But how do you announce something like that just through twitter? What kind of announcement do you want? Have a big hype up press release and then just be like "sorry nope"?

With an explanation, an apology and some ways to reassure people about the whole thing ? You know, taking care of your customer base and shit ?

Complaining about who professional the announcement was that informed everyone to not plan on sending their players to an upcomming event. Why do we have this urge to nitpick every single thing that happens in SC2?

Also why should they have to apologize, its not like they did anything immoral?

It's marketing dude. There's rules in what to do and what not to do. They're not stopping sc2 all together, so I'm still a potential customer. And you don't try to piss off people that could potentially watch your content for other games anyway. And you do an apology because it's always better than not do one when you cancel something. It's a no risk potential good reward thing.

SC2 propelled MLG into what it is today. That was the game that took them from mediocre to big time. Sundance spent a lot of time working with the community through sites and shows. I dunno, a paragraph at least on either MLG or TL explaining why and goodbye is in my opinion basic business.

Why do we have this urge to nitpick every single thing that happens in SC2? Damn you really do hate the community don't you? People are not only worried about getting tickets for the event but actually what is happening with SC2 and MLG in the future. "oh no I thought you got it from my last tweet, MLG is done with SC2 GTFO HATERS" This whole shitstorm that is happening right now is because theres no statement made from MLG, just a tweet. And as always if people nitpick things theres always a goddamn reason for it.
