The people who praise idra for being a person who "speaks his mind" are often the same people who get mad when people in this thread speaks their mind about idra. Why would anyone get mad over that ? Also in first 172 there were not that many who said so not sure about last 30 pages of this thread. Sure haters are "speaking their mind" but that doesn't disqualify them from being hypocrites with double-standards.

Just what I was thinking looking at the stream list. Idra just has such an incredible brand and following, must be inundated with offers or could prob get his own sponsors Grubby-style. I think what he said was really out of line and EG were right to get rid, but still no denying Idra will not be hurt career wise by this. If anything strengthened, since the whole anti-establishment bad boy kinda image is what it is based on Out of those viewers who is actually in there to watch him win? Who actually leaves adblock off to support him? His stream is 80% trolls and people there only to watch him fail game after game so they can make fun of him and troll him. Viewer numbers don't mean anything. EG might've lost some viewers but you can't have your teammate calling other teammates pieces of shit. His attitude is that of a 16 year old and people are seeing that for what it is. So who does that attract? Other people with the same attitude. That's not a good thing for a majority of them. I watch IdrA, and I don't troll him. I think most people that watch his stream are just fans of his play and analysis. The problem is that IdrA's personality attracts a small, but very vocal minority of knucklehead fans — people that want to troll him and EG, or people that are trolls themselves. InControl said it best. IdrA is so popular that when he does say-or-do something fucked up, it has a much larger impact on the community and EG's image than any other player's opinion. Even if IdrA is 'famous', he's not mature or responsible enough to represent an entire team/business.

He's one of the best casters in the world because he's so cerebral and actually soothing to listen to while casting - and understands the game very well. The thing is, he can basically do whatever he wants especially after all of this. I sometimes wonder if he was asking for them to pull the plug on his deal with them. Some people just really don't want to mess with having a boss. Hate to break it to ya but he's going to have a boss anywhere he goes. If he commentates it will be tournament owner and if he joins a team it will be the team owner. Finally if he gets a personal sponsor, they will be his boss. No one gives away money without strings attached.

He's great at casting, he won't play so won't get frustrated, so he won't throw random death threats at random people, then his life will be better. Then he'll become a better player perhaps too :D To keep that level of knowledge and analysis needed to be the best caster you have to play. Play a lot. Watch Nal Ra Old Boy (links to translated videos available on TL). He comments in that about how much more he saw as a commentator after trying to go pro again. You can be a good caster while being a mediocre or bad player. You can't be the best without being a very good player.

He doesn't win for shit, still somehow fan favorite, regardless if he loses or not. He just doesn't give a fuck, and is loved either way. If Grubby loses, people get pissed at his poor play, clearly unimpressed, if Idra loses, people laugh and have a good time. You cant tell me Idra isn't in a pretty sweet spot
