Please TB, it's just a funny thread, there is no bad or serious thing on the OP. It's not Reddit or whaterver, we can have fun, we don't criticize, we make fun with guys we like or support. Why taking this seriously, do we have to be a monk community who can't laugh sometimes (and we are not harsh at all) ? Other casters made funny comments on this thread, why are you the only guy here who insult us ? It's just a fun thread on clothes. Are you trolling us ? We have other thread like that: funny players faces or "look-a-like". Is it insulting to say MoonGlade look like Baltar ?

Allow casters to dress however they want please.

This thread is in all good fun. Take it on the chin and move on mate instead of being a winging brit.

i think it is really important for both, casters and players to take their appearance seriously. them fulfilling esports prejudices makes it difficult to gain new fans for this kind of competition.

That's also a big reason eSports has a difficult time making it big. I showed Dreamhack to a friend of mine explaining everything that was going on and he was somewhat fascinated, then he started laughing really hard when he saw one of the two finalists with undone beard, random clothing, really bad posture, greasy hair etc. Other than that particular case most progamers look creepy (I did too before I quit) because they don't have the will or time to care about looks when they never get out of home. I appreciate that the casters try, even if they are inherently more stimulated to it by the nature of their job. To be fair it would totally suck if you would have to suit up every time you want to play a match of SC2. And when you only dress up for the livetournaments, you feel uncomfy playing. Skill >> Looks for progamers. (see: MarineKing) Some progamers look like hobos, some are socially awkward. And while nobody would want them to wear a suit for a match at least you like to see people who take care of themselves. That´s what the hairdresser/make-up artists do at studios. Last (?) WCG BW in China, Stork looked like the king of hobos.
While some guys look pretty good (dont stone me here, thats just some examples) like Boxer or DeMuslim, most tend to look a little hobo-ish or plain nerdy. mOOnGLaDe or empire´s Happy come to mind.
Question: How can i link directly to empire Happy?

I like the light and funny side of this thread (such as pikapollo), though it is kind of irksome to see random people genuiely criticizing the way others dress. I think that's what TB may be trying to say here.

First of all thread is super hilarious.
I think it is not super important to be dressed with a 1000 $ + Suit as a caster, but at least if they wear a Suit they should try to fulfill the basic rules.
1. Wear a Belt matching the color of your Shoes. 2. Wear a good Pair of Shoes (black Trouser -> black Shoes) DON'T WEAR SNEAKERS NEVER EVER!!! 3. Trousers should have the right length 4. Tip of the Tie should reach the Belt. ..... obviously there are some more rules but i guess those are the first most important rules.

THis thread makes me feel bad for not having any fashion sense whatsoever
my fashion is nonexistant and primarily based in what I lke to wear :D

You don't have to feel bad. Fashion sense is something that has to evolve. If you don't have to look professional you maybe never have thought about things like: when does a suit looks good, witch color should have my Shoos or witch shirt is the right one. So as long as you don't have to you don't need to. Wearing what ever you feel comfortable in, is totally fine.
|
wow never thought that so much thought went into your suit stuff. An ESL caster once casted in Bathrobe I think thats cooler then suits, depends on the person though.
|
I think its important for casters to look good. Its part of the whole package and while I could care less if TBs tie is too short, a non-esports person could look at it and think its silly and not pay attention to the cast because gamers dont know how to dress. Personally TOD looks the coolest here. Everyone should look like James Bond when they cast
BASIC FASION ADVICE if youre going to suit up, suit up right. Jackets and shirts fitted 7 ways to tell if your suit fits, shirt ironed, matching color schemes, match belt color with shoe color and of course... The tie... Double Windsor that doesn't have too big of a knot and that is the proper length (tip on the belt buckle). My qualifications: I learned all this from etiquette class as a kid lmao
Buy a suit! Jos A Bank Wait for a sale though.
PS: I take it back, Ash + Pickachu combo is THE BEST

I disagree, ToD's look is boring. Even at a formal client presentation, I add some color with a tie. The fit is great, but the color leaves something to be desired.
