Announced on the WCS site today. There will be a series of four qualifiers, each spanning two days.
Previously, we announced our WCS Season 2 Schedule, including the WCS America Qualifiers, run by Blizzard Entertainment, in cooperation with the Electronic Sports League. All qualifiers are 512 player, single elimination tournaments, in which the top two qualify for WCS America Challenger League. We are now opening sign-ups to the general public.
If you have not created an account on ESL’s website, or registered for a tournament before, there is a very useful guide that can be found on ESL’s website. Make sure to follow the WCS America specific information which can be found on the WCS site.
Rules
The map pool contains only official Blizzard maps, and is as follows:
Red City LE
Akilon Wastes
Korhal Sky Island LE
Newkirk Precinct TE
Neo Planet S LE
Bel’Shir Vestige LE
Derelict Watcher TE
Vetoes
In Best-of-3, a map veto (removal and pick) system is used. The higher seeded player (seeds can be found at round 1 on the grid page) decides who starts. They proceed as follows, with Player 1 representing the higher seeded player.

No not realy its just that ESL has a great system in place for online cups! So they are using that system and kind of the same format with 4 qualifiers and top 2 gettting a spot. Esl wont be producing WCS NA challenger league.
great news... I would wish that only the winner would advance automatically and they would implement a point system, like 2nd place 100 points, 3rd place 90 points, etc. so the remaining 4 places would be awarded to the top 4 players who have the highest points. This way both outbreaks and consistency would be rewarded and would make the finals each run much more interesting.
This cup requires you to be of master league. I am not masters on Europe, however i am Masters on NA. Am i still able to play? If the answer is yes, then the system needs to be changed, as currently i am unable to sign up for the cup.

You know its NA qualifier. Its just hosted by ESL NA division. You need Masters on NA for it.

i really hope that blizzards production can raise the bar again. for all the good things we've seen out of ESL etc last season, starcraft productions are still a step behind LCS.
I followed every direction exactly and literally and perfectly added my account information precisely as shown in the very detailed. I used my account link from battle.net. I added my character code on the end. I have been in masters league for the past 15 seasons! haha i still cannot sign up :D I am going to delete my account and then remake it and do it again because this is probably the only way i will get it to work since i doubt i will receive any assistance and the website is incredibly terrible to make any edits or view my information :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Never mind this wont even work haahaa. If any of the admins would be so kind as to help me out i would greatly appreciate it !^^

Check your birthdate. I had this exact problem, then when I looked at the birthday it said I was born december 12th 2008. You have to be 13 to sign up so this might be the issue with you like it was for me.

The problem with this is that sometimes it takes several weeks to realize that the current builds might not work with new innovative maps, so instead of trying something new players will shit on the new map. I think tournament organizers/blizzard should force new changes, which we are seeing albeit slowly.
Hope I get to see Knocke cast again for the qualifiers or the premier. I do so miss his casting voice from the days of the IPL. Gretorp should be fun-on-a-bun as well.

WCS America Qualifier #1 Tuesday at Noon Pacific Time
The first qualifier for WCS America begins, Tuesday, Jul 02 7:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00). Qualifier attendance is capped at 512 players, so make sure you are prepared for check-in by 18:00 GMT (+00:00) in .
The qualifier broadcast will begin on the WCS Portal at Tuesday, Jul 02 10:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00).

Disputes
Contact an admin to resolve any conflicts between players or for rule clarifications. As stated previously, if you cannot reach your opponent after 10 minutes of direct attempts to contact them, please seek admin assistance.

Guess he probably forfeited his KR spot then. I heard rumors that Hack was supposed to play in this, too, but I don't see him on the signed up player list. I don't remember seeing him play in the Code A qualifiers. Maybe he's playing EU?

Has everyone already forgotten that everyone can change your region (permanently for the year) after Season 1? Everyone was bitching about JYP qualifying for Code A last week and now this?
Everyone can change their region for this season but can't change again until next year.
Anyone from the ESL site please fix my account so that i can play. It wont let me sign up for any of these because my account is linked to another that i cannot remember.

Hey, someone from ESL fix my account asap. I've submitted over 5 support tickets, 2 were deleted without a change to my account.

Edit: What is the point in having a check in when you have to be added to the list for you to check in? This site has been a headache since my time playing WC3 in the ESL.
