You have to realize something very important. Koreans don't give a fuck about being entertainers or drawing 5k viewers on their streams. In fact streaming harms them because they are actually in meaningful matches on a consistent basis, so giving their opponent extra information hurts their bottom line. When they have a break some will stream simply to satisfy their fans for a bit and that's it, before they have to again focus on their team league or indvidual matches. Idra isn't in that position and hasn't been for quite awhile. He's not worth the trouble to anyone to have to check out his stream.
Koreans if they cared enough about streaming to establish a schedule and even get a translator. They are more interested though in winning actual tournaments and hiding their play as much as possible rather than relying on /commercial and maximizing stream numbers. The fact that Idra harps on stream numbers show where his priorities lie and where they have been for a very long time.
Tiger woods - Infidelity. He bounces back by winning. Charlie Sheen style.
Greg 'IdrA' Fields - Bad call, bad public comment. Kyle Sandilands** style.
Will he bounce back? I hope so man, he needs to re-establish his love for the game, and perhaps come back with a different play-style to freshen it up. Good luck to him, he will learn from this.
** Kyle Sandilands, Australian radio and TV personality; got in deep shit for saying the wrong thing to general public and certain individuals. He survived the backlash and is still being hired.

In the end, we are all fuckers that watch some fucking nerds play video games, for a living.
Let that sink in for a while.
Best of luck for Idra.
I let it sink for a while and came to the conclusion that your comment is retarded. Thank you for contributing!
You're just in denial, it happens to the best of us
In denial of what exactly? In denial of the assumption that by stating the obvious fact that we are guys watching guys playing video games and replacing "guys" for "fuckers" he made a strong point?
Not to surprised about this. I'm not sure why a team would want such a negative player on their team, ruins the image in my opinion. Either way, GL finding a new team sir Idra

because the team grows instant from X to an A class team its surely not easy to have him in team, but i think its still better then not having him ^_^ for the most of the time (unless you famous like EG and your image is more importent)
He never loved this game - like many BW players, he switched since there was better/easier money to be made at first. When the level of competition started to increase he just couldn't find the motivation to become good enough. Players shouldn't carry on when they don't really have a passion for the game, or they end up unhappy and losing like Idra, Nony, Cloud, Sea. Legends like Mondragon and Horang2 made the right decision to leave when they realised that they wouldn't get the same joy out of SC2. Idra should have moved on long ago.
EG obviously did the right move. I think it's time for Idra to find a new career. Maybe some people here will keep watching his streams, but I never really learned SC2 watching them. He never explained his thought process, talked strategy, etc. I think he's taken the Paris Hilton approach, which can generate a ton of buzz during the 15 min of fame, but will fail to sustain a long-term fan base.
Some of his comments are simply not true. I've seen Taeja stream a couple times, and they were easily into the thousands.
Finally, his performance is simply abysmal. To my knowledge, his only job is to be a SC2 pro. Suppy is a full-time student...
This guy is the biggest a$$hole in E-sport History. I'm so glad he is finally out and really hope he will not return on any condition.
Beeing an old "progamer" on an all-different sort of game (Quake), I find that throwing 3000/3000 200/200 games at this level is like stating that "I dont have the level required to play at this stage, i'm just ragequiting".
I hope he ends up washing the floor at McDonald's, that's all he deserves from the little I've heard him say about people and opponents on his stream.

This is retarded. 'I object to this person being an asshole, I take affront to it'............ Types a message that is just as obnoxious.

We have tennis pros that insult their opponents. Football (soccer) stars that physically assault other players or doing the nazi salute. Professional sports is full of assholes who don't give a shit about anyhting especially their fans.

Well, I think Falcuma's an example of why the sponsors for EG would've wanted to force Idra's release. Idra may actually harm their marketing campaigns given what negative feelings Idra can evoke. Really, if you're being paid as a pro to represent companies or a team, you should act professionally!
To be fair, IdrA was out of line with his comments as of late and had a very long history of BM. I expected disciplinary action on EG's half, perhaps a suspension that lasted a few games, but nothing this extreme.
That being said, I'm glad EG is stepping up and saying, "We do not tolerate this behavior in any way, shape, or form;" even if it's a little extreme.

.....aaaand are fined and not allowed to play in the national team as a consequence.
They are rarely fired though.
That said, most of the sports that comparisons are made with here are established, lucrative and with huge fanbases as it is. E-sports is still very much a nascent activity, and thus not directly comparable in such a way, yet.

I may have been a little "like him" on my statement, I agree with that. But it's the only way I got to express how Idra made me feel the few times I've tried his stream. His vocabulary depth was about 3 words : "fucker", "noob", "noobfuckernoob".
I can't stand a World Class known player behaving like this... just makes me sick
Got shitload of respect for EG considering what they invest in esports since years. That beeing in total contradiction with what Idra did for the last 3 years... just my 2c
