Hello Teamliquid!

Let me introduce to you to my very first extension mod. I certainly believe this mod will help you improve your gameplay and ultimate give you confidence in your own abilities on the ladder. The information detailed below is about the design and features and limitations of my mod.

With the release of the extension mod, the SC2 Map editor expanded the capabilities of its predecessors in terms of versatility. This mod was specifically made to address what other Build Orders maps could not: allow players to practice Build Orders in an efficiently and practical manner.

Practice is important, but with hindrance, practicing build orders can be a burden which deters you from continuing. Each and every build order map had problems that I practiced on them. It could be from confusing UI, irrelevant maps, mineral patch disappearing etc. This seriously lowered my morale when I am on ladder. Once I learned that extension mods could be used on any map. I just knew this map had to be made.

To access my Mod, Go to Custom Games > Pick Your Map > Create With Mod > Search "HPK's Build Order Mod" > Enjoy!

• It can be used on any melee maps available on ladder and in custom games. So every new season, you are able to practice builds on the latest maps.

• Able to restart from the beginning of the game without the need to reloading the map.
• Easy-to-use UI to construct build orders.

• Resetting the map provides all doodads and resources to replenish to original state. This reset includes upgrades, researches, minerals, and vespene geysers.

• The timer will also reset to help improve your timings and build order benchmarks.

• Multiplayer (up to 4 players): You gets your own build order list and input your own build order. So you can develop your own 2v2 strategies.

To control the new features, the commands shown below can be implemented using in-game chat (case insensitive).

• !reset

• !clear (clears build order list)

To use the build order list, you have to input the build orders using in-game chat. Please read limitations section for more info.

Unfortunately, I do not know enough of the map editor to remove these problems but will not affect your progress.

• Creep is not removed from the initial positions (when the game begins if either player is zerg)

• !Reset Larva does not belong to player. (You have to manually select larva).

• Zerg players are starting with 6 larva instead of 3 larva.

• Resources does not reset completely. (Ex. 12548 Minerals/4538 Gas -> 100 Minerals/35 Gas). If this happens please reset until you have intially 50 minerals/ 0 Gas. This will be fixed eventually.

• The Build Order list has a strict visibility screen. Any text beyond the borders will not be seen. When you input your build orders into chat please limit yourself to 47 CHARACTERS PER INPUT (with and without space.)
Ex. 47 characters (@100% +1 Infantry Attack, start concussive shell, go).

sixzeros has provided a useful tool that can remove the repetitiveness of copying and pasting line by line into the build order list. Here is an edited version of common builds that can be used in the build order list using Autohotkey injections. Just copy and paste these into autohokey.ahk for each buildorder between " ". Some build orders are compositions of build orders. Ex. Duckdeok's 3 Gate Robo is comprised of 3 Stalker Rush Build order plus the variations that make it the 3 Gate Robo build. So for newer players, use build orders that are composed of parts and work your way towards longer builds orders.

I'd love for this to come to fruition. Right now it's way too inconsistent where I'm often ending up with extra 2 workers after a reset. Resetting a 2nd time fixes this, but I'll often have too many minerals (extra 50 to extra 200 or so) even afterwards. Please keep updating and thanks for stepping forward for this sort of map, these were always super useful.

Just wanted to say that overlord speed upgrade doesn't reset for some reason. Everything else is awesome.

The only option i'd love to see added somehow is being able to save build orders to it (not having to type it in every time)
otherwise, beautiful work :D

What I'm trying to do in the future is to make it so you just copy and paste build orders into chat then my program will do the rest to make it nice and neat on the build order list.

You could use an autohotkey script to inject build orders ,

I cant seem to find this mod on the US server yet, searching for "HPK's Build Order Mod"
but when it pops up I'll contribute something that can at least get you started with a load build order system,
and a way to edit and save them

Looks like an alternative to my hard coded version (in the works). It follows the same principles and detects "," (commas) instead of semi-colons and breaks down each copy/pasted in-game chat into 43 character/line into the build order.

Just a reminder, for anyone reading this, make sure to have a limit of 43 characters/ semi-colon to prevent any visibility issues with your build orders. I made the build order list to make sure its reasonable for practice sessions. Big enough to store enough information for build orders and small enough to not be a hindrance in game play.

It's a cool idea. It's a very simple, lightweight build order training tool. My main complaint is that the build order window is bulky, and can't be resized / moved / clickedthrough. Also, resetting doesn't seem to work sometimes (it gives me random amounts of minerals like 500 or 100), but overall it's good :D.

As for the clicked through portion is only possible in areas where you haven't filled with text yet. It an issue with the map editor and is hard coded.

As for the size, I made the size of the build order list as is because of the size and detail of the build orders described (see build orders). If you check, for example, Innovation's Safe Bio Build, this build is 10:00 minute long build order.

The build order list is like riding a bike. Once the training wheels are off, you won't need to use my BO list anymore. Then, you can move on to the next build order and do it all over again. :D
