive winrate in this league (OK they just joined).

I think this backs up my statement quite well

And your claim is wrong because, surprise surprise, Creator is Code B (didn't make Code A) and Life is Code S Ro8. Unless we're talking strictly PvZ/ZvP, in which case it might not be as clear-cut.

Creator is NOT better than Life, he just isn't and that's a fact. Major beat TaeJa 2-0 in WCS America but no one is claiming MajOr is better than TaeJa are they? The argument that he beat him in 1 tournament that one time is so flawed it's not even funny. Creator playing well in PvP (pretty much his only good matchup, that he's luckily drawn almost every game this round) where he can just play super defensively while his opponent gets impatient and suicides their army doesn't necessarily make him a "great" player all of a sudden. And doing hidden all-ins on a 4 player map isn't really the most impressive thing in the world either. Creator has a long way to go to prove that he has turned into a great player before he will be taken seriously, Life has done it for a much longer time and is proving it in Individual leagues/tournaments where it matters.
There are things known, and things unknown, and in-between are the doors.

Yes, cause Creator has never ended far in a major offline tournament. Let stand win one...

And Creator not being better than Life cause it's a fact. Please, I gave you enough reasons, and it's not only the online cup

And I'm saying that right now Life is in the Ro8 of GSL and ZvP is his worst matchup while it's creator's best. http://www.aligulac.com/players/2-Creator/ http://www.aligulac.com/players/3-Life/

Because players in the Ro8 of GSL are always better than people in Code B/A. You guys must have considered InCa to be the best protoss in the world at some point

Creator's road this GSL (Code A Quals Ro2):

2-0 Legend
2-1 Impact
0-2 Cure
1-2 Zest

Life's road this GSL (Code S Ro8):

2-1 Paralyze
0-2 Squirtle
2-0 Paralyze
2-1 YongHwa
2-0 Dark
2-0 Roro
0-2 sOs
2-0 Roro

But hey, since recent results don't always say everything, let's look at last year!

Creator's results last year:

Ro32 2013 GSL Season 1
Ro32 MLG Winter Championship
Ro32 2013 WCS KR Season 1

Life's results last year:

1st Iron Squid Chapter 2
1st MLG Winter Championship
Ro16 2013 GSL Season 1
Ro16 2013 WCS KR Season 1
Ro32 2013 WCS KR Season 2
Ro4 Dreamhack Bucharest
1st IEM New York
2nd Dreamhack Winter
Ro4 ASUS NorthCon
Ro8 ASUS Winter

Honestly, the only metric that you could use to call Creator a superior player is their head-to-head record. Which, if it were the other way around, I'm sure you'd agree doesn't say very much. Creator has looked pretty good in Proleague, but saying he's better than Life is about as true as saying that MKP would have beaten Parting in the first game >.>

I never claimed Creator's entire career was better than Life's entire career. But this isn't the first moment Creator looked better than Life (WCS Korea 2012/TSL 4 era)

No you didn't, because that would have made you look even more silly

I wonder if anyone else is like me in that I've never really become attached to teams in SC2 since it's an individualistic game in the end. I cheer for players, not teams really. I'm an mkp fan and only a fan of prime per se so long as he's on it. If he jumped ship, then I wouldn't really care about prime anymore. Just like I'm a Life, Drg, fan etc without actually caring about the teams they're on.

The war never ends

On-topic, I'm really happy for State. I think taking the step to actually freaking join a Korean team (even if it's just Prime) will pay off for him in the long run. This is the kind of thing I'd love for more foreigners to do because I think it's the way to go if you want to become the best.

Awesome news! It's great to see things working out for state and it's nice to see the good news among the bad news the scene has had recently.

Good luck State!

It's great to see a foreigner as the best player on a korean team. #burn Startale>Prime.

At least he's on a team that's officially in a league. and one that has actually won an offline team league before D:

I'm Sorry, but where is you GSL win? All i see is a bunch of silvers and a crying MKP.

You missed the somewhat important fact that Prime has no good players and Startale does

According to the last direct encounters the best player on Prime beat the best player on ST decisively

I wonder if State'll be sent out regularly in Proleague, or if his game against Classic was a twisted kind of welcoming party.

So what you're saying now is State was technically not a member of Prime so he was not eligible to play in proleague thus rendering that game null and void right?

Nah, he was on the Proleague roster even before officially joining the team (think HerO on IM). All is good and well in that department, though it would have been hilarious if the match was declared null and Prime received penalty points in true KeSPA fashion.

The story continues. After MajOr, another try it out ! Not Team 8 this time, but ... well... looks like the Team 8 of the former ESF teams (currently, Prime was great when MKP, Maru, Creator, playing well and shit).

Good Luck State, hope you'll do well on Prime !

I think you missed his sarcasm, as he was "hoping" that the game would be rendered null and void seeing as State lost the game, which means he'd get a new chance for a "first game in proleague" and perhaps get a win.

Heh, Prime being bashed is quite a running gag for quite some time now ! I fully agree with you, there's a high chance he gets the best training he's ever got there (though that's not 100% sure he'll eventually get way much better all of a sudden).

Then, before MKP rejoined Prime, it looked quite like when T8 lost Jaedong (they still had TY, but he wasn't as much on rampage as he's now that he's on KT).

For offline matches from 1/1 2014:

In these games, Creator is 20–11 (64.52%) in games and 13–6 (68.42%) in matches.
In these games, Life is 28–20 (58.33%) in games and 12–6 (66.67%) in matches.

So yeah, life clearly better?

edit: And in both offline and online;

In these games, Creator is 27–16 (62.79%) in games and 16–8 (66.67%) in matches.
In these games, Life is 36–30 (54.55%) in games and 16–10 (61.54%) in matches.

State is one of the coolest players I've ever met, so impressed by his work ethic and really hoping he can show the world is power in SPL this year

congrats on making it official!

You missed the somewhat important fact that Prime has no good players and Startale does

Creator is better than any ST player at the moment

Code S

That creator guy has a lower winrate than Life

For offline matches from 1/1 2014:

In these games, Creator is 20–11 (64.52%) in games and 13–6 (68.42%) in matches.
In these games, Life is 28–20 (58.33%) in games and 12–6 (66.67%) in matches.

So yeah, life clearly better?

edit: And in both offline and online;

In these games, Creator is 27–16 (62.79%) in games and 16–8 (66.67%) in matches.
In these games, Life is 36–30 (54.55%) in games and 16–10 (61.54%) in matches.

As all of you argue about, I just want you to note that this: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Prime#Notable is more important than what team is better.
State is in a korean team, that is all that important, and guess what, its awesome!
An Esports fan, playing SC2 and LoL because they are fun. Huge fan of mapmaking, Cloud Kingdom = best map ever made EVER.
