And to a certain extent, Idra is right - he does attract a lot of viewers without performing. I've always found it embarrassing for the community to see Liquid.HerO or [insert great player here] get only a fraction of the viewers Idra does. I think where Incontrol was wrong, was the value of Idra. Especially given this type of release, I think he is akin to a quickly devaluing stock. Someone might be foolish enough to pick it up and cause a slowing in the freefall, but the only person who can turn the course around is Idra - and that isn't by doing things the way he has been. Idra might have been one of the most valuable SC2 players, but he is killing/has killed his value. One of the key parts of getting viewers on stream seems to be exposure. Most players gain exposure by playing well. Some do so by providing other content to the audience (i.e to SC2 community). However, a screaming and kicking child will only get attention for so long, and the exposure will eventually mean nothing when no on wants to hear it anymore. Its one thing to ride a gravy train, but quite another to scream from the top of your lungs how stupid everyone is for letting you do it. | ||

While he hasn't said the best things before, he was always very kind in person. And his influence on the scene was no doubt important in growing it to what it is today. The real problem is that we honestly don't see much of real-life Greg. People all know he's really BM and behaves like a dick towards even his own teammates sometimes, but again that's related to the game. Someone with anger issues is automatically deranged? There was another thread about a guy who was asking for help, cause he raged at sc2. He was a calm person in all his life apart from this. So again, saying someone is deranged is a bit of crap. Thats by the by. The point of my post, is you bringing up the fact that "apparently" he hit his gf, which is total frabrication unless substantiated with proof.
