I guess if GSTL were to miraculously return, it would have to be with KeSPA teams, probably as an off-season special event kind of thing like the STX Masters Cup.

It's sad and unfortunate to hear, but I saw this coming seeing how a bunch of the esf teams went to kespa once Soul and FXO disbanded

SC2 is dying, only it's dying in South Korea. SC2 is still very popular as a spectator event in Europe and North America, especially Europe which I'd argue is the best region for SC2 and esports as a whole. Just looking at the past tournaments in 2013 nearly all major events outside of Korea dwarf the GSL in live audience and stream viewers.

SC2's future depends on the continuation of PL in 2015.

Sponsors are attracted to viewers, viewers like highest gameplays, those gameplays are created by tight team supports and infrastructures. If PL cease to exists, teams will disband, level of play will go down, people will cease to tune in, and sponsors will be alienated.

PL 2014 is SC2's last stand.

This is a little over dramatic, even without teams, GSL will probably continue via blizzard sponsorship. It's definitely SC2 in Korea's team league last stand, though.
