Looks like there is a WCS pre-show immediately after the opening ceremonies, and apparently they think they can do the entire Round of 16 in 6 hours.
That either means they'll be doing multiple streams and/or not broadcasting all games, or they're doing a bracket instead of groups?
Edit: Ahh, there's more info on the page if you highlight the box (thanks Pyloss): Match 1, 3, 5, 7 will be on stage and 2, 4, 6, 8 will be broadcast online only, so second stream, and it looks like it'll be a bracket for Ro16. Hopefully Bo5 the whole way?
I feel like they're willing to push it back for the extra 1.75 hours available if necessary. I don't know why they'd list a schedule till 11 if it was definitively over at 9:15
Also I hope they'll spend a lot of effort on getting some good interviews and smacktalk going, Blizzcon is THE SC2 event of the year, so it'd better be really F'ing great!

They've been building to this for the whole year and not going to show all the matches or have multiple streams? I have a hard time believing they will get through it all in the allotted time as well. O-o

Yeah, if you look at this in context you will be disappointed. If you look at it in CONTEXT, you will be disappointed even more. So i just ignored context and pray they will bother to save replays and release them at least :D
I will be shocked if not every single game is broadcast and commentated. Two streams for sure. Every Season Finals game so far has been broadcast (where they were playing one on main stage and one off, as here); I can't imagine it'll be otherwise in the whole year's Grand Finals. Also remember last year's Blizzcon WCS Finals? It had what, four streams going at the same time?
I don't like the possibility of it being just a 16-man bracket. (which is what the schedule looks like it will be) I personally would prefer the dual-format groups into 8 player bracket. Maybe that is just me though. Also only 2 hours for the Finals?? That isn't even enough time for a Best of 5.

It's at Blizzcon and will have Blizzard's hands all over it. Going on their previous attempts at running games during the convention I doubt it'll come close to expectations.
We waited for a whole year to pick 16 best starcraft players, and get informed that we can't just sit and watch their games one by one but pray for replays? oh wtf..
The format will be the same as for season finals, I'm pretty sure. They've established that way of playing a tournament in EVERY. SINGLE. TOURNAMENT this year. They won't change it for the Global Finals.

Because BlizzCon is not only about SC2. It's about everything Blizzard has done and is planning on doing, and not everyone there will be all about SC2.

Wouldn't that mean there should be MORE time dedicated to the event

Except Blizzcon is only 2 days and have a tighter schedule. Season finals are played over 3 days. Have them have match 1,3,5,7 on stage 1 and 2,4,6,8 off stage indicates it is likely single elim brackets.
Any production better than what was at Blizzcon 2011 will be exceeding expectations in my book. Tournaments produced and held by Blizzard has been lacking compared to that of MLG, Dreamhack, IEM, and obviously GSL. They better not bring that translator they hired or had in 2011. He blew one of the most memorable trash talks.
As a matter of fact, GSL held one of their finals at Blizzcon 2011 at the same event and absolutely blew Blizzard's away.
i hope they watched LoL LCS finals, that is the level of competition they have to match productionwise, and i hope the players will fight hard as well!
(pretty sure the dota2 tourny was pretty awesome as well, but i neither play or watch so)

Nope. They have to fit all of that other stuff into the same time period as the SC2 event, and give people the chance to see that and also be watching SC2. Having a limited time and packing more stuff in it doesn't mean you can have more time dedicated to one activity. Have to carve time out for some main stage Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm action.

It was Bo5s all the way until the finals, which were Bo7. And that event happened over two days just like this will. Until we get some concrete indication as to otherwise, I'm assuming the same thing this year.

There has been a serious lack of whining and complaining on the forums the last three days or so. Everyone is primed to complain about shit that doesn't really matter.

There should be more time for Blizzconnnnnnnnnn
A very significant amount of Blizzard employees spend virtually half of the year preparing just for the massive task of coordinating a two-day Blizzcon (which is why they didn't have it last year). Three days would be even worse.
I think people underestimate just how much planning and actual manpower has to go into something like this. They literally have to plan their entire company around this event, and I'm being completely serious.
