This is cool, but don't ROOT have an Academy team, SEED, specifically for up-and-comers, such as Ms.Spyte, that aren't quite at pro level yet? I'm happy for her, but it does look a bit strange to me to have a mid-high masters player on the main team while there are GM players on the academy team.

Cool to see them pick her up! She has been a great streamer for a while. She deserves to be on a team like ROOT, popular stream and great personality.

GLHF!
I used to play random, but for you I play very specifically.

Root has become the place careers go to find better teams, you join root for 3-6 months and then join another team and become better
If all men were created equal there would be no reason to declare it.

She's an extremely dedicated player. She always seems to be streaming whenever I end up on Twitch.
Congrats to her!

From what I understand SEED is designed for younger-aged players rather than of skill level.

SEED isn't based on age. People only think that because the first 3 members were all ~13.

True, but Spyte's exposure and placement in tournaments aren't at the level of the Academy team. It's not in Premier Tournaments or whatever but she's really good relatively (ie. for a girl). And as blunt as that truth might be, it's still the reality of the situation
wat.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it, although it may sound like that in my post. Shes certainly a hard worker with a consistent stream. I can see that they recruited her because of her high exposure as a top streamer and because shes female, but skill wise you cant deny theres a significant discrepancy between her and players like sage, minigun, illusion etc. to the point where it does look a bit weird when you see her on the same roster as those kind of players.

Her staying at the ROOT house is a great thing for her, but from the perspective of the other residents, who are (almost) all korean GM level, they cant really practice with her because of the difference in skill level. Like it or not, but this too, is the reality of the situation.

Nope that's not true, Catz said anyone can apply for SEED, regardless of age. Congrats to Spyte, but I indeed would've expected to see her in SEED.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
