This is absurd... I don't know if it's Blizzard not giving them the right to have it there, since in the current season NASL has SC2, or it's because MLG just wants to change Blizzard's mind about ever having 2 production crews. Either way this is extremely weird and unbusiness-like. What are they going to replace SC2 with instead? Dota2? Honestly, I wouldn't mind that. But if MLG replaces SC2 with some garbage FPS game other than CS:GO I'd be pretty pissed (seeing how most FPS doesn't take skills, at least not as much as CS).

I don't know.. A professional one ?
With an explanation, an apology and some ways to reassure people about the whole thing ?

An alternative is a statement that tries to explain or justify the decision. Would have probably been better PR than a tweet.

Its how Sundance does stuff. Who cares? THis is the exact crap I am talking about. Complaining about who professional the announcement was that informed everyone to not plan on sending their players to an upcomming event. Why do we have this urge to nitpick every single thing that happens in SC2?

Damn you really do hate the community don't you?

People are not only worried about getting tickets for the event but actually what is happening with SC2 and MLG in the future.
"oh no I thought you got it from my last tweet, MLG is done with SC2 GTFO HATERS"
This whole shitstorm that is happening right now is because theres no statement made from MLG, just a tweet.

And as always if people nitpick things theres always a goddamn reason for it.

I don't hate the community, it just tires me out. And there is no shit storm, its mostly honesty.

It's really not. What it does indicate is that North American pro SC2 has been dying for a while and this is it's death throws. EU and KR is doing fine, and the fact that LoL and Dota2, and WoT in some places, are doing better doesn't change that.

There's a lot of nit picking that goes on here, but this isn't an example of it.

You've made it clear throughout the thread you think the SC2 community is just a bunch of whiners. We get it.

On the plus side:

Sean Plott ‏@day9tv 9m

So I hear @redbullESPORTS is brewing some opportunities for North American @StarCraft players.

I think Redbull is a far more exciting partner than MLG for upcomming events. After all, they have a studio and everything. Maybe they could run their own team league.

Where is that Studio? Texas?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It's completely ridiculous for people to even consider expressing their opinion. Especially on a forum on the internet. The SC2 community really is one of its kind in that regard.

When you express opinions out loud or write them down, you run the risk of being told it sucks.

Good news! Maybe my LoL stream will lag less : D

Edit: But to be honest, I'm quite in shock. I thought Terrible Terrible Damage and 10 minutes Swarmhosts deathball fights were great for spectators :/

So now MLG will be just LoL with NA teams and CoD... Good Luck, Have Fun. Actually soon they might drop LoL too, because of Warner - Infinite Crisis. MLG is going in a funny direction.

With SC2 that was always the case imo.
To be honest, i just felt so distant to everything SC2 i just lost interest. It was always "hey fans! remember to retweet/donate/subscribe/whatever so my salary will keep going up!", felt like every single time i was watching something i was just being told to promote players & tournaments. Even if BW had much smaller tournaments outside of Korea, i'd take it over today's drama-ridden SC2 tournaments.

Why on earth would he do such videos when he sponsors a SC2 team and his wife runs said team?

Really bad for the NA scene. with IPL&NASL dead, and WCS NA being dominated by koreans, MLG was pretty much the only good thing going for the NA scene :/
