(A Quick Translation)

Since there is no interview translation out yet, I thought I can do a quick translation for people who want it fast. It's not a very actual translation, so please wait for the good ones on TL.

Better translation here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=415452#15

Q: First time champion, what are you feelings right now?

Soulkey: I have desired for this champion and practiced so many. When I was 0-3, I thought I was screwed. But I fought to the end. Next time when I get a champion, I will not cry anymore.

Q: You was kinda giving up after 0-3

Soulkey: my mood was pretty bad when 0-3. Teammates and coaches helped me to relax. They made some jokes, talked about strategies etc.

Q: Why 0-3?

Soulkey: It's because of the 2 proxy rax rush in game 1. This first hit limited my freedom and performance in the later games.

Q: Everyone thought Innovation has advantage before the finals.

Soulkey: I think if I could win the first game, then it would be much easier. I prepared so much, I was kinda confident before the finals.

Q: Who helped your practice for the finals?

Soulkey: MMA came to our teamhouse and did some 1v1 with me. Flash practiced with me, helped me perfect my strategies. Especially MMA, I need to buy him a meal.

Q: What's your expectation for the season finals?

Soulkey: It's kinda hard. But this victory gives me confidence. I think there is a good chance. It's not only season finals, I want to go further.

Q: In Ro4 you had a 4-3 too.

Soulkey: If it's in the past I would have lost 4-0. But my will is stronger now and have more desire for the champion.

Q: Did your lost in SPL against Innovation affect today's games?

Soulkey: That loss was due to my misjudgment. It didn't affect today's games. Today's strategies on game 4, 5, 6, 7 are quite new. They have some unexpected effects. Thank you for my teammate KimHanSaem 'KassiA' for recommending the strategy to me.

Q: A few players couldn't keep their momentum after they got champion.

Soulkey: Some players rise and fall, some players can keep at the same level for a long time. I hope I can be the latter.

Q: Say something to your foreign fans.

Soulkey: I didn't participate much in foreign events. It's a pity that people are not familiar with me. I'm glad I can show good games to foreign fans today.

Q: How are your going to spend your price money?

Soulkey: Because the price money is less than before, I don't think about that too much. When I get the money, I will spend some with my teammates, and I will send the rest of the money to my family. But it seems like those guys (teammates) are not going to let me have any (smile).

Q: You became strong after HOTS.

Soulkey: I need to thank Light. He helped me a lot about the game, such as the meta, unit usage, especially the details about Terran. At the same time, I need to thank Blizzard for making this expansion that made me perform well.

Q: Last words?

Soulkey: We are going to take SPL champion. Please cheer for us. I memorized many things to say before the finals, but I forgot all of them

Cool to see MMA help Soulkey. I guess the ties with coach Ryu Won are still active and beneficial.

MMA, huh? Guess he still has it then. If he's the main practice partner for the best Zerg in the world for the finals of the best tournament in the world, he has to be one of the best Terrans still, no?

Since I am nice, I will do the translation of the actual Korean interview.

Q. You claimed your first championship with a dramatic comeback. Anything to say regarding your victory?

My desire to win was huge and motivated me to put in a lot of effort. When I was losing 0:3, I thought to myself "this is really difficult", but I think the reason for my victory was because I managed to recover my mentality. I am really happy. I cried because I became emotional, but I will make sure not to cry next time. (laughs).

Q. Foreigners were predicting Lee Sin-Hyung (Innovation) to win.

If I won the first game, I think I would have easily won the championship. But, I did not win the first game and that is why I struggled to win. I practiced for this match more than any other matches of my life. I had confidence and predicted that I would win.

Q. You lost 3 games in a row and did not look so good. How did you feel when you were down 0:3?

After I lost 3 games, I was almost out of my mind. But, after the 3rd loss, the coach and my teammates talked to me and I was able to recover little by little. My coach, who is usually strict, even talked playfully to me so that my tension can be relieved.

Q. You crumbled somewhat easily in the beginning.

After I lost the first game due to the Barracks rush, I voluntarily hung myself out to dry. As a result, I naturally became more tense. The first set had a big impact on me.

Q. It is known that Moon Sung Won (MMA) and Lee Young Ho (Flash) helped you in your practice for the Final.

Byun Hyun Woo (Byun) of Prime also helped me practice and MMA not only practiced with me, but he also watched my games. I received a lot of help with unit-movement control and build-order. Flash also practiced games with me. I think I will have to buy MMA a lot of delicious things. I want MMA to stay at our team house little longer.

Q. The season final is coming soon. Are you confident that you can win?

I think the season final will be even harder. I feel that this victory is something that will allow me to work harder. So, I have some hope in my chances at the season final as well.

Q. Like you did for the semi-final match. you won the final with all sets played.

I could have lost 4:0. But, my mentality became stronger and my strong passion for the championship allowed me to win.

Q. How did your last pro-league game against Innovation affect you?

I lost because I made a wrong decision in that game. So, it did not have effect on me. In the fourth game of the final, I tweaked my build order that I used in the past to try to have a psychological effect on Innovation. That is why I was able to win that game. my fellow teammate Kim Han Sam (KassiA) recommended me to use it. I want to give thanks to him for his help.

Q. There were many moments where you could have used Nydus Worm, but you did not use it a single time.

I am not the type to use Nydus Worm often. It's not that I don't think about using it, but the games between Symbol and Innovation made me think that Innovation will already have prepared for Nydus Worm and thus I did not use it.

Q. Were you tempted to use an all-in in the final set?

In the 3rd game, I chose to all-in instead of using my prepared build and lost. Because of that, I had no thoughts on using an all-in in the final game. I had already won 3 games and I had confidence in the last map (Daybreak). That is why I chose to play a macro-style game and also luck was on my side.

Q. You were able to leave a strong impression on foreign audiences.

Starting today, I have a chance to make myself known. I will definitely show a good performance in tournaments overseas if I have the chance so please cheer for me.

Q. How will you use your first championship prize money?

Because the prize money was smaller than what it used to be., I did not really care for it from the start. I was determined to win for the sake of the championship itself. Once I receive the prize money, I will send it to home and also use some for my teammates. I don't think there will be much left (laughs).

Q. The season final will begin soon. The players of Europe have already been determined and the America WCS's Round of 8 will begin in 7 hours. Do you have any players or a specific race to play against?

I do not know that much about players overseas. I think the season final will most likely be competition between the Korean players.I predict extremely difficult games.

Q. You are the first championship winner of Heart of the Swarm.

I claimed my first championship and is also the first championship winner of HotS (laughs). I am really honored. I want to become a player who everyone remembers forever. I am really happy that HotS was released. I truly thank Blizzard for releasing HotS (laughs).

Q. What was the reason for your improved performance in HotS?

I think that is due to Jae Ho Hyung (Lee Jae Ho, aka Light). Light taught me a lot of things about the game and as I learned more about HotS, I gained confidence. He taught me how to understand the situations that occur in the game and act accordingly with the right movements. He even prepared builds for me in today's games. I always thank him for his help. Our team terran players also helped me late in the night. I especially want to give thanks to Jin Pyo (Han Jin Pyo, aka Rudy).

Q. Woonjin Stars has a great record in pro-league.

There is not much time until the first place is determined. If the team works hard, we can claim first place and also win the playoffs. Now that I won in the individual league, I think a victory in proleague will make this season the greatest of my career. I will try my best to make sure that the team wins.

Q. Any last words?

The coach gave me a lot of help in preparing for the final. I want to thank our manager as well for always supporting me. I appreciate all of my teammates and I hope we can win in pro-league as well. I give thanks to my fans who always cheer for me. I am really happy that I won today and I hope everyone continue to cheer for me. I originally had something to say, but I forgot it (laughs).

Thanks for the translations to both the guys! And not to start the rumor mill going, but i'd be stoked to see MMA go to Woongjin. It'd make me pretty happy if he decided to fully buy back in to the kespa training system and hopefully ramp his skill back up to top tier.

The first time I saw Soulkey play was in the Winner's League playoffs vs STX Soul. At that time, both Woongjin Stars and STX Soul had very strong and very deep lineups. Woongjin Stars opened with their strong Rookie player MVP, who eventually became the IMMvp we know today. After this defeat at the hands of Kal, one of the strongest Protoss players at that time, it was time for Woongjin to choose which of their many strong players will take the remaining 3 slots. To everyone's surprise, Neo.G.Soulkey, a completely no-name player will no prior good results was sent out. My heart sank a bit, knowing that after Neo.G.Soulkey gets taken out, Woongjin Stars can only depend on two of their strong players. By some miracle, Soulkey took game after game with stunning play and somehow all killed STX. He wasn't playing against weak players either. STX Soul at the time had the Kal/Calm duo, two of the strongest players at the time, along with Modesty, the strongest ZvZ sniper. Who would have thought a complete rookie could take them all down? From then on, Soulkey continued to display amazing results, grabbing proleague wins left and right, and even getting minor results in MSL and OSL. It wasn't long before Soulkey and ZerO stood shoulder to shoulder as the ace Zerg players of Woongjin Stars. Until today, Soulkey still remains one of the strongest players in all of Starcraft. It has been an amazing journey for him, starting off strong, and continuing to be strong, never even slumping. For a player of his caliber and consistency through such a long period of time, nobody deserves to win this title more than he does. You fucking deserved this Soulkey!

Would have thought Flash to help Bogus instead considering they seem relaxed with another. Perhaps beating flash didn't work in his favor after all also nice of MMA to help.

I gotta say coming back from a 0-3 is something of an insane mentality switch, coaches and teammates would have helped i am sure but it's he who gets back in that booth and has to win 4 games strait in a row, Soulkey will always have my respect for that, i don't even care about the level of play, coming back like this is faaaar more impressive.
