I don't think Scarlett is playing this season. She's taking a break for her wrists. So no chance she makes it.

The Blizzcon championship is going to look like just another GSL. Why did we go through all this trouble to exclude all non-koreans from competing at blizzcon?

It's the foreigners fault for not being clutch when required... Sorry.

They want Blizzcon to be the 'best' tournament with the 'best' players. The system is actually fairly forgiving and gives a few foreigners a chance, while still being mostly Korean so we do indeed have the best. Naniwa has an ok shot at making it, and TBH he got pretty unlucky in WCS EU this season, also Scarlett would have a good chance if she was actually playing in S3. Also the entire RO8 from WCS EU S1 bombed in S2, so that hurt foreigners as no individual foreigner managed to bank that many WCS points even if foreigners in total got a lot of WCS points from Europe.

I'm really hoping someone can catch fire at the right time, but the only people I can reasonably see putting it together for that many rounds are Scarlett and Naniwa, except Nani lost one of his chances (WCS) and Scarlett is dealing with the wrist issues. I suppose you could argue that TLO, Grubby, Lucifron, Vortix, Huk, Suppy, Demuslim or Jim (in no particular order) all have at some point in their career shown the requisite form, but man would it be a massive upset if any of them made it to blizzcon. I'm sure there's a few others who could belong on that list (Sase, Thorzain, etc) but regardless, I'm not holding my breath for it to happen. Techically Grubby just needs to repeat what he did in season 2 and he'll be in ok shape. Not that its an easy thing to do, but at least he has done it, and done it very recently at that. So he's right there after Naniwa and Scarlett. Naniwa NEEDS a good finish (probably top 4) at IEM to make it, then needs to hope the dice fall in his favor. Scarlette is actually one of the most straightforward circumstances imo: if she gets top 6 in AM she'll have at least 3000 points and will probably be in, if she doesnt get top 6 shes out, plain and simple. The only way any other foreigner besides those 3 makes it is if they win EU, or Jim wins AM (no, i dont think its even possible that a non-Jim/Scarlett foreigner can win ) TLO and Sase are both out of WCS so baring a TLO win at dreamhack, its impossible for them to make it. Edit: Is it really confirmed that Scarlett is out? ![]()

"almost all korean" and "all korean" are two very different things. It was already fairly well known that to find the best players in the world, all you had to do was turn on the GSL. All Blizzard has done with this is undermine the validity of the GSL while simultaneously reducing global exposure of non-koreans. It's like they're trying to deliberately kill the SC2 scene world-wide...

Personally I think the hype generated by WCS AM and WCS EU especially did quite the opposite.
