it's a risk, but didn't samsung have a streak of like 6 games (they won) in a row via ace match? They probably feel going to ace or 6th game is likely to happen and want their ace player to be warmed up instead of coming off the bench cold (win or lose the 6th set)
also they lost vs kt in r6 3-4 with jangbi losing the ace match to flash after beating him in 3set--jangbi might have said he didn't feel warmed up.
some players like to be more warmed up than others.
+ there's also the fact that you need kinda to force an ace to be able to field the player to play. so its not bad to have someone as 6th / 7th so you can have the 3-2(guaranteed ace) or in case of 2-3 fight for it.
