I watched the ragequit versus Polt in WCS and laughed like crazy. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary - that's the Idra most of us are used to. If EG booted him for that, it doesn't make any sense. Haven't gone through the other 50 pages in this thread or loaded SoTG on time, so if it was for something else, ignore this.

On a serious note, if idra does quit playing I hope he will be a caster.

I don't like Idra's attitude, both about the game (leaving too early) and about the people he plays with (being unnecessarily rude). However, the few times I've seen him cast, I really enjoyed listening to him because he brought a greater depth of game analysis than any regular caster I've ever heard, so I would very much enjoy seeing Idra become a caster, if he happens to choose that path.

The sc2 community is "not good" to say it politely. The community puts way too much focus on the "entertainment"-side of a player and as soon as someone does something slightly questionable he gets hated so badly for it. For example the ddos incident with stephano shows how high the hating can peak (its not ordinary, but still very alarming to me). Also, the players you meet in ladder make IdrA look like the politest man in the world. The last "gg" I received was combined with a "fu**er". Plus, i actually dont feel like a part of a community. We play the same game, but I dont feel a "together" at all. Could be a personal thing though. The last point I want to mention is viewers on streams, being the community. The chats of a large number of streams reflects a massive immaturity, being filled with trolls and offending people, not representing that much of a support to esports. So I think IdrA criticizing the community is a good move to me, cause he's one of the few ones that mentions that without fearing to lose money cause a part of that "community" could stop "supporting" esports by bringing money to the companies. I hope he gets a new team that at least in some way still believes in the spirit of esports, not the spirit of money. Cause thats the impression I got from EG the last months and finally with this act. So let me finish this post with a final example of how grown up the community is. ( I hope the picture is fine, please delete if someone has a problem with it )

Any business would jump at the opportunity to drop an expensive commitment, with no future. It's bittersweet to see IdrA's own money grubbing logic bite him in the ass. Despite his recent comments making my stomach crawl, I wish him all the best in the future, whatever he does Starcraft or not.

I'm a big fan of drama and shit talking. I believe that it makes following players and the community much more interesting. However, I've never heard of any sports personality blatantly call their fans a bunch of fucks (even jokingly) without any kind of repercussions. Even *if* he's on the roster to play the "bad boy" attitude, his consistently negative attitude is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on EG as a team and their sponsors. I'm sure that Greg is a very nice person IRL, but EG made the right decision here.

Talk about giving a guy 1bil chances. This is way overdue. EG with idra has been like a movie where they bad guy always gets away and you just want the good guys to finally catch him. I hated his BM-style in his BW-days and I couldn't believe that EG picked him up. Idra is the reason why I never liked EG and this move will surely make me reconsider. A bit too late, but still.

Who gived a crap about EG before IdrA joining in? These news is the absolutely *BEST* thing that could happen to IdrA: EG is a graveyard of players, and I don't really know what, but they do something very very wrong, because every single player that joined the team, has hugely declined in performance.

For those people who say that IdrA wasn't a PRO, if anyone remembers the Hotbid interviews, IdrA was the only player that in the end of the interviews he - by himself - thanked and mentioned every single sponsor in a way that this back and forth relationship could work and help eSports. He was real and showed very thankful - what every sponsor needs. On the other side, other EG players didn't even memorized all sponsors and pointed them on their shirt while laughing about it. Yeah, very professional and very good attitude in order to help eSports grow!

EG took fame from Greg, now they believe they don't need him anymore. History will show who was right and who wrong. Only sure thingis that they brought champions like HuK and Stephano and did convert them to public servants. They should hire Scarlett to complete the lineup.

If Greg continues to sc2, things can't go any worse than being a pawn on EG's poor scheduling and promotion.
I wish him the best. Haters will hate anyways...

The Polt thing wasn't the issue. It was the comment he made here on TL that preceded it that made it all look really bad.
