I won’t be pumping out interviews on a daily basis for a while, sorry. But enjoy HerO!

Today’s victory must have been more meaningful. How did you feel?
This wasn’t even a championship victory but that’s certainly what it felt like (laughs). I accomplished something that I didn’t think was possible so the victory was more meaningful and I feel proud.
It must have been difficult for you to mentally recover after losing in the 5th game.
I honestly, I kept wondering as to whether or not I was just going to end up losing again. I was playing against SK Telecom’s Rain at YongSan so I’m sure anybody would have seen that as a loss. And I did lost game five so it was pretty clear that I’m still lacking.
Being chosen as the ace must have been burdensome.
I didn’t want to be sent out for the ace match (laughs). It was an important game and I was lacking in confidence so it was very burdensome. But the coaching staff and my teammates believed in me so I was able to walk out feeling confident because of them. Supervisor Park told me that “in actuality, I’m sure the pressure is even worse right now for Rain than you.” “You have nothing to lose so I’m sure you are going to win.”
Do you think you’ve broken the YongSan curse and the Rain curse with your victory today?
I think it’s more important that I just don’t view them as jinxes. I realized that my games don’t go well if I keep that kind of mindset.
After going on a winning streak, you then went on a losing streak. It must be difficult to go through this.
I felt like I was floating in air because we went on a winning streak, so it was really difficult to get ahold of myself again after we let our guard down and went back on a losing streak. It felt like we had been hit in the back of the head after losing to KT. But we were all able to get a grip on ourselves because we lost after letting our guard down so we came to today’s match fully prepared for what was to come.
You must have worked especially hard in order to overcome your jinx.
I’ve heard a lot of people wonder if EG-TL could even make it to the post season if we just can’t win in YongSan. I think we were able to use today’s opportunity to make a statement that we can actually climb even higher than before since we were able to overcome such a jinx.
It really seemed like this victory was much more different than usual.
In the past, I didn’t really think much about the victories I grabbed in Proleague. However, nowadays winning even one game for Proleague feel just so different to me now that I’ve put the team ahead of my own needs. Even if we do lose, we keep encouraging each other and we feel stronger because we’re determined to drop this notion that we’re frauds. I think that’s what’s different about us.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank our sponsors for sponsoring the team. I want to thank my parents and my fans for always cheering for me regardless of if I win or lose, and thank supervisor Park, the coach, and my teammates for believing in me. I am so happy that I get to play with a great team like this one and I hope to continue making valuable memories from here on out.
The last thing I would like to say is to the EG-TL sponsors. I know everyone is eagerly anticipating our comeback performance, but even if we don’t make the playoffs, I would like them to keep their focus on this whole process. Rather than worry about our results, I want them to keep observing how we all come together as one as we head for the same goal.
