I wonder how they'll do in Proleague.
Yeah, I don't know if I would bet on these two to save EGTL in PL.

Yeah, because JYP has SUCH a bad record doesn't he?
Jesus christ, guy gets abuse all the time for no fucking reason, it's retarded.
Agreed. JYP has been performing really well considering how well the "star" players are doing. I have certainly become more of a fan of his and can't wait to see how he improves with the new coach.
JYP has been the most consistent Korean player for EG ever since the few games he took in the GSTL.

They're take what they can get. There aren't a whole lot of Terran candidates who are groomed and prepped at the moment. You have to develop them yourself.

Oz is, for my money the best build preparer bar none of Protoss players. He also has passable English and did, iirc some psuedo-coaching in FXO as well. Will be great for team cohesion and for Proleague I can see him being a real useful guy to have around. He may have never really achieved the result I think his play merited, and may never win individual leagues, but for innovative, map-specific builds Oz is king. (That or mancrush speaking)
Alive is pretty much Puma, except probably in a bit better shape of late. Horrendously underrated player, if HoTS doesn't throw him off that is, he's been a top 10 Terran for pretty much the duration of WoL, albeit I'm not sure where he is now especially with the Kespa players inexorable rise.
I think this is a positive sign as well regarding Proleague. If EG wanted players for picking up easy money from foreign tournaments, these two are not really a step up from Puma and there were other potential pickups there who would be great for that purpose. This to me, reading between the lines is EG bolstering their Korea-based players eligible for Proleague. They mightn't salvage this season and make the playoffs or whatever, but I definitely see them salvaging pride for their next run.
alive is MUCH more a complete player than puma will ever be smart pickups by eg, really showing that they in fact focus on pl now. wanna see a new tl pickup aswell, cant be all eg :>
at least hes way cheaper and less demanding than greedy PuMa, and performance wise can match him / outclasses him in TvT for example. But that requires him to be fully motivated, I always thought of aLive as a sleeping volcano.

Irrelevant now considering everyone knows by now what Stephano is up to and a guy like IdrA just doesn't want to ante up to that type of regime anymore. Maybe we'll see guys like Stephano come back for a round every once in a while or perhaps he's getting ready for med school after touring the international scene once again.
wow EG getting bigger and bigger. I think now they have 13 players in their roster! With JD, Revival, Oz, aLive and JYP they almost are a good team on their own to compete in SPL, but I think all players have to get better and play above their level.

"These days"
What do you base this upon? Just cause he's not playing anywhere doesnt mean he's just one of tenfolds of Koreans who doesnt have the space for exercising their skills (except Code A-qual once every 2-4 months that few of you can see anyway)
Alive admitted himself that he didn't do anything with the chances Fnatic gave him and that the entire team wasn't practicing as much as they should have.
Kind of disappointed that EG picked them up in light of that, but I guess Hwanni still cares for his boys.

If that makes them irrelevant, why did he list Puma?

Coach Park and Trot will whoop his ass if he doesn't practice. Hopefully motivation won't be an issue now that he is playing a super prestigious league and on one of the most popular teams.

No idea. Considering we're talking about EG specifically you could have even left out the TL players too even though they compete with them.

I think it has more to do with the fact Fnatic is a Western team where players interact with the team managers and the players have more responsibility when it comes to practicing.

Who would you pick-up then? They don't have a farm system set up for fishing out prospects. What do you do? Go with the names out there.
