http://wcs.battle.net/sc2/en/articles/full-season-1-qualifier-dates-for-wcs-2014

Our partners around the globe are beginning to announce their qualifiers for Season 1 of WCS 2014. If your New Year’s resolution is to become an eSports superstar, these qualifiers are your first step toward StarCraft II greatness. In the World Championship Series 2014, it’s possible to go from unknown to Premier League Champion in one season.

Here are all of the dates for all upcoming qualifiers, as well as registration links as they become available:

[NOTE: Please click through to the b.net page for clickable registration links]

Regional WCS Qualifiers
If you’d like to establish residency for a WCS qualifier based on a visa or other temporary residency document, please contact Blizzard eSports at esportsteam@blizzard.com

You must meet the masters requirement to participate in a regional qualifier. You must be Master League on the server the qualifier is played on.

Ladder Wildcard
Players with 200 wins on the region’s host ladder (“Americas” server for WCS America and “Europe” server for WCS Europe) in this or the past season will be eligible to compete in Ladder Wildcard Qualifiers for all remaining spots without meeting any residency or citizenship requirements.

Region Exclusivity and Transfer
Players may only participate in one region — GSL, WCS America, or WCS Europe — per season. Once a player participates in any regional qualifier, they become ineligible to play in other WCS regions until the start of the next season.

Qualifier Map Pools
Each WCS qualifier organizer will determine the map pool used for their qualifier. For WCS 2014 Season 1, all maps will be selected from the StarCraft II 2013 Season 6 ladder map pool and/or the 2014 Season 1 Ladder map pool. Please review the link provided for each qualifier when it becomes available for map pool details.

All Challenger and Premier matches in WCS 2014 Season 1 will use the StarCraft II 2014 Season 1 ladder map pool.

Update on WCS America Qualifiers:
We will be hosting 3 qualifiers for the WCS America Qualifier for US/Canada/Latin America. The top 4 people from each qualifier will earn a spot in WCS America 2014 Season 1 Challenger League.

In addition to this, there will also be a separate Wildcard Ladder Qualifier.

More detailed information about the WCS America qualifiers will be posted soon!

I kept reading that as Esport Steam and I couldn't figure out why Blizzard would have Steam in their email. /sigh.

Either way, looking forward for WCS to start back up! Wonder if any new players will emerge.

Actually it's 48 players total!

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=436104 for the full breakdown. Note that 2014 S1 is different amount of qualifiers than future seasons.

I like the new streamlined Code A format, with 12 double-elimination 4-player groups instead of the slightly arcane 3-round tournament followed by U&D Matches format. Anyone know if GSL will start broadcasting all of Code A again? I was really disappointed last season when they decided to only broadcast a few selected matches from Code A Rounds 1 and 2. Somehow I am not optimistic on seeing all of Code A since the consistent movement in Korea is less broadcasted SC2, not more, but since now there is more time in the schedule for these matches maybe it can happen, even if it's not Tasteosis or Wolfdor doing it.

I haven't seen any info on the ladder wildcard thing though? Any elaborations?

I mean we have now 46 players in gsl + 36 new = 82 - 32 code s = 50 which is why I said 50 so it seems that 2 players who are now in gsl will forfeit their slots (my numbers include zero and aria forfeits)
1 one of them seems to be jjakji but who is the second forfeit?
There is only one player left who is not on a korean team it is Acer.INnoVation

Challenger league is not a group stage, its a single BO5.
