The North American Star League is pleased to announce that Sean "Day[9]" Plott and Soe Gschwind-Penski will once again be joining the NASL crew in Toronto for the WCS Season 3 Finals this October 25th through 27th.
Ben "MrBitter" Nichol, Kevn "RotterdaM" van der Kooi, Andre "Gretorp" Hengchua, Michael "Goswser" Dobbler, and Joshua "Clutch" Gray will round out the casters and hosts for the weekend.
Soe as host is great! Day9 is allways nice. The casting lineup looks pretty weak to me. And the overall lineup can´t really compete with the ones we had at the first 2 season finals.
not sure about the rest of the caster lineup. that's a little disappointing tbh, no offense to any of those guys. was hoping for some representation of other regions, like Artosis, Apollo, ToD, Kaelaris, something like that. and if you wanna stay in America, could've gone with Idra. i guess that's a bit of a risk but i'd love to see him cast something as big as this.
Super happy to see Soe at an American event again! We've missed her.
Also, while Apollo is one of my favorite casters I really don't care to see the same people at every event. Leads to a homogeneous scene, where different events lose their own unique color. I'm glad NASL is sticking to their lineup for the American hosted event. It's pretty strong atm.
Day9 should be casting, I hope he is. Not that I think I'll even watch WCS seasonal finals but w/e
um
no artosis or apollo is kind of weird. if you don't have either of those two and day9 isn't casting either then really, i ask you. idra is already a better caster than most of the names there.
they aren't ALL bad casters but they aren't the premium casters you would want for something as hyped as wcs seasonal finals.
tasteless being the KR exclusive caster that everyone wants but no one can get xD
Kinda disappointed that NASL breaches the habit of having casters of all regions represented at the season finals. That was part of the whole idea to me. Not just the best players of different regions play each other but also the best casters from different regions work together.
Not really in the spirit of a good season final without apollo and artosis...

It could be that the caster, Apollo and artosis might be tired of flying or have other things going on. Or they are coming to the grand slam.
As I always say when it comes to these caster discussions, oceans are big and flights are tiring. People can't expect these caster to be at every event in the world or even a couple a month.

They are all great except Clutch. But that's just my opinion.

Could be that, but I doubt it. Every season final until now had casters from all three regions (Kor had Apollo+Day[9], EU had RotterdaM, Artosis and Chobra), now this one has only the ones, who were already casting NA. And even if Artosis and Apollo are not available, Kaelaris, ToD, Wolf or Khaldor for example are all strong back-ups for them, that would deserve a season final as well (Can´t comment on OGN-duo, have´nt watched for a longer time now).
Im glad that we see no apollo. Hes a good caster and all but hes been to just about every single event for months now and well, oh boy oh boy gets a bit tiresome after a while.

I would have been really happy to see Doa and Montecristo at more events, now that you bring them up...

MonteCristo is now back in Korea after the LoL World Finals, I expect him to stay in Korea for awhile.

I somewhat agree, yet it still is sad that they won't be there - apparently we are too spoiled
Oh well, won't change anything that I will be attending this live

There is nothing about Day9 as host and Clutch casting.

I don't get it. What female casters are you talking about? Honestly I only know of hosts. I mean it's one thing for you guys to complain about having no Europeans there when you actually have Soe who so happens to be European as well. What's the big deal with you people!
Day9 and Soe are joining the list of casters and hosts of Ben "MrBitter" Nichol, Kevn "RotterdaM" van der Kooi, Andre "Gretorp" Hengchua, Michael "Goswser" Dobbler, and Joshua "Clutch" Gray.
It doesn't specify what they are each doing. I think it's safe to say Clutch is hosting, not casting.

Yeah it looks like it'll be setup pretty much the same as NASL S3 last year.
Host: Clutch Casters: Bitter, Rotterdam, Gretorp, Goswser (replacing Frodan) Interviews + some casting: Day9, Soe
Clutch is casting? I've always thought of him as the host type of guy. I guess having 3 hosts is a little much. I'm sure a lot of people are bummed out that we dont have any casters from WCS KR or EU.

She has such a bubbly personality, but I can't complain about Soe though. I equally like them both!
Yeah, I'm glad NASL has a place now in the WCS system but a lot of their quirks that I loved about season 3 and 4 of NASL are gone. I can only guess it's due to Blizzard guidelines

Last time NASL was in Canada it was the same people casting. Too bad I moved for university and won't be able to make it this year. Last time it was awesome I loved volunteering!

No doubt, but that doesn't make my statement incorrect!
Pretty disappointed as well if this is going to be our line up for the most important starcraft 2 event of the year.
Much rather have Artosis with Rotterdam or something along those lines.
I don't understand why Goswser is casting? No offense to the guy, but his casting is not very good and does not have a personality for it yet imo. I thought he was just standing in since frodan left casting few wcs na games is fine but the wcs finals really?? I mean I feel hes just doing to spite IdrA since he rubs his casting job in his face.
Anyways hopefully it turns out great. I really would love to see Tastless fly out and cast with his brother day 9, that would be fun to watch.
Day 9, yay I finally get to meet him in person. Soe there will be great too. I haven't seen her do SC2, at least since Ironsquid... missed her. She's been on the DOTA 2 side with Tobi for the last little while
what the hell is this kind of a lineup? you got Bitter and Rotterdam that works together and then Day9 with either of those two also works. BUT THEN no one else.
They could at least have brought Khaldor, Wolf or Tasteless "Artosis too much time abroad hehe"
Pretty solid caster line up. Didn´t see much of Gretorp but he at least isn´t annoying like some others unfortunately are. Hosts are totally meh. I actually like Soe very much but she seems to be influenced too much by Day9 who to me has become too much of a business man that cannot afford to say anything controversial (at least when being at (Blizzard) events).

Blizzcon is the most important SC2 tourney of the year, not this.
I don't really like Goswser's casting too, but saying he's doing it to spite IdrA doesn't sound very intelligible.
i don't care about casters because i think all of them are doing very good job.. i would just love that rotterdam picks up american accent because dutch accent is so strong and hard to listen :D i mean, i love that guy, he is great, like tod is, but their accents are so hard :D it is like axslav and his L :D
Ah the old game of watch Soe dodge Sean, that's entertainment value right there. The GD studio is going to love this. I'm sure it'll be a good show, although the studio framing for the last round have been a bit weird.

The announcement says nothing about Clutch casting or Day9 hosting.
They didn't hire the Ax Duo because this event is held by NASL and the Ax duo work for MLG.
On October 16 2013 03:27 Fuchsteufelswild wrote: Yay Soe! ^.^ Is this really the season final or is that just confusing wording and they actually mean the WCS America Season 3 finals?
It's the Season 3 finals - hopefully also a good time-slot for me to watch as I am excited to watch em
Am I the only one who misses the Day9/Husky combo of old? I feel like I am slowly falling out of the scene as I am guessing these casters have risen in popularity during my hiatus. Guess I should tune in to see the new personalities.

Cross out Husky, and I'm with you on this one. Apollo + Grubby would be the most awesome pair.
I don't see how anyone can stand Apollo, he isn't the most informative casters and his voice is semi-annoying. The caster lineup is decent but I wouldn't say it's the best or anything. Would like to see Wolf and Artosis mixed in there somewhere, but Soe and Day9 will hopefully fill the void. Soe is pretty cute so that helps

Im surprised to hear this, Apollo doesn't really bug me and neither does his voice. Day9 is the only one of them that is annoying but he's more tolerable when he's casting a game rather than just talking.

Apollo can really drive you into a game though, with good knowledge and being on the spot most of the time. He has a lot of passion, a nice voice and relatively good insights. I really liked to hear Idra with Khaldor, that was pretty good, and I liked ANYTHING that Grubby casts- he is so damn analytical, and (what I like most) talks about the mindset of a player when they scout something, especially stuff early game. Also, he uses English very well, avoiding to use terminology over-and-over again (like 'joining the fray'), but is very articulate - something I love about Idra too. Day9 is ok, but he's a little too nice, and doesn't spot player's mistakes - he can use some brutal honesty from Rotterdam. Also, he can be fuzzy with his language, and describe easy things like his audience is 6y.o. - not really my style...

I would say Apollo has a very pleasant, soft voice. Perhaps it's the accent that annoys you?
