After Innovation's strong debut in the GSL Team League, I spoke with him about the match and his thoughts on the coming GSTL campaign. I also asked him some hopefully new and interesting personal questions. Here are a few excerpts - including some SPOILERS as to the result of that match between FXO and Axiom-Acer.
The other potential choice for FXO's final player was Gumiho. Would you have felt less confident facing him than Leenock?
I didn't really care who would come as their final player, but when I saw Leenock I was pretty sure I would all-kill them because he is a Zerg.
The other opponents in the team league are Azubu, Startale and Soul. Which team are you most looking forward to facing, and which team are you not looking forward to?
I really want to face Team SoUL because it think it will be funny if I win against them. And I don't have any team I don't want to face or am not looking forward to.
What is the most difficult part of your job as a pro-gamer? What about the best?
The most difficult part of being a pro-gamer is that you only get good results when you train hard. So basically, you always have to train harder than every other pro-gamer to be at the top. The good part is that you can earn a lot of money when you get good results!
If you'd like to hear more, please check out the full interview on the Team Acer website. And be sure to let me know if there are any questions you'd like to see answered in a future interview!

Truth of Innovation vZ.

Hey may potentially become the modern Hitler...
He does not draw, it is all fine. Also, Innovation treats AxiomAcer as team Innovation now it seems :D
Would like to see Innovation vs Soul lol. Glad to see him all kill. Maybe traveling around and meeting fans will get him more pumped for the game. At least we got to see him smile last night XD
So, when he says he wanted to join Acer for the more free team environment, I guess he meant he wanted the freedom to practice every waking hour of the day?

I dunno. At first, I thought maybe he is but then once realized that the reason his TvZ is so good and his other matchups(not vT) are good is because he only focuses on the game.
Innovation is innovating the art of giving these terse interviews. Despite being succint and to the point, there are some pretty funny things in this one. Like, his surprisingly cruel wish to beat team Soul, and disinterest in music. :o

Or maybe that was his past life which he had gotten used too? Now maybe with a better practice routine he can create for himself, he'll come out on top. Meaning he can start adding interest and hobbies to his "boring" life...

i thought i read in an earlier interview that his teammates were rather cold to him when he made the GSL finals.
he said he listens to CCM, is that contemporary christian music? that would seem to dispel his aura of a unfeeling killing machine. Still can't believe he won that second game against SC.

I think so. Kespa made their players do physical exercise outdoors. Yuck.
Guys, I really don't think he's being conspicuously boring here. He had a playfully vicious jibe at his old teammates, an extremely level-headed statement on the merits of hard work, and commented that it's not results that matter to him as much as performing well. This "Innovation is boring" spiel seems like more of a meme than a genuinely accurate statement.

No.... he is pretty damn boring. Artosis put it best (paraphrasing): Innovation's 'niche' is being the absolute best, if he's not the best, then he's another faceless Korean Terran.
Still, since he joined Axiom-Acer I have found myself much more supportive of his success. Probably more for Axiom-Acer's sake than Inno's.
