Thanks so much for your help so far in showing Papa John's how much we all love #ESPORTS. The participation in our pizza.gg promotion thus far has been incredible. We've seen hundreds of thousands of visits to the website, and we hope you'll keep up the activity! Who doesn't want half-price pizza, after all?
We're posting this message not just to thank you for your help so far, but also to update you on the status of our eSports Pizza Progress tiers, which are designed to help reward the community for all of its hard work! If you head over to pizza.gg, you'll notice that in just one day, we're already at Tier 5 of our 10 possible tiers! This means that we're ready to give away lots of cool stuff, like Papa John's gift cards, mousepads, shirts, LoL skins, and D2L ticket/courier bundles!
Here's how the giveaways will work (remember, you're only eligible if you've ordered a pizza):
1) Send a Tweet to either @EvilGeniuses, @TeamLiquidnet, or @ROOT4ROOT and include #PIZZAGG in your Tweet.
2) Include a screenshot of your Papa John's receipt or a picture of your Papa John's pizza box.
3) Make sure to reference @PapaJohns in the Tweet as well, so they'll hear about all of this #ESPORTS awesomeness.
4) Later tonight, we'll randomly select the winners. We'll let you know who's won later this week!
Again, thank you for all of your help. We'd ask that if you haven't ordered a pizza from Papa John's yet, you think about heading over to pizza.gg and getting one! If you've already ordered a pizza and you enjoyed it, please consider getting another - remember, this 50% off promotion lasts all week, and there are still some great Pizza Progress tiers to reach - like an EG.LoL music video, iNcontroL & TLO switching teams, and a community pizza party!
Sincerely,
Evil Geniuses, TeamLiquid, and ROOT
Good job everyone!
Here is the tier list again:
Tier 1 - 25 Papa John's gift cards given to fans who've purchased pizza Tier 2 - 25 Legendary LoL Skins or D2L Ticket/Courier Bundles to fans who've purchased pizza Tier 3 - 25 EG or TL mousepads given to fans who've purchased pizza Tier 4 - 25 EG, Liquid, or ROOT shirts to fans who've purchased pizza Tier 5 - EG, Liquid, or ROOT players (selected by community) will conduct a series of live, on-stream AMAs Tier 6 - EG, Liquid, and ROOT cross-game showmatches Tier 7 - EG pizza eating contest between Machine, HuK, and DeMusliM casted by djWHEAT Tier 8 - iNcontroL and TLO will switch teams for a week and act as head coaches in an EG vs. Liquid off-race showmatch Tier 9 - EG.LoL will film a special music video cover, with the song selected by the community Tier 10 - EG, Liquid, and ROOT will host a community pizza party at an upcoming North American live event
We've already achieved the green ones, hopefully we can get to 8 that is my favorite one.
I ordered pizza last night even though I didn't get the 50% US pricing. I'm fairly certain that I still accessed the site through pizza.gg; am I still eligible, or are the giveaways strictly US-only?

Hope nobody ate the whole thing, and then threw out the box+receipt.
Then again, if a single person ate an entire pie in a single day, I feel they wouldn't terribly mind buying a second pie, considering their dying love for pizza and all...
still no info on how many pizzas each tier is. if i owned a tin foil hat i could point out that it doesnt actually matter how many pizzas we buy if they can just change the required number per tier at any time.

It's been said over and over dude...
Ok well I don't see the answer in this thread here, and I haven't read every one of the dozens of pages of the other threads, so perhaps if you know the answer you could let the people in this thread know and be helpful instead of being snide? That would be appreciated very much, thanks.
edit: For anyone wondering, someone's let me know that the giveaways are US only.
Why is it only now made clear that one needs a twitter to receive prizes? Pretty stupid if you ask me, my money means the same to PJ's regardless of whether or not I have a twitter, which I do not.

Because then you'd be sending ESPORTS gear to random people who only used the promocode to get a 50% deal. By using twitter they're ensuring that only people who actually know/care about what the deal is for will recieve prizes.

It's also great publicity.
There are plenty of ways to ensure that a poster or community member is authentic in their support without requiring that they use twitter. Furthermore, if its such a good idea, why wasn't that made clear from the outset?

Yes but twitter is the easiest to organize all the entries instead of manually having to dig through a reddit post or a TL thread.

Now, I'm just using the dota 2 compendium as a model, so my numbers may be off just a little bit, but I'm guessing $1.6 million worth of pizzas need to be sold to reach tier 10.

I think its US and Canada only. Might be just the US. I'm pretty certain it isn't offered anywhere else though.
COME ON 'MERICANS start eating we must get T8. Your already quite good at it so fit in a wee bit more for the next week for the rest of the worlds sake. :p

Yep. don't have a twitter/facebook account, don't intend to have one... Not that I care that much about the goodies, but still it would be fair to announce upfront that signing a EULA with Twitter Inc. was required to participate....
I may come up as a party pooper, but if the sponsor was, say, Subway, I'd be much more proud. Gamers sometimes (arguably) appear as fat, so why do we get fed with pizzas instead of something healthier? Still congrats on getting recognised though.
I purchased with my Papajohns account, I wonder if the rewards/gift cards/etc are based on account or some information here on the tags on the box? It hadn't occurred to me to keep the box, but I guess I'll cut off the part with the labels on it in case I win something cool.

Subway isn't particularly healthy, although they are perceived to be.
Also it doesn't really matter. Sports fans eat a lot of pizza, wing, burgers, whatever else. Sponsors are sponsors, bring da money
Must get to teir 8!! I I ordered pizza for all of my employees, and plan to until this is over. We even ordered an extra one for the two homeless guys in the park. Also, I don't think any of them even know what Starcraft is so if I get any of the mousepads/shirts, I'll just give them away, or donate them or something. A friend of mine ordered 10 pizzas, and had them delivered to a RedCross in Moore, Ok. We might do that tomorrow too.

I believe I read somewhere that he actually caved in and said they would. I think it was in the Wall Street Journal. ;/
People complaining about having to use twitter for prizes... lol. Twitter is such a useful tool for esports. You can follow all of your favorite streamers and know instantly when they are streaming. You can see live tweets for match results for tournaments you don't have a chance to watch. You can send messages to your favorite pros and have a high chance of a response!!! So why wouldn't you want one???? It's so easy to use and so nice to have.
If I order my pizza now am I still eligible for the shirt or have they already given out the lower tier prizes?
They haven't given out prizes yet. You better hurry!!! They are doing it soon!

I propose that a new tier is a TL - EG wrestlemania featuring Huk, Incontrol and Hot Bid, cast by total biscuit. If not maybe the famed duel between Thorzain and Hot bid?

Well that depends on the actual scale of the tiers... From what I've seen on Twitter and in the other thread a lot of pizza's have been ordered just to get to where we are now!
I'm going to get a couple pizzas this weekend, though I bet you all will have hit tier 10 before then cause 50% off pizza + helping esports is a pretty awesome combo.

That's all fine and dandy, and you can laugh all you want; none of that changes the fact that the contest site says that the prizes will be given to those who buy pizzas, not to those who buy pizzas and tweet about them. Furthermore, contests and promotions tend to go over better when the rules and terms are made clear from the outset, rather than being clarified after the event has begun. That's nice that you love twitter so much.

It would be really cool to see how many pizzas were bought. Maybe they could just put a number beside it showing how they sold. But I don't think they will.
its kinda sad, i refuse to use facebook or twitter or any of those online sites, as i feel they take away rights, since things you say or do can be used against you. I wish they would just use the address and name you supply when you order using the code. I will lose out on any of the drawings, but i guess what really matters is that its going to support something i really enjoy.
The whole promotion and meter stuff seems like someone planned it last minute. Such poor, unprofessional execution of a marketing campaign. Not sure if the fault lies with Papa John or the e-sport organizations involved. The first time I read rules, I had no idea how the prize will be given out or how to be eligible besides just buying a pizza. There's no timeline of when the prize will be given out, how many prizes, the odds of winning, and other information you usually find in a contest. There's no number associated to each tier. Hell, you guys can be making up the numbers right now. The meter never updated in near real time. Even an hourly update would be appreciated; it's not that hard with current technology. The entire execution made it unappealing to support this promotion.
Next time, spend more time planning out your strategy.

Wow lol. Please elaborate in what way facebook or twitter takes away your rights.
So I'm in Europe, but I'd be really happy to support this project by ordering a few pizzas for a homeless shelter or a family that could use some support (it's not great nutrition, but even the poor deserve to enjoy a good pizza, right?) Does anyone have any information that might help me set up something like that?

Probably privacy, though obviously you can choose what you put on there or not.

You preemptively give away your 4th and 5th amendment rights. and even outside the confine of government actions, follow the news: how many people get in trouble in their professional life for stuff they said on twitter or fb... think of it like tatoos. they may feel 'cool' to you today.. but will you feel the same in 5, 10, 20 years...
Furthermore, twitter and FB _do_ have EULA and so called 'Privacy Rules' (or lack thereof)... so essentially, now the requirement to participate in the marketing campaign orchestrated here is to agree to twitter EULA... that kind of stuff should be clearly indicated _before_ inciting a sale based on a promotion.
PS: I would have bought my pizza regardless, since _I_ did not buy one for the remote chance of getting a T-Shirt or a MousePad, but still, that is a unpleasant precedent, and I think a legally actionable one.
Bet Papa Johns are loving E-Sports! Bet "Tuesday" sales have gone through the roof haha! Well done 'Murica!
Also for the love of god please get to Tier 8 asap!
Also has anyone won any Mouse pads/Shirts/Vouchers or anything? Would be good if people posted saying if they had won so we know that Papa Johns are actually sticking by their promises
I live in a mid-sized town with really bad pizza. It's like $50 for a decent one as well. Ridiculous. Saw a Papa John's pizza and I wept. I want to see tier 7 though so keep eating.

Will be buying pizza tomorrow as well to support this. But also disappointed at the Twitter/Facebook only submissions. There are many of us who refuse to use such services because of their blatant privacy violations.
Added another three pizzas from two my friends and I got yesterday. Probably going to get more soon! I really want that Tier 10, especially if it's held at Anaheim since I missed the BarCraft despite being there.
