In the end, we are all fuckers that watch some fucking nerds play video games, for a living.
Let that sink in for a while.
Best of luck for Idra.

Well , you really just changed everyone opinion ..... Everyone's thinking now aren't they ?!?! ..... Lol. Idra has been acting like a prick for too long , still 1 of my favourite players , he's the guy I 1st really learnt from watching , teaching me the basics of sc2 playing Zerg , little tricks that work a treat and so forth. But .... ... He has been playing awful for a long time without even a glimpse of promise .... Hope he does well and starts to be competitive again .... Doubt we will see that though.

I've been watching idra for years, and in that time he has had more positive moments in EG that far out weighted the small minority of ugly comments he has made, and sadly Physics dictates that one large enough negative can cancel a thousand positives.

But Idra is also right when he said that industries respect one unique law: "Business is business". He could say everything he told us using this little sentence...

It's always been pretty bizarre to me. Probably the success of 2011 got to his head and he thought he was so superior to the NA scrubs that he doesn't have to pay any attention to them. And unsurprisingly, that didn't work so well. And then he starts getting apathetic and even more out of the loop, I suppose.

While not brought in the nicest way, it is still pretty close to the truth. Imagine if Idra never did anything besides playing a game and typing GG in the end. No one would have heard of him in the first place.

I don't think so. Where exactly are you getting this? He watches the latest tourneys. He knows what is going on. He's a pro player for god's sake - he knows all these things. You have to ask WHY IN THE NAME OF FUCK someone with his experience, and who started HotS in the beta, didn't qualify for the Shoutcraft league of top 16 Americans. The answer is that he doesn't even evaluate his own replays, he won't be told anything, he doesn't have practice partners because he flames everyone who beats him, he attributes almost every defeat to his opponents playing badly, and he's constantly behind the meta-game -- sometimes to almost farcical lengths. As an example of the latter, Demuslim pointed out that Idra's creep spread is nowhere near as effective as Stephano's and is literally minutes behind. And that's creep spread...a fundamental part of the game, which was fleshed out even in WoL. And all this time, Idra's been out of the loop on that. I'm afraid no amount of high-powered analytical skills and veteran savvy will compensate for an unprofessional attitude and a Dunning–Kruger syndrome. That's the most disappointing thing of all. Idra used to be able to do pretty well for himself when Zerg was, to an outside observer a lot weaker than it was in other periods. His stubborn mentality and adherence to a pretty defined playstyle with emphasis on mechanical chops seemed to be a bonus to him then (in terms of maintaining a certain skill level), and subsequently became a massive hindrance. I mean, Idra or Ret taking out GSL level Terrans with Muta/ling/bling was a big deal, to the degree that many people really remember those games. However, both those guys never really pushed from being really top-tier foreign Zergs when the metagame/whatever you want to call it was clearly more favourable to Zergs towards the end of WoL. It's always been pretty bizarre to me. I actually know why idra/ret still didn't do very good at end of WoL even when zvp/zvt was zerg favored. Playing the style of turtle till deathball and win while it worked is just something that doesn't work for everyone. For example, when that style became pretty much the only way to consistently win games, I dropped in skill a ton. Something that was easy to do, I sucked at. I couldn't handle the bl/corr/infestor. Now by couldn't handle I mean it was so boring I hated having to do it. There are just some players like me (and presumably ret/idra) who just can't do that style very good because it was incredibly boring and doesn't play to the players strengths. For instance I would say my mechanics are pretty good. When it came down to that deathball style play, mechanics didn't really matter as it mainly came down to just getting the army. If you somehow lost a 200/200 bl/corr/infestor army (something that was very rare lol) you can't really remax on that in a timely frame and that's usually gg. Short version: Some players can't play that boring turtley style very well, I would guarantee idra/ret and many others were that way which is why their results didn't get better. Makes a lot of sense, I've long suffered from trying not to either turtle or allin as Protoss, as it's my personal preference stylistically

They keep the posters "in line with a certain code" (although the language used in some "you are banned" messages could be a little more polite IMO) through a set of disciplinary measures. First you get warned (for mild offenses) and after not showing a sign of improvement you are banned for a few days or maybe even more. This action of EG is basically the same ... they "warned" him a few times and tried to work towards improving his temper quite a bit, but there comes a time when someone simply has to get banned ... It might not only be the comment which he has made in public, but also "his personal attitude in the office" of which we know nothing. In the end it is the sum of his actions and a justifiable response by EG.
